I went to my doctor complaining of heavy periods. Diagnosis was a couple of small fibroid tumors. Doctor recommended Novasure. I had the NovaSure procedure done Feb 2008. It has been a nightmare ever since. I had bleeding for over a month after the procedure. Before, my periods lasted for 5 to 7 days, now my periods last for 7 to 10 days and are just as heavy as they were before. The cramps are 100 X’s worse. I was led to believe by my doctor that I really shouldn’t have a period anymore. I cannot believe that I can only find one complaint on the internet on this procedure. Surely there are other women who are not happy with their results. Where are you and what did you eventually end up doing? HELP
It sounds like something went wrong. I too had this procedure. I did not end up sterile, but my periods are very light, which was my goal after extremely heavy bleeding episodes. Lighter periods is the whole point, and you got 0 results. At this point, I would have an ob/gyn surgeon check me out to see exactly what your surgeon did. The procedure seems to have failed, unless there is some other health issue involved. Get to another doctor right away and get some answers.

I had the procedure 4/4/12. Heard nothing but wonderful things about it and couldn't find anything negative even on the internet. After a "hard sell" from my OB-GYN (whom I had seen due to irregular / heavy periods) I decided to go forward with the procedure. My life has not been the same. Gained 10 pounds in 4 months, and my libido (which had been quite healthy) came to a screetching halt. I would absolutely NOT recommend this procedure to anyone, for any reason. The "cure" was much, much worse than the problem.

I had mine done 3 days ago an so far so good. When I went in the office that morning I took to nausea pills then 15 min later I took two percocet and one Xanax waited 30 min and then they took me in the back and gave me a shot of toradol the Dr came in an numb up my cervix and dilated it which did not hurt a bit. I was very shocked he waited for a bout 10 min for it to get numb and came in an did the nova sure I was not ready for the pain it hurt so bad for 90 seconds I breath through it and it was over in no time. I had no cramps at all and still don't that 90 seconds was the worst but if you can manage through it then you are done no more pain I slept all the way home and slept til 6 pm that day. I recommend it to anyone one. 3 day and I am pain free still.
