wow what a interesting thing to do, as for tea tree you can use it on tampons for thrush as well. It clears it up much faster no long messy days of creams and suppositories, simply put 2 to 3 drops of pure tea tree in a teasppon of olive oil then soak it up with tampon and insert, be sure to make a mix for the partner to use on his penis, my hubby did one time and it turns the thrush like white and simply flakes off in 48hrs, no soreness or splits in skin etc, less expensive treatment too

I feel relieved. I have had the same symptoms after three bouts of cystitis in two months. It was treated with antibiotics - is clear - but the discomfort in my urethra persists.

Can anyone also please tell me why on earth I only get cystitis when on holiday or away from home for a prolonged period? My doctor says it is a common complaint of women but no explanation. By the way, it is NOT caused by sex as our sex life (my husband and I) is no different when on holiday.

Hey ladies, ok so for a few days I am ok symptom free, finally. Try Juniper tablets that worked a bit for me but then I went back the doctor had a urine test, which is clear and she even had a look and all is normal, she gave me Hiprex a anti bacterial antiseptic tablet and I take 2 a day for 10days, by 2 days I was symptom free. You cant have alkalisers when using the hiprex as it needs the urine to be acidic to work. Other then that try applying calendula cream after you wash, stop using any wash products or soap and wash with sorbelene cream.Pat dry after going to the bathroom make sure paper is scent free.Wear loose pants no nylon no jeans nothing tight near it. Hope you all get better soon.Oh and cut back all sugar, drink water and cammomile or decaf teas/coffees, no sodas.

Hello and I hope to the guest who is now pregnant that you found help with this horrid discomfort, I used cranberry everyday especially after sex which dont really help me much, buy calendula cream its all natural wont hurt you or the baby and after you wash(with water and no soap) apply some to that area, after you urinate use it as well if need be, its used on babys nappy rash as a soothing antiseptic cream. Also you could get a juniper mixed with horsetail, uva ursi but I would go to a naturopath and get it made specific for pregnancy make sure no herbs can harm the bub, I am on hiprex now day 9 I am up to and it seems to have got rid of all the irritation finally, another natiral non harmful chinese remedy is, boil 200gms green sting beans, then simmer for 10mins, eat beans if u want but u need to driink the water they bpoiled in,I find this helpful, and if u take hiprex u cant use any alkalizers the urine needs to be acidic for hiprex to work, let us know how its all going, I have to correct something Annamia said, the ural is an alkalizer and its simply for the patient to get relief from urine thats concentrated and burning but if you use cranberry, vitc in high dose or hiprex thay all work on the concept of making the urine very acidic which kills off bacteria and stops it clinging to the walls in there, I cant use ural nomore because of the sodium levels in it, better off with lots of fresh water and drop a cranberry tablet for the discomfort. In UK and USA they have over counter things for this made by AZO, test strips, cranberry pills and some other thing us Aussies cant get that is supposed to do wonders but makes the urine bright orange.Good luck all, oh and cant believe being told to get pregnant when pregnancy causes pressure on all the bladder area and gets worse as ypou get bigger if your prone to this problem

Hello, I have been having this problem for nearly 3 months. I had a new sexual partner, and few days later started having burning sensations in urethra area, painful full bladder, getting worse at night. It doesn't hurt to pee, but full bladder gets very very uncomfortable and burning. Also it does hurt to sit. My partner had no symptoms and always tested negative for STDs. Went to GYN, tested negative on STDs and negative on UTIs. It showed some bacteria, so had several different antibiotic treatments which helped for about a week, even though the symptoms didn't go completely away, and about a week later getting worse again. I feel embarrassed to go to my GYN for the fifth time. Not sure what to do next, thinking to go to a general Practitioner or to Urologist, because most of the symptoms I have are in the urethra. What tests should I request? Did anyone finally found the answers? Any advice? Thank you in advance.

Thank you for the info. I ll ask my GYN about Hiprex. I do drink plenty of water everyday. Any alternatives to cranberry? I am allergic to it.

I read that cranberry was not the truth and the light for kidney/bladder infections. I have had many visits with urologist and am considering a connection to low thyroid, low immune system. Still researching and will post what I find..
I also know from a cousin that family genetics, on my Dad's side that kidney/bladder has been problematic

High doses of vitamin C can be helpful, like down 1000mgs of Vit C after sex and for 2 days, it creates an acidic environment there to stop bacteria clinging to the walls, also the juniper berry helps or uva ursi is also known to cure uti you can get combinations of these at health stores and the 1 i got was sold as a dieretic so can only be taken 2 to 3 days at a time, but ask for a naturopath advice, be careful using herbal supplements some of them have side effects just like dr meds.Cranberry is a blood thinner so people need to be aware of that too.

Thank you so much for all your helpful information. What I really don't understand is that I am 40 years old and have never had any problems before. Why do I have it now? I am so confused and disturbed. I am in a great health, take my supplements, don't eat junk food, never drink sodas etc. Can't believe that traditional medicine is still so very primitive.

I've posted on here previously about my issues as j or jet I believe my symptoms have stayed away however it's been about a month and now I'm itchy started day 3 of taking antibiotics I'm not sure if they caused issues for me or what but I guess it's another doctor visit! I haven't noticed any uti or bladder issues since I went to urgent care but I've tried everything for this new annoying thing I have going on I know it was from antibiotics figured it would go away but it hasnt ... Keeping hopes up if it's not one thing it's another! Lol being female is a lot of work! ;) I would try the non medication route first but remember you may need additional help as we are one of a kind. My faith in medicine and doctors has decreased this past week when the doctor that my parents see as well as myself missed something pretty big and my dad ended up having a heart attack--so be safe ask tons of questions and make sure you feel satisfied when you walk out of that office!!

I will try this. And I just hit 4 years of no sex, but am sure I have thrus/candidia .. We all do Thanks!

itchy after antibiotics most likely is thrush/candidia, natural methods include not only eating yoghurt but using natural sugar free yoghurt on a pad, messy as ever, my choice of natural remedy which is fast and easy is to combine 3drops pure tea tree oil in a teaspoon or tablespoon of olive oil soak this up with a tampon and insert it for an hour, do this 2 to 3 times a day at fiorst sign of thrush, the man can smear this mix on himself as weel to get it off him if he has the spots, this method does not cause me any pain or stinging like the medicated creams do, which i found cause splits in the skin there, not fun. Oh and stop all sugar it will feed the thrush
