He only performed a focused surgery (w/o a bi-lateral exploration) in a particular instance, and therefore missed the second adenoma, as a FYI only

Correction on this post! He only went in onside and after 6 months my pth went up again. I had a second adenoma that Dr. Thompson missed. I went to Tampa Florida to have the second one removed. They were so much more professional and knew what the heck they were doing. The two surgeries were night and day. NOT even comparable! If you go with the wrong surgeon you can end up jack-up like me forever. I now have Hashimotos and sjogrens since my first surgery with Dr. Thompson.

I TOTALY understand what you are saying about TAMPA! They never asked me for any money up front, nor would I give it to them until I arrived at their facility due to the fact that I am not stupid! I will have hotel, air fare & car rental to pay also; this does not bother me to pay the fee, but I cant see doing that until we have some sort of binding contract

Anyone looking for a highly experienced parathyroid surgeon should consult the AAES (American Association of Endocrine Surgeons) surgeon finder list located on their webpage. There are many listed, a number of which are from top facilities within the U.S., in addition to being associated with teaching university hospitals. Their list also provides names & contact information to general endocrine surgeons in other parts of the world, and is not strictly limited to the U.S.

Of course your PTH went down in surgery. The other 3 glands are dormant due to the 1 that is overactive. That is why You take calcium supplements after Surgery until the glands left, turn back on.
