I do not know for sure - but I have a theory (this happens to me too and I HATE IT!)
Okay - well we all know that Urine has Uric acid in it.
We also know that presemeninal fluid (precum) and Semen (cum) contains lovely little things called proteins (for those lovely little sperm)
Also - there are 2 tubes leading to your urethra (because you are a male...) one is the tube that will end out your semen, the other sends out urine.
Usually during intercourse the brain subconsciously tells the muscle around the urinary tube to close tand the seminal one to open.

My theory is that when you pee REALLY soon after ejaculation then the tube for the semen is not yet closed, and when you CONSCIOUSLY open your urinary tube (and it takes a few seconds i know). the uric acid kinda burns off the tiny part of the semen tube that it comes into contact with.

It also burns out the proteins etc found in the fluid residues in the tube and on your penis. Simple. Hence the burning feeling...
This is only GOOD scientific estimating... But there is a prety much proven cure.

to make sure this does not happen - after intercourse, ejaculation or whatever, simply wait at least 2 minutes. This may sound weird (trust me, it's weirder to be writing it) but make sure your penis is literally out of cum squeeze it and make sure you're finished. Wait a minute or three, then go pee. P.S. If you already HAVE the pain - a thorough wash under the shower of your penis head and piss slit usually gets rid of the pain.

Thank God I have found other people like me. I have been struggling with the same issue for over two years now. When i was younger it would happen every once in awhile, maybe once a year so i thought it was just a UTI. However 3 years ago it started happening more frequently and now I feel like it happens everytime i drink (beer or liquor). It is so frutsrating bc I went to see a urologist, had all types of painful exams, CT scan with dye, urine analyst, blood work and took Leviquin 500mg for a month. I also just recently had hernia surgery but I dont think they relate. All the tests came back negative and my doc just said i was a medical mystery. I have been depressed about it but I am so glad i came across your situation bc I feel somewhat relieved that I am not the only one. I am looking for answers, may it be naturally or medically and I hope we can help each other.

22 M, and I was looking this up to make sure it wasn't an STD( I don't sleep around, but felt I could have got unlucky). At first I thought it was something to do with the condom, maybe the latex or something. But after googling it(and finding this site) I know I'm not alone, so I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has posted on here, it's given me a since of "security", even though it still burns after every intercourse session.

Mine only really burns for about 45 min, then I can feel it(not as much) for another hour after that. The only thing I've noticed is that eating soon after, and drinking water(I don't drink cokes/alcohol, just water/juices) helps me feel better, I don't know if just taking the mind off of the burn.

Again, thanks everyone.

Sometimes it is the latex but I found out for me that it's a reaction with the basic semen in the urethra combining with the acidic urine, which causes a slight chemical reaction. It makes sense. Had you heard that?

Wow, can't begin to explain the relief I feel after finding this thread. Didn't even know what to google.

I've had this problem since I was about 13 (28 now) and have never been able to pin down the exact problem. I find that if I urinate or have a bowel movement right before or directly after my chances are 50/50. I was convinced for a long time that it was a prostate thing and was even treated for prostatitis as a precaution. The feeling I get is a slight burning in my urethra, dull pain above my penis and feel like I constantly have to urinate (and trying to urinate make the problem worse). The only way I've found to eleviate the pain is to lay on my stomach with something, like a ball or rolled up socks, pressed into my pubic region or try to have a nap. This doesn't always work but is the best I've come up with.

I look forward to hearing more from people going through the same c**p as me, it's comforting to know I'm not alone or crazy.

I'm 15 now, and this has been happening pretty much EVERY time I urinate. It's much worse if i masturbate before though. I've stopped masturbating for about 3 days, and eve though the pain is more mild, i still cannot empty out completly. It almost feels jammed. I notice that when i pee after masturbating it burns, but when i milk my uritha, a sticky half-pee half-ejaculate comes out. I don't know why or what it is, but it makes me anxious and depressed. I don't know if its an STD, because ive only had intercourse twice with the same girl, once with a condom once without, when i was 14. But i don't drink. So im stumped. we need to go protest or something. it seems trivial enough to cure..

To the 15 year old who posted last...

If you are having pain every time you urinate, you may have a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) or STD. You need to get checked out by a doctor ASAP. Letting this go without having it checked can result in serious long term effects like sterility or even death.

Yeah, I got the same thing as several of you posters. After drinking 2 beers or more and masturbating, just as i am falling asleep. I have to pee and pee constantly or else I have an incredibly uncomfortable feeling. I think the problem is incomplete ejaculation. I have discovered a cure though. At least it works for me. Masturbate again, but this time do not ejaculate. I masturbate until the pain goes away and the rest of the fluid comes out on its own without ejaculation. It helps to rub the tip of the penis roughly while masturbating (I rub my palm very quickly back and forth over the tip), this helps the fluid come out. Be sure not to ejaculate! Or else you'll have to do it again. I have gone through several cycles of this myself.

My theory is the remaining semen blocks the path to the bladder and the urine that is being created goes straight to the urethra, thus giving you a constant need to urinate. Why this only happens with alcohol (for me) I don't know but I sure would like to know. ALso if there is a name for this condition I would also like to know.

in my case am 22 i felt this pain even before i was active, i will have to say that it usually seems to be cause by hard agitation of the pennies per say having hard sex or if stroking aggressively. it might irritate the urethra to and the urine causes the burning.

I've been getting this for about 16 years (29 now) and it's amazing how similar the symptoms are everyone mentions and the fact that no one has got a satisfactory response from a doctor.

I think it relates to weak ejaculation and then the semen getting stuck in the urethra. If you piss into a glass and have a look i think you'll find little floaties in there that look like semen after it comes in contact with water (Yes I've pissed in a glass to help self diagnose). Although having said that I've never pissed into a glass when i haven't had the burning sensation so it's a pretty weak scientific conclusion.

I think alcohol contributes to the weak ejaculation and hence why people tend to get it after grog.

I find a warm water helps but I've gotten so used to it over the years I now just grab a book and sit it out on the toilet.

Interesting reading these posts... i've been having this problem for a couple of years (23 now), but it always happens after drinking some amount of alcohol. It usually takes around 30 minutes to go away. Glad to hear other people are having this problem and it's not some std I picked up!

Wow, its good to know I'm not alone. I get this after drinking or being dehydrated and either having sex or masturbating. Thank you everyone for the tips and shame on the medical community. The doc I saw just gave me antibiotics (which never helped) and told me basically to suck it up.
