Hey everyone, Martin here. On Jan 28th of 2016 I got a really bad tension headache. I don't normally get headaches. This one was so awful I went home from work. Since then (today is March 1) every day I've had a horrible headache with stabby sharp pains at the temple (right side only) and pressure/pain that radiates from my ear to my cheek and upper head. I really don't know what's wrong but these symptoms sound similar to ones I've seen on this post. The pain which was except in the beginning just on my right side has somewhat subsided but I still have an area near the temple of ache plus pain when I press at the temple and above the ear. Dr gave blood tests for inflammation and says those are not finding anything. Haven't had a CT scan. I'm sure interested in the solutions people find here. It is sure scary...Also, I've had what I think is nerve pain in my left arm with twitching and periodic episodes of pins and needles. Not sure how that may relate but I suspect some kinda auto immune disorder. Temporal arteritis appears caused by auto immune issues so I'm wondering if there's a correlation.

Tmj causes headaches, facial aches, jaw pain, ear problems etc. I went to a tmj specialist who reduced my symptoms half.

I had the same thing. I figured out that it was because I was grinding my teeth. Once I consciously was able to stop doing that the pain has gone away. It took about a week or so for the pain to be gone but lowers a little every day until gone.

I have the same pain in the same area as yourself. I did some research and found that it can be referred pain from a number of things. i.e. vascular arthritis, neck problems(arthritis), holding phone too tight against you head or for too long. At any rate, Keep a journal and see your doctor soon.
Good luck I would interested in what it turns out to be

Do you know if you grind your teeth at night? This is the same spot that is contracted when you bite down. Just an idea.

I've noticed the same kind of feeling as in bruising. Over the last few weeks, but only seem to feel it when I put on my make up / take it off or when i raise my eyebrows or frown:s my pain is more near the eyebrow than the hairline and on the right side. Any ideas??

I have it too. I have been under a lot of stress lately and wondering if that is it. Ibuprofen helps only for a short time then its back feels like two hands pressing on my temples.
