Soooooooo........ I have been a diabetic for the last 3 years and I was the typical couch potato..... TV, lots of unhealthy food, sugared sodas, drinks, beer, almost no exercise. My blood pressure at the doctor's was in the 150's and my blood sugar was elevated to the point I was told I had diabetes and was started on medications. I have had great support from my family and my doctor, who have encouraged me to change my lifestyle. Cut down eating, definitely introduced meals with lean meat, complex carbohydrates, fibers, lots of fruits and vegetables. I even began mountaineering!!!! Today: I have a BMI of 25!!!!! from 32 and my sugars in the last 2 months have been almost in the normal range! There is hope guys, make sure to stay on top of your disease! Don't become a prisoner of your body and mind. Will check with my doctor next week. Excited.
Hello there, guest! Let me extend a congratulations on your success in reversing your type 2 diabetes! That is very encouraging to many people and thank you for offering your ideas to successfully reverse your diabetes. All of the interventions you have initiated are what every diabetic should strive for, though any activity could do other than mountaineering! :) Having a support system is very important, just as you did. Are there any other readers who have enjoyed overcoming their diabetes? Are there any other things you have tried that successfully helped you reverse your diabetes? Any other pointers that would be helpful to the newly diagnosed diabetic?
