Painful cramps/contractions a week after abortion

I'm facing the same problem. It's been 6 days I have had medical abortion pills. All common side effects as mentioned,I suffered from them but since 2 days I have been vomiting and getting weird cramps in my stomach. Which says to be normal.

I am about to get an abortion tomorrow morning and I gave never been so scared in my life... Did the prescription for the pain help at all??

What are you talking about? I had a miscarriage and had to take pills to eliminate it from my body. My post is based on my experience. Everyone has a choice if they want to have a baby or not. Your not God so stop trying to judge others.

I am day four post medical abortion. Found out I was 6 weeks and 6 days pregnant three days before doing the medical abortion at the ER. Wanted them to run a full panel on my urine sample to check for infections, but apparently no UTI. Went to ER because I couldn't stomach water from the morning sickness - it was that bad. Pita chips were the only things I could tolerate but threw those up too.

I started my abortion pills and after 35 minutes the cramping started. Boy, some of the worst cramps of my life. I also vommited 45 minutes after taking the cheek pills. It's a good thing they tell you to keep it in your cheeks for 30 minutes - that's all the time your body needs to absorb the medication.

Felt fine the next day. Bleeding has progressively been getting better. I'm day 4 now. Still depend on the pain pills, otherwise the diarrhea will be endless all day with cramping. The ER doctor warned me that 50% of the women who get the abortion pill will go to the ER because of persistent pain. But that's apparently the part of the process and it's normal. We should expect pain for up to a week. Seriously don't lift anything heavy. This really put me out and prepare to drink LOTS OF FLUIDS!!!! This will also help with diarrhea. Water, pedialite, get those electrolytes in your body. Take lots of vitamin C, D3, turmeric and probiotics. Start on these supplements BEFORE if you can. Get hella sleep.

I would advice going to ER if pain pills aren't helping, you're vomiting, diarrhea, uncontrollable chills, AND rapid than average heart rate (tarchycardia) OR passing dark or foul smelly blood. Don't even call the nurse hotline. Just go and ask them to do a swab of your uterus to check for signs of infection and an indovaginal ultrasound to check for complete abortion. Opt for suction abortion if the pills didn't work.

By reading your experience it gave me re assurance what i'm going through right now its normal.I have been having contractions for the past 3 days and yesterday I started bleeding heavily while passing out clots.My doctor said its normal even though I was panicking.

I had a abortion this past Friday at my local Plan parent hood the procedure itself was horrifically painful to say the least but after needles for numbing and the terrible feeling of being awake during process I calmed down and felt better and relieved all weekend I was ok light bleeding light cramping until Monday dooms Day !!!!! I experienced horrible cramps felt like I was in labor around noon my stomach blew up my uterus was contracting and my cervix were completely open I was in the most pain I have experienced in my life I rushed to ER only to have blood work done ultra sound etc I had blood. Lots and possible tissue inside but the hospital could careless to treat me they demanded I go back plan parenthood instead of giving me a D&C like I would think bc of blood loss and the pain and conditions I swear the doctor came in hospital room without a care in world gave me a prescription for 4 5 mill Percocet and sent me pushing I thought I was going to die !!!!! If I wasn't alone and had drove myself I might have just died and fell over in floor I had 2 kids at home 14 year old and 7 year old that were going to see me in this horrid pain they have never experienced so I went home took 3 of the Percocet he prescribed and got nauseous threw up and endured a night of pain cramping and passed 2 large bloodclots It's Tuesday morning Now I'm praying the worse has passed bc cramping is minimal and my uterus has stopped cramping ! Hot showers and a heating pad literally saved my life last night I need to go have a ultrasound but I'm really scared to go back PPH bc I have heard stories about girls having to get re done bc tissue was left inside I would rather die and I'm not kidding you !!!!! The abortion itself was pure torture ! Please ladies if you are thinking about surgical abortion and it's right choice for you find a private doctor and be prepared for possible severe pain to come. Be safe and take care of yourself !!

I took my first pill wed evening 24 hours later another 4 started bleeding straight away passed everything within an hour was 9 weeks felt fine very little bleeding but today sun having realy bad cramps is this normal I'm worried

It's different for everyone. I experienced my cramping with an hour of taking the pill. It lasted days. I ended up going to the ER for pain meds and a shot. The residual side affects lasted about two weeks after for me. I finally returned back to work 3 weeks after everything. Please monitor your pain and if an emergency exist don't hesitate go to the ER if your not sure.

hugs to you! I wish I am your friend and you can talk to me about anything! i don't know how old this post but I'm actually going through the same thing in some sort. I am also in panic mode but mine is way more complicated. I live in the country where abortion is illegal. But somehow I found a way. I wish you get the much needed support and help you deserve!

Me too... This is the worst experience of my life

I chose a non surgical abortion ( the pills). I was able to be home with my boyfriend to do the procedure. I was nervous, I was scared, and I was unsure of my descion now that it was right in front of me. I chose this not only for me, but for my boyfriend as well neither of us are ready for a child. I did not bleed 2-3 hours after the inserting the pills vaginally like I expected. I took the pills about 1130 and laid down and didnt move like the doctor instructed. I fell asleep, and checked my maxi pad while i was still laying down. I got nervous, my boyfriend was in the shower ( About 730 am) I stood up, and FELT EVERYTHING. It was very scary, my boyfriend immediatley got out of the shower, grabbed ibuporfen 800 and was able to calm me down with a xanax. I fell asleep 10 min later, but the cramping was incredible. I was able to sleep for a few hours, and woke up around 10 am. I had bled alot and went to the bathroom, i then felt 3 large blood clots ( gross i know) while passing the blood clots i had extreme cramping and felt the urge to push. I was able to call the clinic where i got the medication and they said this is normal, i am feeling the equilvialnt to child birth...GREAT i was avoiding this process. I was about 7 weeks. I felt okay, very tierd from the cramping and the pain associated with that. a few days later, i felt extreme cramping, so bad i was shaking and not even the ibuprofen 800 was working. i would just sleep through the pain, i had no choice. I am now a week after my abortion and i feel pressure in my groin area not like a cramp but a pressure like pain almost like gas, but not in the correct area. I have not had any diarreah until now. I was able to google and my uterus is now returning to original size. I am now in bed less bleeding only more blood when i go to the bathroom not so much on my pad. I go tomrorow for my follow up. Hopefully all went well.
Also, make this descion for you and your partner not for you and you only. I made the choice and yes as much as i want children right now is not the time.

I had an abortion, in clinic. About 3 data ago when I had it I had little to no bleeding, I was at Work today and had sharp pains everything 10 mins OR so I found myself going to the restroom at Least 7 times in a 30 min period. I found myself wanting to push, almost like an urge to poop.. it Was shatp intence pains... finally about 3 mins after the last restroom break I Felt a watt sensation on my panties.... I didnt think much I thought maybe discharge... With in 2 min......... I Felton my panties soaked... I tan to the restroom and seen blood.. all over my panties and thighs. I was so scarred I called 911 and was rushed to er... thankfully it wansnt hemmorage.. the documento said it Was my body letting go of the lining inside from Being preg. He did say to fallow up for a ultra sound Just to make sure all is out of me... I got my abortion at planparenthood..... they DID NOT EXSPLAIN to me That this could happen afterwards... never once said hay You might feel shatp contraction pains... I Will never have this done to me agian....
