I just had a medical abortion 2 days ago. It started within a hour of taking the pills around 6 hours later I started gushing lots of blood and blood clots to the point were I was getting a little dizzy this went on for 5 hours until it slowed up a little bit and I went to bed. I woke up the next day with hardly any bleeding but a very tight feeling uterus. As the day went on the tight feeling lessened but was still there and I got a horrible headache that night. It finally went away and I went to sleep. I woke up today with a little more bleeding then yesterday and still a very tight tender uterus.... is this normal for your uterus to feel like this? I’m getting worried because google says it can be a sign of infection but then other places says it’s normal. Did anyone else have this problem?

Reading everyone’s different stories help, so why not add another on top
I started my little journey with Planned Parenthood, I was 8 weeks pregnant when I started with the medical procedure (I took the pills vaginally) took all the precautions as much as I could.
I didn’t feel much for the first couple of hours then I started lightly bleeding. Then after about 3 hours or so I started feeling severe cramping, sucked got through it. Over all it just felt like an intense period (bad cramps, although light bleeding)
Never passed any kind of big blood clots as I was told that could and probably will happen.
After the next week I started to bleed less and less and I thought everything worked and all was good. Returned to my normal every day life, even had sex about a week and a half or so after (I felt comfortable enough)
Though after that first week into the next I realized how I still felt super bloated and felt cramps on and off so consistently, breasts were beyond tender… Also, taking the pills, I experienced horrible appetite loss, and nausea. I was confused and concerned. I knew something wasn’t right
After 2 weeks the mandatory checkup appointment came around, I explained all my symptoms to the nurse, she had an assumption I was still pregnant
Got in did the ultrasound, was indeed still pregnant, she informed us that the medical procedure was not successful and that growth continued to show with the fetus (absolutely wild)
Got me in that very same day with the “in clinic procedure”
Told me everything that would happen (basically the same process with the pills) they got me on anesthesia, very light sedation was still awake through it but didn’t feel a thing until after the procedure.
Stayed at the clinic till I was able to be released.
Now 5 days later, Tuesday, I have had the worst cramps in my entire life (only 22yrs) but still the worst pain I have ever felt is on day 5
Blood amount is more than compared to the other procedure (probably cause the first didn’t work for me) and idk for anyone else but my blood is very dark (compared to my normal periods) I guess this is normal.
So yeah I know it’s supposed to get better over time (hoping not much longer) but I’m not hearing more and more it will more than likely last about 2 weeks
Even after still have some pain will probably occur
Let me also mention I did get an IUD at the same time as the procedure (as I have never had one) and the nurses all informed me that this is very common and actually a great time for me to get the IUD. So even with just the procedure being a shock to your body, I’m sure it’s a little more interesting for your body to adjust to all the change happening.
As I have done my own little research to see how other women are experiencing this procedure, most have all said overall, with their choice, all have felt relief to some extent.
Great forum that made me feel so much more comfort with my case, hope my story helped someone too.
