Hi, how can I find a proper surgeon for my appendix surgery. Should I look for a specialist or a general surgeon can do the job?

Hi, actually a general surgeon has completed a five year or longer residency and can perform most of surgeries, except plastic surgery, heart surgery and others strictly specified. He can deal with surgery of the neck, chest, breast, abdomen, skin, blood vessels and trauma. Additional training is required for cardiac and plastic surgery. Some even do sub-specialization, in order to become expert in one or a few diseases. There is no longer such a thing as "the best surgeon in town" , so you should seek for the surgeon best able to handle your specific condition.
