I'm not saying go for it and I'm not saying don't. Just think, once you have a child everything you do MUST benefit you child, caring for yourself is now over because you need to spend every ounce of everything you have to make that child the best it can be. So just think and put A LOT of thought into before making any decisions.

Hey, my name is Dorothy. I am 18 years old and I am in the same position as you. I want to have a baby too, but I know that I can't right now. NOT because I'm unstable emotionally or mentally, but because of money. Now, I know that I could easily go on welfare, but why would I?
It's funny how people say, because you are young, you can't have children, but I disagree with that.
I have an at home day care here in my house, $400 a month per child.
I'm making some pretty decent money right now and with that money, I COULD support a child, no problem.
Oh might I also add, I will be able to go to College NEXT year, even WITH a child?
Have my at-home day care program, wait until my boyfriend gets off work, eat dinner, and go to my school at 6-945PM.
I may only be 18, but doesn't it seem like I at least got THAT much figured out?
My boyfriend and I already discussed it.
If we have a baby now, I babysit through my day care program and make money for the baby that way and he pays for the rent/food etc. Until I can get a full time job.
Works for me! And him!
I think that if you want a baby, have a baby! Just be smart.
Make sure that if you choose to, to be prepared for waking up every couple hours ( not for a whole year, it's usually for the first 5-7 months, trust ).
Yeah it's tiring, but hey, I've done it! ( not my own children, but I have babysat babies over night mannnyyyy times and yeah, it's hard, but very very REWARDING! )
HAVE FUN and I hope everything works out!

hi there....
personally i dont think 19 is too young... i had my baby girl brooklyn at 20 and she has brought me nothing but joy.
i did not wake up every 2 hours for a year like someone said... and i still do travel... we took her to new zealand for her first christmas and south africa for easter 2010 leading up to world cup.
whats the big deal... alot of people here are the immature ones, not you... you want a baby, and they say choose getting drunk first...
i still have a good time, and i do have a drink here and there, im not without money and Brooklyn is not without anything, she has all she needs and i have all i need... lifes too short to base it on getting pissed... i had my baby young so i can enjoy her and keep up with her, nothing worse than seeing someone base a good parent on their age... ive seen parents twice my age not be able to cope or do half the stuff i do with my lil girl and i feel sorry for the kids...
i say do what your heart says.... but if you still wish to party hard DO NOT have a baby as its just unfair on the child... and also if you do not plan on ever staying with your boyfriend... unfair on kids growing up without fathers.

I'm 19 too and I am with my boyfriend since I was 15, he's 20. We are engaged, have income every week, but we don't live together because of distance we are trying to decide where we would like to settle together. I have done my fair share of partying but I now don't smoke don't drink or go out with my friends at all I stay at home with my family, I spend most days with my nephew. My partner and i really want a family. We would be waiting until next year to do it though. My sister got pregnant at 21 and she says she doesn't regret it because my nephew is fantastic and she loves him to bits. I want a baby so bad my partner wants one too My family were very supportive too.I physically get jealous when I hear of someone I know getting pregnant and when I see people with their babies I get very upset because I don't have one. I have been with my sister the whole time she was pregnant and my nephew is 3 now and I've been helping her look after him since he was born I've done the early mornings and everything I know what I'd be in for. but I'm still unsure because Im afraid that I'll be judged I usually don't care but you know.

It's ok to want to have a baby at this age. Though it is true that it's a complete scandal to take care of one. I used to take care of my nephew and with all that experience I can now take care of one of my own. I'm 20 years old and my boyfriend is also glad of the choice we made to have our kid and even though I don't go to parties or hang out with my friends that often, I found it worth it and if I'm desperate to go to a party I'll just ask my mom to take care of my daughter and I'll go. There is nothing to worry about, if you feel you are ready then go ahead, trust me you will love it.
Good luck,
Ela

I'm 15 and for 3 years I have wanted a baby of my own. I love kids, I have been around them my whole life. I know I am WAY too young to be having a baby, and I don't plan on having one anytime soon, but the urge of having a baby of my own is so strong, sometimes I get so upset about not having one that I break down and cry. I have tried babysitting but it isn't the same...I want to go through the pregnancy, all the pain involved, I want to be waken up late at night throughout the night to a crying baby. I want all the things a mother has when she has a baby. I would be willing to give up my life to raise a baby. Again I know I'm too young, but how can I satisfy these baby craving I got?
