Bumping this message board because I took it originally as comforting, but want to warn others that if you really are feeling severe pain and ibuprofen/paracetamol aren't touching it- do not ignore the pain.
It's hard to know what is normal. I had a surgical abortion and four days after had pains that felt like I was being ripped in two. I thought it probably was normal and was reassured that my pain was probably slightly worse because I'd had an iud fitted at the same time.
Don't be brave-- I was admitted to the emergency gynaecology unit in hospital where they told me I had an infection and my iud had become dislodged. The pain wasn't normal.
This isn't meant to frighten anyone, but I feel stupid for ignoring such considerable pain.
I've obviously been very unlucky, but ladies, if the pain is getting worse instead of better and not being touched by pain killers, go and get it checked out. Not worth risking.

I had one 3 days ago. IV surgical abortion, which I was completely, "Out"/Asleep do to remember ANYTHING. As soon as she put the IV in that's all I remembered and being awaken in the recovery room. However, this is day 3 and I never had cramps like this in my life!!!! I never had contractions when I had my daughter 18 years ago bc I mhad my child 2 months early and had a C Section. I was very worried with these mind boggling cramps(feels like labor pains) but doing research it seems like what I'm experiencing is NORMAL. So bad I use a heating pad, prayers and humming. Hopefully Adil will help cause Tylenol isn't working.
