I first had my Paragard IUD in when I had my first daughter back in 2011. I had it for about 1 yr and a half, had it taken out 3/7/13 when we wanted to get pregnant with our second. I had gotten my period 3/3/13, so 3 weeks later I ovulated and on 4/5/13 I got my positive pregnancy test. Got a second Paragard after I had my second daughter, had it for a little over 2 years. Just got it removed 5/18/16 bc we want to try for a 3rd baby, but I wanted to give my body a break so we used protection. Got my first period after getting it removed on 5/25/16 and then on 6/11/16, after that last one we stopped using protection, but I am already on day 43 of my cycle and all negative tests and no period either. This is so frustrating bc my cycle is normally 30-34 days. I see a lot of woman have gone through this but I just don't have the patience I guess

I'm in a similar situation and it's driving me crazy! I had a Mirena IUD placed after I had my daughter in 2014 and had regular periods the entire time it was in. We've decided we want a second baby, so I had it removed. The first day of my last period was 7/21, Mirena was removed 7/27, I had what looked like implantation bleeding 8/12-8/13. It's now 8/24 and I've taken 4 HPTs - all negative, but still no period.

I had the paragard for 3 years at first i didnt get my period for 8 months.. Then when i finally got my periods they were 7 days long. Anyway after that i didnt have a period again for like 8 months straight.. So i decided to remove it thinking something was going on. Now its been 2 months since i took it out but still not period yet and negative pregnancy tests last month. Just waiting to test again. Since my fiance and I had sex a week ago. And it takes 10-12 days for conception. I Being having pregnancy symptoms like: bloated.vivid dreams.nose bleeds.headaches.back pain.pelvic pain.and lots of cravings! Anyone had something similar?

Hi ladies, I've had the iud in for a total of 13 years. I had 2 girls by age 24. Doctor said to try the iud. I love it! No periods, moods are great, and no weight gain. I replaced the first one after 6 years (30 yrs old). That was the worst pain I've ever had! Including labor and delivery. With Child birth, I was given pain relief. Doctors didn't give me any pain medication nor warned me of the pain during the iud replacement. Pain went away in a day.
So another 6 years passed. No periods or craps. But the time has come to get it replaced. I was 36 years old, no baby plans. I gathered enough courage to get the iud inserted again after removal. Again! Worse pain ever! The pain didn't go away for 3 days. I decided to remove it myself (FYI: it was easy, quick and almost painless to remove alone) I thought to myself....if I get pregnant at my age then it was meant to be.
Well it's been 2 1/2 months (79 days) and I still haven't had a period. I'd guess after day 6 of removal I have light brown spotting for a day. So I became more excited of the thought of getting pregnant again! I was getting married to the man of my dreams! And wanted a child with him. My breasts are and have been very tender and the nipples are larger then normal. I've been very moody and sometimes feel bloating in my uterus. I've taken pregnancy tests and all negative.
After reading other posts, I should patiently wait at least 4-6 more months for a period.....it will be strange to bleed again. 13 years is a long time. I will update

Hello, I'm in a similar situation. 37 years old and had my Paragard IUD in for 9 years. We removed it 7 months ago but still no period. My doctor had me take a progesterone treatment 2 weeks ago in an attempt to induce my period but nothing. What was the outcome for you?

I had an iud for 8 months and when I took it out I was pregnant a week later. After pregnancy I got the iud again this time for almost two years. When I took it out I had heavy clotting period for about a week. This is one month later no period and no pregnancy. Im having pregnancy symptoms and drive myself and man crazy with test which all come back negative. We are hoping to conceive soon but it's just not working. After reading everyones comments I hope having iud doesn't damage the body from getting pregnant.

I would love to hear an iud story that she had it in for a long time took it out and eventually got pregnant

I removed Mirena in feb 18 2017. I did not have my periods for 4 months in June I went to my doc and gave me tablets to induce periods. The bleeding was so heavy that I had to go back to him to stop the bleeding after 9 days. After that incident I did not get my periods again. My scan report shows everything is fine and normal.
