I was 5 week pregnant. i opted for medical abortion. sunday morning i took my 1st pill. Slight bleeding started with no pain. I started to take my antibiotics .Then it was going alright. But tuesday morning after taking the 2nd dose of pills, I experienced the worst cramp of my life. I took the painkiller and slowly fell to sleep after crying vigorously. that day I bled moderate with coin size clots. Otherwise I was quite ok for 2days. Then after 2 days, I had this severe cramping and bleeding but did not take any pain killer. I was afraid and called my doctor. She didnot give me any specific answer and told me that this cramping and bleeding might vary from woman to woman. I have taken my day off from job for 7 days and now i am taking rest. now after 4 days slight cramping is coming and going and im bleeding. I do really feel that my vagina is swollen and sometimes I am feeling a sharp pain in my lower abdomen. I dont know whether its is normal. My skin is also getting worse.

I had an abortion on march 10th so nearly a month ago went on the pill straight after and had my first period Sunday night and I can honestly say this is properly worse than when I had the abortion....the pain is sooooo intense and sometimes unbearable, still passing a few clots but not as big as when I had the abortion...I rang the ward today as the pain was just to much to handle felt like I was in labour! The doctor told me that it is all normal all it is is the medical abortion finishing mixed with a normal period which is why the pain is so intense, I've been in pain now for about 2 nearly 3 days and I just want it over with!!!! I keep waking up in the night with such intense pain and bleeding so only been getting 4 hours sleep...I have to drag myself out of bed for work cannot even walk to work its that painful but can't have time off as I had a lot of that after I had the abortion to let my body heal and they weren't happy even then that I had time off!! I went back on my pill on Monday morning so hopefully that should start slowing things down a bit although it doesn't look that way at the minute!

Hey guys. I had my surgical abortion on April 13th so about 2 weeks and a half. The day of the procedure I wasn't in much pain just bleeding. They gave me IV sedation that made me feel out of it and that might be why I didn't feel any pain the first day. I was only 7 weeks from my LMP or about 6-7 weeks pregnant. The next day after the procedure I started having cramps and they did hurt but not too horribly bad--I would say moderately painful. I had to take advil every few hours or so to feel better. The cramping finally stopped after about 5 days. The bleeding went on for over a week, I would say about 9 days. Believe it or not, a few days later after I stopped bleeding I had my period! I didn't believe it was my period already until I realized I was bloating, broke out in a bit of acne, and grouchy. And also, my period started at the SAME normal time of month that it always has. So 2 weeks after abortion, I had my period. My flow lasted 5 days. I am starting to feel better. Occasionally, now that it's been just over 2 weeks, I do feel a strange cramping in my stomach which is very light and does not hurt. I am pretty sure that is my uterus still shrinking down to size. Some doctors and nurses mention it takes up to several weeks or a month for your uterus to shrink back down to size. Good luck to all of you ladies. I highly recommend being put to sleep or getting IV sedation for your procedure to help out with any pain.

Hi I had my abortion last Friday, I wonder why ppl use heating pad? My clinic told me to use cold press pad or Ice pack for short, it helps reduce the cramps in the tummy portion. Anything thats hot for ur abdomen for cramping will add the bleeding

I had an abortion 3 days ago 7/15/2013 and today from yesterday to today 7/18 I've been experiencing horrible cramps but then I fart and they go away but when I have to go number two I can only let out a little at a time because I start to cramp REALLY bad and have to get off the tolilet last night I needed to pee so bad before I went to bed but I couldn't because I was cramping so bad this made me cry. But this isn't my first abortion last year around the same time I was 5months pregnant and my doctor told me my baby had a disease that would eventually lead to a miscarriage so they gave me the option of waiting that out or terminating the pregnancy I terminated it after that one I was given codine and I never experienced any cramping or anything my boobs got bigger that's it that's why this time I'm so scared because I have been cramping ever since it was over and it's only getting worse

My in clinic abortion experience was relatively the same. And I too only told a handful of people. My boyfriend and I live together and are best friends and he too doesn't like talking about it. But I urge you as I did him to talk to him and be brutally honest. Otherwise it's going to lead to negative thoughts and emotions. That's what I've told him. I hope you are able to talk to someone or things worked out for you.

I was not expecting this pain after my abortion. I got severe cramps after two days of the surgery and te next day bright red blood came out amd a lot of it. At first I thought something was wrong but after reading this it seems normal. I've never ga such terrible cramping in my life it even hurts my lower abdomin when I pee. I take ibuprofen but it only helps a little. I'm hoping it's just a blood clot like they say but I might as well get a check up of this gets worse.

