::All you people talking about smoking pot......you shouldnt really, i did december 15th of 06 and to this day i stil feel like im gonna throw up,Going everywhere no matter what it is or what your doing feeling sick isnt very fun,and also i have GERD.Which is a stomach problem,All caused by a night of a little bit of rum and pot.My advice to any and everyone, dont be a m***n,stop smoking and drinking,or else itll take your life a lot faster then your life was meant to be.Im living proof ""

im all for telling people if smoking pot causes you problems... stop... same way as if you get an allergy to say .. strawberries... you should then stop eating strawberries. now dont get me wrong im not comparing all of these symptoms people have as an allergy. im sure plenty of other reasons besides an allergic reaction are causing these issues. something in the pot might mess with your chemistry or something along those lines.. i dont know personally im not a diagnostician. but i do want to remind people that saying "I'm Living proof" or something along those lines is a major falacy on logic. (btw it was a bad example gerd can be caused my a large number of things besides smoking one time. which to be honest is bull in my opinion) Statistically speaking 1 example even a real one (lets say the gerd example was true) will not prove anything the large amount of random factors that can provide the same ending in any given experiment is HUGE unless rigidly enforced and even then it must be tested and retested ect ect ect. but please people if you think pot is making you sick... stop... find out.... then do what needs to be done.

PS another issue with this statement... All you people talking about smoking pot..... how someone can type that reasonably is beyond me. this is a pot smokers health blog.forum, whatever... of course pots gonna be in the content

I'd like to see the actual proof that shows an validity in your statement.

I myself had a hard time believing that weed was causing my sons sickness, but we have ran every test possible, ultra-sound a scope
on his bowels, stool samples, blood work, its crazy,
I know more people that smoke than dont and have met one other person that also thinks it was pot making her sick
my son smokes a bong not joints , and does poppers, maybe that has something to do with it, but he hasnt smoked since and
he and I see a difference he is eating a little more ,I mean he was eating with the munchies but if he wasnt smoking ,he had
no appetite ,and the smell made him nauseous, I dont know., Im not a anti-weed person I smoked it chronically myself for many years
so I found it hard to beieve, but its the only diagnoses that we have found and I have seen others while searching the web claiming the same
thing,   not a hater just tryin to figure my sons problem out,

Thats interesting. I mean I know of marijuana allergies but its almost like alcohol allergy where using less makes it more intense and usually would just cause a bad trip and maybe a sore throat. There is a high likely hood that if she was purchasing from a single source be it dealer or clinic, we wont get into that part of this convo, that they could have been doing the nutrient cleanse wrong or were using a pesticide. Quality of what your using as "medical marijuana" is important.

I most certainly would stop sitting with people that are getting high. Tell them your problem and come after they are done smoking or go in another room or outside u til they are high and happy. Sorry for your

problem. I am going thru something similar with edibles. I have horrible cramps and gas and terrible diarrhea. If I don't have pot in the p.m. I cant sleep. I went to 4 sleep dr's and they all said I sleep about 13 or 14 hours a week. So it is cramps, gas ,an diarrhea for me. good luck.

I suffer from chronic pain as a result of a car accident back Jan 2001, and the pain was so severe that the pain specialist surgically implanted a pain pump in my abdomen that is pumps hydromorphine directly into my spine back in 2007. This is to eliminate all the damage to my internal organs from the morphine - so much for the history now onto your question. About two or three years ago my pain specialist also prescribed Cessamet (which is a drug made from THC(Marijuana)) to further help with pain control as well and create an appetite. About a year and a half ago I developed symptons similar to yours where I would vomit and the runs and not be able to eat for a week at a time. This condition would occur evry 6 to 8 weeks. I of course would have to go to the hospital and get IV's because I was so dehydrated. Last week I had another bout of this nauseous along with severe constipation and had to go back to Emergency last night. The Doctor there said that there is a syndrom caused by drugs made from THC/Marijuana. I am sorry but the name of the syndrom was Latin and sounded like about 100 letters long. I was just Googling to try and find the name when I can across your plight. My recommendations to you, which is what the Doctor told me was to stop; in my case the Doc said stop for a month or two and see if the syndrom goes away. Especially in your case where you are using for recreation purpose. Good luck

