It gave me hope that one day I'll gave up on this bad habit for good. thank you so much sincerely ❤️ Fortunately my family would be there to help me through this but I need all the strenght to STOP smoking ans ask for help .... (I'm isolating myself now because of nausea and anxiety)

I've smoked for years. I live in WA state. I decided to take a break and quit this past Tuesday. All the symptoms mentioned above, I've experienced. Mentally, I'm glad I chose to take a break. But physically, it's a challenge. After reading this, I understand I'm not the only person to feel withdrawal.

is marijuana addictive? I believe the answer may not be a simple yes or no but depend on several factors such as genetics and if you have an addictive personality or not. There are people who get addicted to alcohol and can’t stop even when faced with losing everything and everyone in their lives. Then again there are those who will go out and binge drink for an entire weekend then won’t touch the stuff for 6 months. Likewise I have friends who smoke 2 packs of cigarettes a day but I also have friends that will only smoke cigarettes when they’re drinking or at social gatherings but never really get addicted or crave it. Hi I believe marijuana works in a similar way, there are indeed chemicals in weed that your body can develop a dependency on especially if your body is used to getting these chemicals daily therefore if you try to quit you get physically ill. Nausea, headaches, stomach aches, vomiting , inability to sleep, hot flashes, chills, etc. these are all very real symptoms you can have in the days and weeks following quitting smoking marijuana. I speak from personal experience, I have somewhat of an addictive personality. If I like something I tend to overdue it. So now armed with that knowledge I’m more cautious about what I put in my body, but it took me quite some time to figure all this out. So is marijuana addictive? My advise: “know thyself”

Don’t wanna take away from all the incredible medicinal effects but daily recreational use for most people that are not set up in their careers or education can definitely slow or halt progress. The withdrawals are real too. Night sweats, mood swings, nausea, & panic attacks. On the plus side if you can endure the discomfort of withdrawal, you’ll have better sleep patterns and more energy. Exercise of any kind from walking to gym stuff helps.

I’m so glad I found this thread! It’s been a year since a post so hopefully someone can give me some piece of mind and advice..
I’ve been a avid pot smoker now for 5 years, my story is long. To keep it short I went through some pretty hard times and found pot really helped my anxiety and depression. It helped me not to rely on drinking as a scape goat and now I’m a personal trainer and don’t care to drink at all. Fast forward to now, I found out I’m pregnant and at 6 weeks quit cold turkey. But the struggle is real, on top of morning sickness I’m definitely having withdrawals from not smoking and I’ve lost so much weight. I think I’m losing my mind. Mood swings, no appetite, depression and the list goes on.
I’m really just hoping for some advice since there is little out there that deals with both at the same time.
Thank you in advance!
