I'm 27, been happening for a good 3 years.
1) Only happens when drinking alcohol, anything over 2 beers will cause it.
2) The more alcohol the longer the pain lasts
3) Only happens after masturbation, intercourse/BJ's don't cause it.
4) Doesn't feel like an itch to me, more so like a constipation in my penis
5) I also sometimes get a poop constipation
Hot shower kinda helps but not enough. Because of #3 I tend to agree with a lot of other people on it having something to do with an incomplete ejaculation, I think for me intercourse doesn't cause it because i get a full ejaculation when i'm with a girl. I also think this may be because I don't have sex all that often so when i do i am fully stimulated and i have noticed my ejaculation is often double the amount of fluid when with a girl as opposed to masturbating alone.
And yeah, doctors suck. I haven't been to one for this issue but any other problem i have had that i cant self diagnose myself through the internet has left me unsuccesful in the doctor's office as well. They don't even seem to listen most of the time.

That cramp theory has some weight to it in my logical head.
My husband is the one experiencing these symptoms, so after reading these posts, I have a few questions to ask him. The only thing that seems to be different with him than with all of you thus far is that he seems to get the burning after having sex, but not after masturbation. (Yes, he is married and masturbates, which is not a problem for me, btw.) Oh, and he hasn't had it happen after a BJ, just after sex. He thinks it may be me, but I have no symptoms of anything...no itching or burning or discharge. I also suspect he is having trouble with his prostate - urgent feeling to pee and only getting a dribble, or urgent to pee and can't get it started. Anywho, has anyone had trouble with this only after sex and not after masturbating or getting a BJ?
BTW, we have been married 23 years and there is no doubt in my head that this is from an STD. :-D

I am 28 and this has been happening as long as I can remember since I have been drinking alcohol. My symptoms are exactly as the original poster stated.
For me, it is directly tied to alcohol. I have also gotten this a couple times after smoking marijuana. This has never happened sober and almost always happens if I've had more than a couple drinks.
I have noticed that if I stop drinking a good 30-60 minutes or more before intercourse, I can prevent this. I make sure that all my urine is out before I even get aroused. This usually takes 2 good pees after I am done drinking, depending on how much I drank of course.
This only happens if I have to pee inside of 30 mins of an ejaculation. Usually my erection never goes completely away, it will remain slightly chubby. I always try to prevent this but if I have been drinking any kind of significant amount of alcohol I just can't hold it that long.
Sitting on the can for a good 30 mins while reading book is the only relief I have found. I usually have the urge to poo as well so that does help a bit.
This sucks because a) alcohol makes it easier to get in sexual situations to begin with and b) i can usually perform better and last longer if i have been drinking. but how embarrassing is it when you're at a chicks house and you need to go sit in her bathroom for 30 mins after sex.

Glad to find this thread.
I'm 26 and it's been happening for 5 years. Similar to many others, I've found that it's almost always related to alcohol (this required setting up a spreadsheet to track all of the possible factors - yes, I was that motivated). Aside from that, I have a lot of the same insights and ideas as other people. Nothing definitive yet though.
Possible theories about alcohol:
- it burns the inner surfaces that are sensitive due to the abrasion/fluids?
- being a diuretic, it makes you urinate more, and then urination could actually somehow be the main factor
- it relaxes or causes muscles to tense up? leading to incomplete finishes or perhaps muscle cramps (as someone above suggested)?
I've also found that large amounts of ibuprofin can help. Sometimes I'll take about 4 of them and it helps to deal with the pain or even to prevent it from happening.
Best overall theory I have so far:
Alcohol somehow leads to incomplete ejaculation, which causes a buildup of fluids in the prostate (or around that area). The semen is alkaline and starts to irritate the tissues, leading to inflammation and the urge to urinate. The alcohol probably makes the irritation even worse, or is maybe even the root cause of the irritation. As the fluids are gradually cleared, the inflammation goes down.
Supporting evidence:
- many websites warn against drinking alcohol if you have prostatitis (because it irritates)
- ibuprofin is an anti-inflammatory
- bowel movements put pressure on the prostate, so this likely squeezes it and helps it to clear the built up fluids
- seems to depend a bit on position - sitting or standing up afterward seem to help, while lying down make it worse
- the warm water theories probably help because they relax the muscles, allowing fluid to drain more easily
- this was the best argument given to me by a urologist (who was otherwise useless)
I hope someone figures this out soon!

I'm 19. I'm experiencing it now. I think I can help this discussion by ruling out some possible causes.
1. I haven't had alcohol for a couple of weeks. So I don't think it is the culprit. There have been many instances where I have had this problem although I has no alcohol.
2. It is definitely not an STD as I haven't been having sex.
For me it's not so much an itch but a constant feeling of needing to piss. When I first got the problem earlier, I tried to ejaculate a second time in hope that it would clear. It was hard to ejaculat considering the discomfort and the eventual ejaculation did not provide relief. I can't say as to whether the second ejaculation made things worse though, I think the discomfort is the same.
I believe the cause of this problem has something to do with water in the bladder as I had drunk a glass before I ejaculated. I find the best cure for me is drinking a lot of water and then holding out on the need to pee for a while until you can make a substantial release.
I do not know if this is relevant, but an earlier person menioned that they have a weak bladder and thought there might be a relation. I would just like to say that I have a weak bladder too. I tend to pee more often and of smaller amounts (I can achieve ugh pressure though).
Anyway, happy it's over. 2.30am local time now. Need sleep. Gnight :-)

