My appetite has always been bad, but in the past few months things have really taken a turn for the worse and now I can barely eat at all without feeling full immediately, like my stomach has shrunk. This has led to a lot of rapid weight loss as of late. I suffered from BDD in high school, and now have a BMI of 18.48 which coupled with some really unhealthy thought patterns and attitudes towards eating is what brought me here. I have always been thin, but knowing something is different than feeling it when you look in the mirror.

In response to the marijuana question, I actually agree with the first post. I smoke somewhat regularly (~3x a week) and while smoking can make me hungry, it does not always happen. Smoking regularly wrecks your body's ability to recognize hunger signals when you aren't smoking, which is why many stoners can't eat without weed. Food also tastes much more bland without it, so eating has become even more unappealing than it already was. Food just isn't satisfying anymore, even things I used to love.

So this band-aid solution to my appetite problems isn't helping me anymore and has probably made it worse. I've taken some diagnostics that point to me having an ED, but I hope to see someone soon. What's funny is that my current weight (117.8 lbs) was actually my goal weight for a long time. But now that I've reached it, I'm not happy—just afraid. I want to be normal again.

I'm 20 and for a while I wanted to loose weight after havi g my baby i did every diet to get rid of my stomache all the wprk outs .....now o barley weight 102 and i cant eat more than twp bites . i want to eat though llz help i nprmally weigh 140 i had DDD boobies now im at a b .!!

Please look into motility issues. I don't eat breakfast or lunch because I'm still full from dinner the night before. Often times I throw up after dinner and there's food from days before but that's because I have Gastroparesis.

This is the problem I have. no Dr can figure it out it's gotten so bad for me that iv had to start smoking weed just to be able to eat feels like my stomach just spinning on the inside it's a horrible feeling

I have a thyroid issue doctor's are no help because I've asked for something due to the pain of trying to eat I know her feeling and it's never fun literally laying jus makes you feel sick , your ribs start to hurt .

Honestly regular marijuana use could be the most natural and effective way to treat her symptoms

obviously, your daughter has an eating disorder. may not be anorexia since she is eating a little during evening meal. It may be EDNOS (eating disorder not specified). get her to a therapist. and make sure it is a YOUNG female. those work best with teenage girls. if she says the therapist isn't helping, get a new one for her. encourage her to drink something with lots of nutrients (and calories) for breakfast. drinking isnt the same as eating, so she may be more ok with it. gradually get her to eat more and more. Also, if she relapses, tell her you noticed and just hug her. she will change soon, and get better.

This isn't normal, but it is my norm! I have always had issues with eating associated with my IBS. But when I have even mild stress in my life its a nightmare, I'm never ever hungry which results in feeling gross all the time from not eating, weight loss, my immune system goes down, and every time I start to eat within 5-15 mins I'm on the toilet. My doctors have tried meds but they all hurt my stomach, especially because its raw from no food in it. My solution is riding it out, if I have a day where I'm actually able to eat, I milk it and try to help my body want food, its kind of a force feeding but it seems to help turn things around for me when its getting bad. After about a week I stop going to the toilet so much after eating. Water is so important too, I forget to drink and the dehydration makes me not hungry. Although I have been told this is just how my stomach functions, I have also been told its possible my stomach functions abnormally due to being 2 months premature. My biggest triggers are coffee and carby foods, and to much pop or sugars. "Food" for thought :P I know its been a year since you posted this, but if your daughters anything like me, her stomach problems are going nowhere lol

I am going through this exact thing right now and have been for over a year. I know it’s not anorexia because I actually fear losing weight and hate the lack of energy I feel from not eating enough but anxiety and stress make my stomach feel so nauseous that I can’t eat anything without feeling like my stomach will immediately reject it I feel like I am forcing myself to eat most of the time. I don’t feel hungry at all until later in the afternoon every day either. I want to eat and I want to gain healthy weight I’m not focused on calories or anything like that so I know my situation is more unique than just an e/d. I fear throwing up as well. Have you gotten any help since you commented? How are you?

Hey, I too struggle with this and I’ve searched for people who have the same issue mine was due to stress and work.. that caused me to est less and less.. now i struggle to eat and I want to very much I want to gain weight but the sight of food makes me sick at times .. I can sit for a meal and everything will be soooo dry when I chew that it doesn’t go down.. if it does by the third bite I’m feeling nausea.. have you found a solution with your daughter?? I hope you have..

If I may, I have an illness called Gastroparesis(GP), and although you haven't said much about your symptoms it sounds like you should talk to a GI specialist... Best of luck to you mate, and I hope it's not GP

I havnt Eaton in a week and now if I do eat anything I just feel sick and get stomach cramps what can I do to be able to eat again and I always feel full that's why I don't eat much normally any ideas on that too any help pls

Start doing yoga n eat bland foods frackers n baby food and lots of water no soda