I am also experiencing fairly painful cramps. I had a medical abortion 4 days ago! Had to be done but i would never opt for medical again! Unessecary pain and extremely scary aswel as intensely painful! I know the pain will cease soon enough, however, i don't know how to explain to work why i can't do certain jobs! Heavy lifting brings on immediate pain, touching my tummy at all burns, my back aches etc. The good thing is that I am not experiencing this alone and u guys are also.. This tells me its a normal reaction.. Thanks for everyone's feedback and wish u a speedy recovery

I went to the same place and experienced almost the exact same things you did and feel how you do. I am up and down about it, I had mine 2 days ago. My nephew is being born now which makes it so hard. I am constantly bringing it up to my boyfriend and he is so supportive but I feel guilty. I feel annoying, depressing, etc. I would like to maybe talk to you.. I'm thinking I wanna find a support group?

I too have had the medical abortion. It is a procedure to be in preparation for. I was prescribed some pain drugs from planned parent hood. But I did not get it filled. Instead I purchased Advil pm. With the sleep additive. I took the second dose of pills about 30 hours later. You have 48 hours to take the second dose. I suggest to wait. Give the first pill time to really prepare for the second. I felt normal in taking the first pill. I took the second dose orally. And took the Advil pm about 30 min before. I took 3 advils.when the pills dissolve in your mouth let the process be slow and do not worry about making sure all that medicine gets down as the pill dissolves within 15 to 30 min you will feel the affect. And you will fill sick. I myself vomitted drinking water for the remainder of the pill in my mouth that didn't naturally push back as the doc told me too. And instantaneously I was sickened and vomitted. Lead by sitting on the toilet for bout another 30 min. This stage is the worse because of cramping, they will feel severe but not abstract. You will have chills feeling cold your legs will shake. Stay strong through this time has relief is given from the first sign of blood. But pain is inevitable. At this time u will feel contractions like work with it push like your letting your bowels loose. You will be gassy and bloated. This is also a system from the first pill gas.At the point where you feel the slightest bit of strength after facing what the worse feels like , the first sign of relief even through the cramps, get up from the toilet. Already have your pad in underwear and panties on legs. Because your legs will be weak. There is no getting around this. Even if you must crawl to your bed or couch to lay down. Take another dose of the Advil pm 1 or 2 pills. And immediately apply heat to your belly . Have blanqet already placed and wrap up u will be cold . Chills, fever, sickness, etc. Are the signs that the drug is working and is too be expected. Because of the sleep additive in the Advil you will go to sleep. Have a towel to lay on you may bleed through. And will wake up only because u feel to change. You will feel better and the worse is over. Truly . The sleep additive helps a great deal through sleep your body heals. This is I would say the best way to go through this emotional and moderate to severe then moderate painful process. Take your time and be an internal listener too your body have food on your stomach. Have your heat pad ready and available. This is a must have element. Have pain medication and a sleep aid . This is a MUST! I took the second dose at night when I was suppose to go to sleep not during the day. So my day would feel better. I was in a position where I had to work during the day. And I made it through. And I was ok. But know that when u r going through the worst of it in the beginingg if you think your strong and got to do something u will call out . In the begining it is no JOKE! You must rest and be prepared. It is now my 7th day and I'm still bleeding but lightly now small clots still, as well and gassy. All things that r expected cramps r very light to none at all. I would say on about the 3rd day I disposed of tendon like tissue . This is where I felt like I lost the pregnancy for I've been pregnant before and miscarried naturally and it looked the same. The process is unknown for most women and it is scary to think of the unknown . I was 6 weeks and I advise this process for someone honestly not past 7 and a half 8 is pushing it even though it still can be performed up until 9. My thoughts on this is because of the growth of the baby at this stage and how much harder it will be on u to pass it. As far as tissues clots etc. Is concerned . This process is for extremely early detection. Please know that in your consideration . For anything later you should have the surgical one done. Just my thoughts though. At 6 weeks my baby had no heartbeat. So I opted this to reduce infection. And UN forseen pain. And honestly the first miscarrsige I experienced was more painful than this process. But it was finished quick once I let go the tissue I was done no excessive bleeding for weeks. I would say that is the primary difference. In the absolute natural way. Not having a drug onset it. I hope this was helpful to the future women who are looking for information.