I admit that I haven't read every post on this specific thread, but from what I have read is a lot of c**p (sorry I really cannot think of a better way to say that). First off, most of what has been said negatively about mj is anecdotal and not backed by anything scientific. If one, like those who refuse to admit that coincidence can happen (to say that it was unfortunate timing for one to try cannabis and have it line up in a time with an illness or dysfunction), then one might be able to read some actual research on mj use. As far as IBD and digestive issues from use (any use where the body can convert the THC for use in the body) there are plenty of sites that are scientifically/medically backed. The most recent being from Israel, with real life human beings, in a controlled clinical trial of mj vs. placebo and guess what?!?! the cannabis use actually 'cleaned up' the disease and damage that it has caused. There are also plenty of articles stating how the endocannabinoid system actually works in the body. Do some research before you start spouting non-sense that creates more harm then good. (yes I am directly blaming people like you for the reason it's still illegal and millions of people {from AIDS to cancer, glaucoma to MS as well as thousands of other illness and conditions} are not getting the help they need and being denied a chance to have a somewhat normal/functioning life) And the last point to make, if anyone talks about the stupid 'test' that showed it killed brain cells, here's a little advice, if you cut off a living creatures supply of oxygen, they will lose brain cells (suffocation).

Educate yourself and maybe this world wouldn't be so bad. Norml is a good place to start (with loads of links to SCIENTIFIC evidence and not personal beliefs and morals).

My Story is almost exactly the same as yours. Im also on protonix, already had my gall bladder removed and Im a daily female smoker. I told my Dr. of my mj use, she didnt like it, but also said if it is helping you eat and helping the stomach pain and neausea ease, then fine. Here is the problem, I think the smoking is making the problems, then once your high, its helping the pain go away! I have quit before, the problems didnt go away, hense cause the mj causes permenant damage, and I was always in pain...so, I started smoking again, and im only in pain when Im not smoking. Im also taking protonix twice a day still too. Im so sick of being sick! I caused the damage to my stomach, now Im stuck in a bad circle. But, I dont want to quit smoking, the benifits outway the bad.

I went to the doctor feeling the same stomach problems and he said some people are more sensitive than others and I have a huge ulcer from smoking 3-4 times a week. I was prescribed meds and diet for it and of course NO more smoking pot at all. The doctor said if it doesn't heal in a few months I might need surgery. I think if your starting to feel your stomach wierd, vomiting and an increase in the frequency of bowel movements. Go to your doctor and immediately STOP smoking weed!!!!!

I have smoked pot throughout my life.  From an early age, i knew how to pack and smoke from a pipe by myself at age 4.  I still smoke pot to this day, at this moment.  I quit smoking, when my son was born, for a couple of years, about 17 years ago. This morning vomiting thing has going on throughout my life, times when i quit smoking pot for years, and times when i am smoking pot. The cannibanoid syndrome was suggested to me during one of my six ER visits last month. I went in with the typical: spastic stomach with nausea and cyclical vomiting. Dr.'s have convinced me to quit drinking coffee(6yrs ago), alcohol(1yr ago), avoid all caffeine(6yrs ago), cut all pepper from my diet and eat better (2yr ago). With each compromise there was the promise of my stomach getting better. The detraction of these things in my diet ,while restrictive, has helped some of the day to day symptoms.  However, it hasn't fixed my problem.  Over the passed few years my morning stomach attacks have gotten worse. I have some medicinal suggestions to talk to your physician about.  My Dr. prescribes a bedside concoction that helps me on mornings where I feel a major episode is imminent. Prescription Adavan/lorazapan -pain and cramping-,Prescription Zofran -antacid (dissolvable under the tongue), Prescription Bentyl -nausea and vomiting, and finally, OTC gelucil -chewable -acid reducer.  This cocktail along with 4-5 weed hits, followed by a warm shower and i can finally beat the attacks when they come from time to time.  I've found the warm shower to be a safe place, as long as I'm under warm running water the nausea is alleviated and i can hold down pills till they dissolve without throwing them up.

