Hi I know that this was written over a year ago but how have you been? I have also been diagnosed with tyroid cancer but unfortunate it'd not respond g to radio active iodine so I am on a thyroxine kinase inhibitor called sutent for life. I was told that this was the best cancer to have hogwash as this cancer is just as bad recently had surgery for a suspicious lymph node and had a left eaducal neck dissection.

Did you feel pain in your lungs. I also have papillary thyroid cancer and I am having pain in one of my lungs. I am wondering if cancer had spread into my lungs as well?
Hello Paytsmom, I had my thyroid removed in 2016 and went through the same radioactive iodine treatment - three days in a special hospital room, every surface lined with disposable plastic and paper. If your taste has not returned to normal, I can offer something that worked instantly for me: Chinese li hing mui, or salted, preserved plums or lemons. Way better than the recommended lemon drops, which did not work at all. In Hawaii it is called crack seed - available at a few places online. Best wishes to all of us in our treatments.
