You can get pregnant as soon after you have an abortion!!! You body is very fertile after an abortion or even birth. I got pregnant two weeks after an abortion when I was young and now I have an 8 year old son. So BE CAREFUL IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GET PREGNANT

Bumping this message board because I took it originally as comforting, but want to warn others that if you really are feeling severe pain and ibuprofen/paracetamol aren't touching it- do not ignore the pain.
It's hard to know what is normal. I had a surgical abortion and four days after had pains that felt like I was being ripped in two. I thought it probably was normal and was reassured that my pain was probably slightly worse because I'd had an iud fitted at the same time.
Don't be brave-- I was admitted to the emergency gynaecology unit in hospital where they told me I had an infection and my iud had become dislodged. The pain wasn't normal.
This isn't meant to frighten anyone, but I feel stupid for ignoring such considerable pain.
I've obviously been very unlucky, but ladies, if the pain is getting worse instead of better and not being touched by pain killers, go and get it checked out. Not worth risking.

I did it on 1st Feb. Felt fine after the abortion, no pain or whatsoever. I only had slight spotting on and off for a few days. On 6th February I had the worst cramps ever. I even considered going to A&E. I manage to find this site and felt a little bit better knowing this is normal. But it didnt stop me from crying myself to sleep though. The pain was that intense.

I had a surgical abortion 2 weeks 3 days ago. I experienced sever cramps for about 20 mins after and very light bleeding. The next day it was heavy bleeding and mild cramps. I have blead off and on, and the mild cramps haven't went away. I really hope this goes away soon.

I just had a abortion a week ago at 7 weeks pregnant , and for the last two days every time I have to urinate or have a bowel movement I have shape pains and pressure in my lower abdomen/ uterus, I was just wondering if any one has had this or what may be causing this?

Me too...I'm a week from aborting at 11 weeks ..And it's making me cry...I am panicking because I passed so many clots just starting last night....I didn't know it was going to be like this...I've had one before and I don't remember going through this much this long.....being that I didn't push a baby out I didn't expect the uterus to have to do so much work....I'm so glad I saw this though...because I was ready to lass out looking at all the blood I'm losing...And I'm having what feels like a contraction right now as we speak...and then it goes away for 3-5 minutes ..then it's back ....like I'm going into labor not delivering....SMH....I don't know..I just can't wait til this is over....I'm traumatized to even have sex anymore....SERIOUSLY...like she said ...I don't wish this on an enemy....it's not cool at all

I had one 3 days ago. IV surgical abortion,which I was completely, "Out"/Asleep do to remember ANYTHING. As soon as she put the IV in that's all I remembered and being awaken in the recovery room. However, this is day 3 and I never had cramps like this in my life!!!! I never had contractions when I had my daughter 18 years ago bc I mhad my child 2 months early and had a C Section. I was very worried with these mind boggling cramps(feels like labor pains) but doing research it seems like what I'm experiencing is NORMAL. So bad I use a heating pad,prayers and humming. Hopefully Adil will help cause Tylenol isn't working.

I recently had an abortion. March 9th to be exact, 11 days from today. I had the surgical procedure done. I was 11 weeks and one day. Im sharing my story not to receive attention so please hold you comment to yourself but I need to get it off my chest . My boyfriend and me both agreed that this would be the best thing to do. I was very lucky that I didn't have to deal with this alone. The actual abortion was nothing I didn't feel a thing maybe because I was all drugged up. All I remember was the wait in the beginning seeing all the girls who were in the process was kinda hard. The wait was the worst part we all agreed. To me it was kinda helpful to see other brave women in there with me. I was not alone. After I came back to normal in the recovery room after the abortion, I was sent home. I was not given any pain medication or nothing. I rested the first night as advised and took it easy from than out. I didn't start to bleed Intel like 4 days after the procedure and all because I fell on my butt. Right after the fall I began to bleed heavy. I experienced a lot of cramping, which was stated would be normal. The bleeding stopped like 2days ago. Now I'm just spotting. I believe my body is healing well it's just my emotional that I'm worried about. I just always feel sad because obviously I'm not myself right now. I've gained a lot of weight and I'm just unhappy. I love to workout but I hate that I can't even do that. I feel bad talking to my boyfriend about it because I feel he is trying to move on past this. It's just so much harder for me because I have to deal with the recovery stage. I'm trying to stay strong and as of story's I heard I hope if you have an abortion all goes well for you. Take care of yourself and you'll body will let you know when your doing to much. Just make sure you listen to it.

Thank u because i was starting to get very worried. I had my very 1st abortion March 15, 2016 and I knew in my heart this was going to be something way different. I'm 31 and 3 boys later. The pain the bleeding and just the mental inpack was so much more then what i could have even been prepared for. Your whole little post really really help and set me with some easy. I agree with u I had my abortion done sataurday 4/16 and today is 4/19 I'm 8n pain my vaginas hurts my back and my lower stomach and my mid section has sharp pains I hope I'm fine I had an abortion before and I was 6 months and it was not nearly as painful as this I was fine after 2 days last me I also don't recall them giving me the pill to open my cervics I hope they did not just do the procedure with out it