I have been smoking  weed fairly regularly for about a year now and I have never had any problems, until a few months ago. On NYE I was drinking and smoking quite a bit and ended up throwing up, but I started throwing up blood. I assumed it was from the alcohol and never associated it with weed. Anyways I got pretty sick and was constantly nauseated for 2 weeks after the incident. I went to the doctor and said what happened but left out the smoking part and he said I might have an ulcer and the wrenching from the vomiting caused it to bleed so he put me on ulcer medication and told me not to drink again until I was finished the meds. I followed that, and also didn’t smoke much in that time either. I was finally better, and done my meds so I went out celebrating with my friends. After about a week of drinking and smoking, I started vomiting blood again, but alot more than the previous time so I went to the ER. The doc gave me some meds to help the vomiting and scheduled me for a gastroscopy to see whats going on. Again after this incident I was very very sick for about 2 or 3 weeks after and lost almost 20lbs. I went and got the gastroscopy and am waiting for the results. It has been about 2 months since the last serious incident and I have been a lot better, until a few days ago. I was smoking a lot of weed this past weekend, no drinking, and I woke up early Sunday morning with extreme pain in my stomach and I stated vomiting again. Luckily no blood this time. I was sick allll day, so I obviously didn’t smoke. Since I didn’t smoke on Sunday, I was fine on Monday, my stomach was a bit uneasy, but not vomiting. I decided to smoke again on Monday, and of course I was vomiting on Tuesday again. I am starting to think that the common denominator between all my incidents is unfortunately weed!  Im having trouble wrapping my head around the fact that weed could be making me this sick, but Im not sure what else it could be!  Help?

YES YOU ARE SICK FROM WEED. It is called CANNABINOID HYPERMESIS. I have been smoking Marijuana daily for the past eleven years. Almost 3 years ago I was in the hospital for what was originally diagnosed as Pancreatitis -- and I have since been hospitalized 3 more times since with similar symptoms. The last two visits we all had a revelation - the weed was not the solution - it was the problem. The morning sickness, the hot showers, all of it is Cannabinoid Hypermesis. Some people are very sensitive. I am one of them. If you are experiencing these symptoms STOP SMOKING WEED IMMEDIATELY and I promise you within 1-3 months all of your gastrointestinal problems with EVAPORATE. The reason so many people are in disbelief about this disorder is because it is extremely rare and for most people, weed is perfectly fine. But for some of us it can be very dangerous. I've heard of people having their gallbladders removed, etc. etc. -- all because they didn't know it was the weed all along. When you smoke that much weed over a long period of time the cannabanoids build up in your system and since they have a long half-life they tend to stay inside you for a long time. To "sickfromweed?" and anybody else curious about whether or not the weed is the SOURCE of your stomach problems - the answer is YES. Stop smoking - you will see a difference. Stop before its too late. I spent the last month vomiting, lost 20 pounds, am still basically anorexic and I have ahard time eating food. You can basically chalk this up to severe marijuana withdrawal/addiction. It's not the drug itself per sey, but the fact that your body has been using it for so long to regulate your digestive track -- and that is not normal or healthy. You may still be able to smoke a handful of times a year for recreation - but otherwise - STEER CLEAR. I'm not happy about quitting either - but if quitting weed is all I have to do to feel better - SIGN ME UP! If you are going through what I have gone through I'm sure the decision will be just as easy for you. This kind of pain is simply not worth it. CANNABINOID HYPERMESIS. GOOGLE IT. IT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND. GOOD LUCK AND GODSPEED!!!! ps. I signed up for this site JUST so I could post this - I don't want to see anybody else get hurt like this!!!

Please don't be offended but that is a ridiculous assumption. Something is going on inside of your body and you are blaming it on marijuana?? It makes absolutely NO sense. Have you quit smoking and do you feel better? It seems if marijuana was the problem it would be a pretty easy fix, no?? Sort of a NO-BRAINER??

What did you do to stop the pain and throwing up?

We created Cancer it is created from our man made sh*t fest we call Our home.We humanity are a plague that has created disease and death in every-way possible, from herbicidal warfare(agent orange) to Hiroshima. .So put that in your pipe and smoke it.Also you people should do some research to what your smoking, high CBD level cannabis may be working against you or your stomach,or high THC level cannabis..Some people in life can live with mary, obviously not everyday. And some people CANT.

Nobody here truly understands how cannabis effects the human body, and central nervous system. For you see Cannabis does dictate eating habits aswell as sleeping patterns,Its to be used in moderation. It would feel as tho everyone is looking for a scapegoat for their problems.Heres a tip dont do what "used to make you happy",listen to your body even if your mind doesnt agree sometimes...

Ok, this is for all you newbies. I've had friends who have all had these issues before. The cause ended up being the same for each of my friends. You have to stop swallowing your hits! Inhale only. Many people have flawed inhalation techniques and they also swallow a little bit of smoke when they take a hit. You can't allow yourself to do any kind of swallowing motion with your throat when you are taking a hit, or when you are holding a hit in your lungs. Everyone I know that had these stomach/digestion issues solved them by altering how they take hits, and making sure they don't swallow.
