Painful underskin cyst on my butt

I have had the surgery 7 years ago, and now it has returned. I am hoping that this will be the last time i go thru this surgery, the first time was very painful, I could not sleep very good and was not wanting to eat anything. Going to use the toilet was a pain, blood everywhere. i have a week and a half until my surgery and hoping that i can return to work in two weeks. For now I have been discharging smelly fluid for 3 weeks and taking showers three times a day. The smell is hard to wash out of my clothes. This time the Doctor said he maybe able to close the wound rather than having it paccked daily.

i had this occur 3x's very painful...i used this black tar smelling like cream that brings out the pus.like it helps it pop,thenall you really do is squeeze that stuff out..i wishn there was way to prevent this from coming back again.:(

I have one and just talked to a doctor, because of the fact that mine continue to reoccur, he is saying that it is a glandular issue and he would like to remove the problematic gland. I had thoughgt that they were abcsesses, and it goes to show that only a doctor can tell you whats needed. definently make an appt. to find out whats going on and in the meantime antinflammatories are always helpful with swelling pain and fever.(ibeprofen,naproxen,acetemiphen)

Did the doctor happen to mention what the gland was that was acting up? I would like to hear if you have an answer about it because I'm very curious. Thank you!

I've been dealing with the same problem for about 3 years. I have the curse of being hairy and having folliculitis. I've been seeing a surgeon for the past year and had surgery to remove the cyst in Dec 09. The cyst has came back a couple of days ago and went to see him yesterday. He gave me Augmentin for the next week and have an appointment with him next week. My cyst continues to move from the edge of my butt to my genitals. I asked him about using heat for the swelling and he said the heat will cause the bacteria to grow and will try to draw it to the surface. My cyst have been deep under the skin. I have to push all the bloody liquid out to ease the pain. In the past i've had the cyst lanced and would pack it twice a day with gauze; this has worked well in healing the cyst, but once the cyst has healed to the dead skin it stops healing. Has anyone had this problem? If so has anyone consulted with a plastic surgeon? Has anyone had any success with herbal remedies or creams to help clean the area?

I have prayed and left my sitting down job as a graphic designer to help me with this problem. ( I had a reoccurence that was worse than when I first lanced it by ER staff.) I am moving around more, and in my own business, and changing my direction of life the way I think God is calling me to do.

So I had the same thing and I believe it is a pilondial cyst. This type if cyst hurts so much I had to have it removed. I was in so much pain I couldn't sleep, sit, stand i was in so much pain for a while I went to the doctor and I was told that if I didn't get it removed it it would come back and I would have to deal with it my whole life. These cyst can go away for months or years at a time but it will come back. I got 30 days off from work for it to heal and it still is not healed up fully.

Did you get it lanced open , I learned the hard way I waited until I couldn't even lay on my stomach , I ended up going to the doctor and getting it numbed and cut opened , but mine was under the skin and very deep it left a cavity and I had two infection , they cleaned it with saline and packed it to soak up the infection , to get rid of it right then he put me on two rounds of antibiotics it never came back after that

Staph infection. I was just diagnosed, I also had the same problem :(. I was given Thymex 4-3 x's daily. And put Manuka Honey on it before bed.

hi , i have a cyste or absess on my left butt cheek.  been there 6 moon now.  it buggs me so i have decided to slice the b****r off . any advice i can use thanks.   dont bother trying to talk me outa it tho !  my mind is made up.

I am just about to start another round of anti-biotics! Had a cyst in February removed after it popped on its own, then it was infected in July and again! Above the bum, below the tailbone and boy it is NOT fun and no time rest! I hope this is the end! I sympathize with anyone that gets these!

I am also mrsa positive I've had to have 3 cyst/abscesses removed in the past month, they are a huge pain in the butt ( literally ) the doctor told me to do weekly checks of my entire body

It's not terrible. I have one now, and as long as you can find a position that doesn't make you want to scream bloody murder, your golden. :)

hiya, this is probably I pilonidal abscess. I've just had treatment to get rid of mine. It started as a small bump at the top of my bum, but felt like I had fallen on my tailbone, it got so bad that I couldn't sit down or lie down, or even walk properly, then I noticed the bump had gotten bigger. So I went to the hospital and they tried to squeeze it to get the puss out but It wasn't working, so they said to come back the next day for an operation to get rid of it. I went for the op, and am now going through the most horrible recovery..

I am recovering from the second go around with a pillinidal cyst . It is a well worth operation albeit painful the out come was great. However now I have a cyst that has come up on the lower right butt cheek no amount of hot packs are helping and no head has appeared on 5 days . Here we go again another surgical procedure

I am sitting in Patient first as we speak, I've had 4 of these in the past 8 years. As you all know 1 freaking one is enough for your entire lifetime! I had a polynidal cyst on my tailbone, right bicep, stomach!, and now my cheeks (buttock). I hope a male DR sees me! I showered before I got here.. It's now been draining for 1 entire day, and they usually get better once they start draining BUT I guess I have a lot more. It's not your job!! I've had these when I was working in a warehouse and now sitting in an office. I have a low fever, I will keep u posted.. FYI the only reason I'm here is because I saw a post earlier that said this cyst ate half a dudes butt.
