I'm currently sitting exams and it has started happening to me. I terrified that it may mean I'm pregnant. Do you think it could be induced by stress? I've never had it before, but then again I've never had so many stressful exams and there have been a lot of family issues these past couple of months.
I'm going to book an appointment with the doctor anyways just to be sure but it would comforting to know there is a chance it's not pregnancy related.

Again, all of my tests came back normal! Prolactin levels normal, thyroid normal...still don't understand it, but as long as nothing seriously is wrong, I'm not going to stress over it.

Ok, I really have a lot of questions after reading all of this. I am still lactating after having my last child 6 years ago. My doctor has run hormone tests and I have had my thyroid checked out. everything has come back normal. I treat myself to spa days at least once a week so the stress level is very low. I am still lactating. My MD has even gone as far as checking for lumps and anything else that could be abnormal and all is normal. Anyone have any more ideas?
How ironic that I come across this post. My son is 6 years old and I am still producing milk. My dr is sending me for blood work to check for thyroid issues (again...this will be my second round of testing) also checking my hormone levels. I will also be going for my second mamo next week to be sure there is nothing there. It's very unnerving to say the least to have this still happen even though I am not breastfeeding or pregnant. The dr had NO CLUE why this is still happening, she only said that it does happen though it's not common.

I have been lactating over a year now. I have 5 children, the last of which were twins who weaned over 4 years ago. I had to wean them because i started drying up. I did not produce anything for over 4 years. Last summer I started getting that heavy feeling and tenderness then I noticed I was leaking in the shower. A few months earlier I felt a lump and had a mamogram, there was some 'fiberous tissue' but nothing unusual in the mamogram. I talked to my DR about the lactating. He did some blood tests and they came back normal.
I can believe the stress issue to some degree, but I excersice regularly and have a good stress management system in place- running it out on the tread mill, playing card games with the kids, watching movies, and journaling. it is painful, for those that have breastfed before, it is like the first two weeks of nursing all the time, the incredible tenderness and over full feeling that usually goes away after the baby and body adjust to each other, only it is all the time for a year now. If anyone has gone through this and not found an explanation when you go to the doctor, please let me know what I should be asking about, because right now all I know is 37 year old women who had their last child 5 years ago who can not possibly be pregnant should not be doing this!
Let me repeat- I have gone to the doctor and had the blood work done, it is not my thyroid or my pituitary gland, nor is it breast cancer.

You're boyfriend doesn't mind bc he is 15 and having sex...
is lactating period safe for geting pragnent
I have been to the doctor and I still have problems so I don't understand what is going on. I still have menstrual and lactation issues. Test have come back inconclusive and I still no answer. I am not pregnant and my youngest child is nearly four and he breast fed up to six months. I do not have a very active sex life. At this point I am lost.
Well what are they!!!!!!!
if you want to sound smart you should probably use proper grammar
Wow, I can't believe you said that. It's a blog, an open forum for discussion. If you're going to insult somebody's intelligence at least do it with proper grammar. What are you? A foreign, non-native speaker?
Hi I saw ur post and was wondering if I could get advice. I had my daughter a year ago and a few months later was put on the depo shot. However in the last two months I have had the symptoms of being pregnant this also includes lactating large amount of milk and terrible dizzy spells.Every test I take comes back blank or negative so I'm confused on what it may be. Do u have any idea what it may be.
