My doctor told me when it was put in tht my partner may feel the strings. They can be cut shorter if that is the case. Hope that helped!
I have had it for a year and a half it caused my partner to bleed. What will happen if they can't reach the strings to take it out
Tiffanie, can you tell me the results from this??? I too have pain during intercourse. Had a c section in 2014 and had the iud inserted this April. I have been bleeding every day since until just last week (light bleeding up until last week, pain during intercourse the two times we tried + he said it feels weird)

It's just the plastic string of the IUD. She cabbage achually go back to the clinic and get it cut shorter I feel you feel it.

Sounds like it might be a cyst. I had that problem. If it's small enough It usually goes away

I had the same issue for about two weeks. I went back to my doctor and she said I had a bacterial infection due to my immune system being weakened by the stress of getting the IUD in (my experience was terrible and I was kept for observation for hours and had three follow up appts to keep checking on it). I went on a week of antibiotics with a diflucan halfway through and after. Sex is still a little uncomfortable after a month, but the spotting has slowed down a lot and I no longer feel like you described. My period was worse than when I was on the nuva ring, but I'm guessing it'll go away after a while. Hopefully, sex stops hurting soon!

I too have never delivered vaginally, and bleed almost every time after sex. This scared me to think it could be tearing of the uterus...
