I was 5 week pregnant. i opted for medical abortion. sunday morning i took my 1st pill. Slight bleeding started with no pain. I started to take my antibiotics .Then it was going alright. But tuesday morning after taking the 2nd dose of pills, I experienced the worst cramp of my life. I took the painkiller and slowly fell to sleep after crying vigorously. that day I bled moderate with coin size clots. Otherwise I was quite ok for 2days. Then after 2 days, I had this severe cramping and bleeding but did not take any pain killer. I was afraid and called my doctor. She didnot give me any specific answer and told me that this cramping and bleeding might vary from woman to woman. I have taken my day off from job for 7 days and now i am taking rest. now after 4 days slight cramping is coming and going and im bleeding. I do really feel that my vagina is swollen and sometimes I am feeling a sharp pain in my lower abdomen. I dont know whether its is normal. My skin is also getting worse.

Hey guys. I had my surgical abortion on April 13th so about 2 weeks and a half. The day of the procedure I wasn't in much pain just bleeding. They gave me IV sedation that made me feel out of it and that might be why I didn't feel any pain the first day. I was only 7 weeks from my LMP or about 6-7 weeks pregnant. The next day after the procedure I started having cramps and they did hurt but not too horribly bad--I would say moderately painful. I had to take advil every few hours or so to feel better. The cramping finally stopped after about 5 days. The bleeding went on for over a week, I would say about 9 days. Believe it or not, a few days later after I stopped bleeding I had my period! I didn't believe it was my period already until I realized I was bloating, broke out in a bit of acne, and grouchy. And also, my period started at the SAME normal time of month that it always has. So 2 weeks after abortion, I had my period. My flow lasted 5 days. I am starting to feel better. Occasionally, now that it's been just over 2 weeks, I do feel a strange cramping in my stomach which is very light and does not hurt. I am pretty sure that is my uterus still shrinking down to size. Some doctors and nurses mention it takes up to several weeks or a month for your uterus to shrink back down to size. Good luck to all of you ladies. I highly recommend being put to sleep or getting IV sedation for your procedure to help out with any pain.
