Good day. My name is Sheldon and I am 57 years old. I am living with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy for so many years. I never take care of myself and I know that this is not a good thing to say but I can’t help it I am working too much and I don’t have enough time to exercise, to eat properly. But now, when I am 57 I can tell you that I am feeling a little bit bad. My doctor suggested me to try some diet program if I want to live more. I don’t know any diet program that can help me. I was wondering can you suggest me what is the best diet for me? Thank you!

Hey there.

Ouh, you have a same problem as my uncle has. He was looking for the best diet program for him for years and I remember that one older lady hear him talking about this and she told him that it is recommended for him to eat a well – balanced diet low in fat and low in cholesterol.

This is one way to monitor your cholesterol level and this will control your health care. So, also this is going to help maintain a healthy weight and you will be healthy.

Focus on this diet program and I am sure that you will be just fine. What do you eat now?

Hey dear La Yl La,
When my good friend told me to seek for answers on this site, I didn’t believe that someone will answer me that quick. Thank you and God bless you. I will try this food but I am not so sure where I can find some recipes. Or I should just seek for the groceries that are low in fat or low in cholesterol.
Do you have any recommendation for me?
About your other question, what am I eating – well I am eating everything, from burgers, pizza, pastas, chicken and vegetables. I know that I am not responsible about the food.

Hey. There are a couple of ways to stay healthy. First is to eat healthy, definitely. You should not be that worried because most of people with hyperthopatic cardiomyopathy have normal life expectancy. My friend’s dad was diagnosed with it and he just “kick out” unhealthy groceries. He is still a live and he was diagnosed with it a couple of years ago (11 or 12, I am not sure).

It is very important to find the proper module of eating and you will remain healthy. But do it now. I don’t think that you should wait.

Hi there. Thank you. A lot of people told me to consult my doctor, but honestly I don’t see why I should consult my doctor or my cardiologist about this issue. I know that it is very bad for me to eat everything especially this ugly food with lot of fats, but I can’t help it. I don’t know why everything that is delicious is not healthy. I am going to eat chicken, turkey, duck, vegetables and fruits? I mean, is this OK? Is this healthy and low – fat foods? I think that I can eat this but it will be hard to avoid that delicious food.

Hey. Tell me about it. I was eating everything and sometimes I still caught myself eating pizza or pasta, especially late in the night. And this is so bad choice. Yes, you can never make a mistake with groceries such as chicken, vegetables and turkey. But prepare them on very low temperature, without a lot of oil. I suggest you olive oil. Like I already told you it is a good thing that this disease is not that dangerous and you can expect to have very good life with it. Just you need to pay a little attention on your ordinary life. Good luck.
