You are young, but I had the same thing. Turns out that I had esophageal cancer...(tumor in the esophagus). If you are losing weight, see a doctor immediately. I am 81....had successful surgery to remove the tumor. Good luck.
In my case I believe it was a vitamin pill that got lodged. I had some bread dipped in olive oil and that gave some relief.replace
does your throat feel like it is closing when you eat say....rice? This happens to me when eating rice. It goes down real slow and it hurts real bad. I drool even. OMG it is horrible. It could take minutes for the feeling to subside, but in the mean time you think your going to die for lack of air!
check Cricopharyngeal spasm
hope that helps!

21 year old male here, no recent diseases or discomfort or cold or anything, fairly fit, nonsmoker etc. Started feeling this small bump/"pill"/"extra piece of tissue" in my throat only when I swallow (and only clearly noticeable when I swallow water), since last week. A bit worried and googled around and this seems to be the only place where similar experiences are being shared. Gonna hold on a bit to see if anything changes before making any decisions...

T his may be of help.
what is the lump in the throat I am feeling like the lady of 42 years old. Can anyone give us an answer?
I read the article of the lady who is 42 year old with the lump in her throat. I have the same question. Any answers?
I am 32 year old female and , when i had my son 5 years ago they couldn't stop me from coughing. I have had the senseation of something in my throat for that long. Sometimes i cant even eat cause it hurts. I had tests done and was giving medicines, nothing came up or worked. I now cant seem to breath so i have to cough all the time to catch my breath. I went to ER a couple days ago and they told me it was anxiety dysorder. They also said i need to probably see a lung speacialist. But, 5 years??? I pretty much think its something else. I am also not sure where to go from here.
I have had the same thing going on, so went to a specialist and was told it is allergies, and have to much acid in my stomach, could always start with prilosec or something and see if that helps.

im 24 year old female iv just started having tgis clincking problem on my left side im not worried its just annoying i find if i tilt my head upwhen i swallow it doesnt do it. wondering what could it be. ......
It could be your thyroid. One of the tell-tale signs of hypo/hyper thyroidism is the feeling of something in the base of your throat. You should get it checked out by a dr because if unchecked, it could be as simple as a daily medication or as severe as thyroid cancer.
Get yourselves checked. this is a serious problem often leading to the discovery of a form of tumour in the throat.
well i have had it before but i only get it a few times every month and i drink something to get it away but if you have had it for 3 months then i would see a doctor about it to see if its anything serious if not then try finding some home remedies to loosen the throat and take way the lump in your throat xoxoxox
