I would like to share my experience too. Right now is day 5 of my abortion and I am having terrible pains. I was 6 weeks and 4 days pregnant when I had my abortion. I took the two sets of tablets the same day and I ended up vomiting them out. So I had to go back to get another tablet. I felt fine after that. then 2 hours later I experienced the worst pain of my life. I wasnt at home at the time so I had to rush home. So I recommend going straight home after you've taken the tablets. Don't make the mistake I did and procrastinate. I got home and luckily my mum was home, but because I'm 18 I didn't tell her about the abortion I told her I was food poisoned, I feel bad about that but I don't wanna disappoint her with my decision. I experienced really bad pain, every 3 minutes I felt this shooting pain , it was so strong that I began to vomit. I then had diarrhoea and started passing clots. I didn't think the pain would be as bad but I made sure I drank loads of hot drinks, had loads of rest , took paracetamol too. This helped for a little while. Day 2/3 was fine I didn't experience much pain it felt like a normal period. But then day 4 I was at work and I had to leave early. I'd never experienced such pain in my life. It was absolutely horrible. I told work that I was experiencing really bad pains due to my period etc. Then some colleagues were saying "you won't be able to handle contractions if you cant handle your period pains". But little did they know.. I was experiencing constant contractions.
So now is day 5 and I'm still in loads of pain. I have this shooting pain in my anus , I don't know if it's because I spend my life on the toilet. But I'm thankful I came across all your other stories because I was getting scared thinking the procedure had gone wrong. My advice is to make sure you always have someone with you. I do regret my decision a little ,but im 18 and I want my baby to have the world and unfortunately the dad and I wouldn't of been able to give our precious baby that at this time of our lives. But good luck to all of you. The pain won't last forever so continue staying strong !

Hang in there. I really believe that the doctors should be more informative and help educate their patients on the side effects. I have two children and my pains were by far worse than labor.

I had an abortion with pills one year and a half ago. I had cramps and heavy bleeding that night but everything was pretty normal the next day. I bled for two weeks but just like if I was on my period. I suffer from low blood pressure but my health didn't seemed to be very affected. I had a second abortion last week, 5 days ago. The bleeding that day was heavy with terrible cramps that had me crying a couple hours. The next days the bleeding has been normal, with no clots, a little less than my regular period. But the cramps have been hell. Now, my boyfriend is my only support person and he had to leave the country a day after the procedure, he comes back until next month. Where I live abortion is ilegal and I can't go to see a doctor because they will investigate records to check that my abortion was accidental or needed and made in a hospital with authorization, wich is not the case so I would end up in jail. I live in the border with the USA so I was able to get the pills and information thanks to Internet resources from pro-choice american asociations and did it at home with my boyfriend's support and help. I've been terrified as I did not know either this was normal!! Your post helped me a lot to be more calm, I've been afraid to die for the last 3 days!!!! THANK YOU!!! I agree with you that this should be told and other women should be warned.

Thanks for sharing dear. I also had the same way like you do. Today is my 5th day. Everybody is individual. That's why it happen different way after abortion and it's really harmful to our body. . Hopefully I can go through this another few weeks. Take good care of your body and don't even take a slip of cold drinks, none of it. Your body need to heal up and back to normal. Take good care..

I had a surgical termination done July 29tb and today, August 11th I'm still in a lot of pain. Yesterday I felt good but today is horrible. I can't imagine how much longer this is going to last... and I'm now find ally at the stage of light bleeding. BTW... I was only 4 weeks pregnant when I had mine done so I really don't know why it's so bad. Maybe because it's my first? I did have an IUD put in so maybe that's part of it? I go for a followup august 16th. This needs to end.

Dear, don't abort. Usually women who do end up regretting it. Listen, there are still other places that can help. For instance, your local crisis pregnancy center. They are comfortable places that will provide you with good abortion-free options on what to do with the child. Also they provide free resources like diapers and bibs. Also, adoption is a good idea because then your child will be cared for by a loving family. Also, ignore what other people say. You will not regret adoption at all. Believe me, pain after an abortion is much worse. I speak honestly. I hope you find this useful and I hope things get better for you.

I'm going through almost the exact thing right now. Except I was given a second dose of the medication for fear I had vomited the pills up the first time. It is the most horrendous pain I have ever experienced, and I too have been woken from my sleep in agonizing pain that would not quit for hours. If I could go back I'd do the surgical procedure. This is the worst experience of my entire life. It's like I'm. Being punished for my decision.

The pain is different for everyone. The doctor can't tell you how your body will exactly react to MA. My experience was fairly easy. I was 3 weeks pregnant , and have one child . the pain after taking the 4 pills that cause the contractions and bleeding was there but it was just stronger than my normal period pain nothing pain meds couldn't manage. I had a tingling sensation and itching to my hands. I read that's an reaction to the medication. It lasted couple of minutes and went away. Mild contractions started 2 hours into the process after taking the 4 pills. And lasted for about 2/3 hours , I'm 3 days after and the bleeding is the most annoying part . It's like super heavy period. So don't base what it will be like on someone's experience as they are different depending how far along u were .
