I had typed a long post.. then my laptop crashed and i lost it. So i will get right to the point.
I had the EXACT symptoms that most of you did and it ended up being Scabies. ( i never would have believed it as i was convinced it was a rash )

1: Permethrin Cream 5% (kills micro critters )

2: Fluocinonide .05% (steroid cream helps relieve soreness inflamation)

This will fix you! Good luck.

I had the brown patch on my underwear like the person two posts above, as well as the original posters symptoms of intensly itchy scrotum with a red rash on legs. It was actually 3 rashes that ended up appearing that were really round and sore.

I tried out Tinactin for jock itch and as of 4 days my scrotum no longer itches at all and the sores/rash are now healing normally.

Hope this helps good luck to anyone else with this annoying problem!

I too have been suffering from this so called jock itch. I have seen doctors, dermatologists, I recently had a bad case of MRSA and was hospitalized for a week, because of this infection I had massive doses of antibiotics even through all this the damn itch remained. I met with infectious disease doctors been to allergists you name it I've been and tried. No medication or cream worked completely. Some would help for a couple days and you think man it's gone then bam it's back bad as ever. I too have searched the web looking for help. Couple solutions that work somewhat is Calagel anti-itch gel made for poison ivy that offferd some relief. Baby powder helps but make sure its corn starch not talc powder. Another suggestion is ice packs. I recently found some small reuseable ice beads that when frozen fit into this area nicely and offer some relief, seems when cool the itching stops. I was told I had scabies too and used the cream and the pills and still the itching remains. Someone is going to get rich if they find that one cure for this problem because there are thousands of us out there suffering from this infliction. Hope these ideas help they are not the solution only minor relief but when grasping for anything they are worth a shot.

To those of you that have noticed brown spots in your shorts, it is most likely dried blood from the spots you have itched raw.

I have had this problem for over 20 years, and nothing seems to help. it went away once for about 3 years when i got grossly over-weight (300#+). when i lost the weight it came back. i had a doctor do several cultures that came back negative. so he ruled out fungal type problems.

wow, good to hear I'm not alone. My symptoms are the same as those posted here (intense itching, particularly at night, sometimes flaky skin, leathery wrinkles, etc.). For me, it's located on the upper right side of my scrotum just below my penis. It seems like it may be due to my anatomy as this spot is where it rubs against my shorts. Found wearing loose boxers provides relief instead of boxer briefs. The cortizone cream works but the problem comes back. Pretty sure it's just really dry skin but will get checked out. Thanks for all the advice.

I had this for about a week and went to a general practitioner. Walked out of the office with a cream, and it was gone the next day.

This can easily be taken care of, and male genitals is a frequent spot.

I have the same problem. But I have a skin irritation/disease. I use the same stuff that I do when it breaks out in normally sweaty places...like where my elbow bends and the backside of my knee (only 2 areas i really get it) I put the same stuff on my scrotum where it was itchy and slightly raised and it went away. Thing is that it's not over the counter, so not sure how easy it will be to get your hands on the medication. I'll write the name later when I get home.

I had this problem for over 10 years. It comes and goes and could bother me for 2 to 3 days a week then go away for a month and back again. Wearing loose boxers instead of tight briefs helped a lot but when the itch gets real bad (which is usually at night when I'm at home), I scald it with a really hot shower (around 50C) and that provides instant relief and keep the itch away for at least a day sometimes weeks. Lately I'm beginning to worry whether this might be doing my testicles any harm..... Am I the only way using this hot water treatment?

I have had a similiar problem, I went to the family doctor. He said that the itching is caused by a yeast infection and that it thrives in
moist places like the gr oin. He said this is in your blood as well, he prescribed an antibiotic called Keto or Metro conazola. He also
wrote for Ketoconazole Cream 2 per cent to hit it from inside and out. He advised after showering to us a hair dryer to thourly dry
the area and not to wear tight fitting briefs, but rather boxers. an old remedy for mild cases is corn starch applied to the area.

I've got this. Its caused by my sudden descent into drinking beer again. For years I didnt touch beer, just lost the taste for it and then suddenly this year have gone back to it. I dont drink every night, but a couple of nights a week I have maybe 4 or 5 beers and this seems to have triggered it, because if I dont drink, I dont itch!!!

It has been awhile since someone has posted to this. I have the same thing and didn't know if anyone found out what it is or what really made it go away. If anyone can tell me if it has went away please tell me what you used or did. Thanks

I had similar problem or several years, went to doctor and tried fungal, anti-inflammatory and anti bacterial creams, but did not work. In the end it turned out I was allergic to the man made fibres in my underwear, elstacine - also known as lycra, even most cotton underwear includes this material as allows them to stretch. Switched to 100% cotton (including cotton seams) and problem rapidly disappeared. No problems since

FOR ALL POSTS:

If you've ever had antibiotics or steroids, you probably have a YEAST INFECTION.

You Must eliminate sugar from your diet which stops feeding the yeast, and basically stick to a vegetable and meat diet - no grains, no fruit, no sugar diet for 2 weeks - do this and if not improved, it's something else.

Meanwhile for instant itch relief, take the oil from a glass jar of minced garlic and put it on the affected area, then sprinkle corn starch - if this helps then it has killed the yeast on the surface and a confirmed case of Yeast Overgrowth.

Im glad to see that Im an not the only gentalmen that has had these issues. It had started about a month ago and shows up every once in a while. Like everyone else its a very consistent itch but when I itch it afterwards it hurts. I also have the samething on the inside of my right cheek of my ass. Its very uncomfortable and everytime I sit down i have to adjust my package or find a way to sit so its not in so much pain. I use A&D ointment and it doesnt work (only ointment I have around). Im going to try some of the remedies that I have read on here but if there is anything new you have heard or anything new at all but let me know. Thanks in advance!