I'm 21 and have had this problem for several years, though not nearly as bad as most of these responses - bad enough to Google it, though.
I've never noticed any connection to alcohol consumption, and in fact I'm inclined to think it's not a direct cause - I've had this issue many times when I hadn't had a drink for a while, so it's probably just a contributing factor.
I tend to urinate within 5-15 minutes after sex - even if my bladder's empty, or damn close, I invariably feel like I need to use the bathroom. There's a strong, sharp pain just before the stream begins, and then it gradually subsides into a light, dull pain by the end of it, tapering off entirely a few minutes later. I've also noticed that during urination, the stream tends to be broken up a bit, like it's struggling to get out. Basically feels like a battle between leftover semen and urine, with urine prevailing every time.
Anyway, while I've never been super-concerned about this (since I guess it just made sense - "the tubes are clogged!"), I am nonetheless relieved to know for sure that this is a common problem that many other men have experienced.
Also, for the record, there is a definition for this - under "Razorpiss". Seems a suitable name.

i have this 'feeling'.
i wouldn't class it as a pain, more an annoyance like a cold, it's not something that immobilises me, just something that i could do without and read on and i'll think you'll find i could!
unlike previous posters i only get this after 'monking the hood', not intercourse, and i only get it if i have had alcohol and continue to consume alcohol after.
i'm not sure what the 'cure' is (for me abstiance of masturbation when drinking, i don't get it if i have intercourse during drinking and then drink after).
i'm guessing it's to do with the hormones the body releases during sex and alcohol.

I have this type of problem myself, age 26. If I urinate shortly after masturbating, I get a burning sensation and I constantly have the feeling that I have to pee, and when I do, it's minor amounts that starts off feeling relieving and ends in that same burning sensation usually making my whole body tingle. This effect is definitely amplified when I've been drinking alcohol.
I'm 22 and have been experiencing this type of thing for about a year. for me all i can say is that the two factors that need be present are alcohol use and masturbation together will set off the feeling of a nonstop urge to urinate when finished. usually lasts between 1 and 2 hours.
I experience the same thing and have done for around 2 years, it only occurs after drinking alcohol...even the smallest drop. Very frustrating....anyone know if this 'process' has a name?
I am 38 and have had this problem off and on since I was 13. I have it with or without alcohol and it can happen anytime I ejaculate, not just after masturbation. Here's what I've observed over the years. First, for me it is worse if I am sitting or lying down. If I stand up it goes away after about 10-15 minutes. If I sit or lie down, it takes about an hour and the intensity is worse. Second, it is definitely a muscle thing. It took years for me to realize this, but if you reach down below your balls and sort of massage the muscles down there you will definitely realize that is the source of the pain. You might have to push in and rub all around until you find the spot where the muscle cramp is happening. Massaging doesn't make it go away immediately, but it makes a big difference in intensity and duration. Once I realized for sure that it is a muscle cramp issue, a lot of things started to make sense - like why peeing makes it feel better for a second, why sitting/lying makes it worse (the muscle gets extended when you stand), and why it seems like it's worse when I'm stressed or exercising a lot. Anyway, that's what I've learned over the years.
I too suffer from this. I'm 36, and this has been going on for as long as i can remember. Really good to know i'm not crazy. I definitely should have googled this years ago.
I wish i could pinpoint how or why it happens. It definitely happens alot more often after drinking alcohol, than without. But Ive had it happen many times over the years both w/ alcohol and without. I'd probably have to say more after masturbation than intercourse. But it always seems to be at a horrendous time. (Random woman's place, new girlfriend, etc...Ugh...So embarrasing!)
It also always seems to be at night. I really can't remember it ever happening during the day. Not sure if this is psycho-sematic or what but its just an observation.
I'm just curious after reading all these posts if we all have one thing in common. I just wanted to see if this was because of a time/length issue?? I personally, seem to take forever to ejaculate. Whether with a woman, or alone. It can be very frustrating at times. I feel like I can go forever. I've often wished i was a "2 pump chump", but then i'd probably just be writing the opposite.
Anyway...just wanted to see if all of us were more on the same side. Taking forever vs. taking 5 minutes.
Doctors are useless. We're on our own to figure this one out. Lemme hear your side. 2 pump or 2 long??

Someone on another thread (or maybe it's this one) that it's just because you've got something basic (as in semen) in your urethra as you push something acidic (urine) through, so it creates a bit of a chemical reaction. I hadn't thought of it that way but it does seem to make sense. What do you guys think?
im 26 been having the same problem since i could remember getting off always after alcohol and when i was younger if i had to many soft drinks.
the best i can tell its cpps. ( cronic pelvic pain syrdrome) or prostatitis
i at random times get a pian under my penis and balls in the area before your anus. anyone else?
but i will say im so glad as many of you to find lots of people having this problem. i agree mentally you can help it by thinkin about something else that will help in relaxing. i would like to get some muscle relaxers and try it and see if it helps. also standing does help.
i also have hpv how many more ppl have it on here? but the problem predates when i first had an outbreak by years but that sh*t can stay dormant.
and yes it can be very embarrassing especially with a new girl she thinks you got an std. however i always throw in the "IM SICK BABE BE OUT IN A LIL BIT" hopefully if you hit it right shes asleep by the time your back in bed.
