My grandson is an infant, his parents have been getting high for the past 2 months. I was told they only do it when the baby is at my house. But since this started, I have him stay with me at least 5 days a week without a word from them. The clothes I send him home in he still wearing the next time I pick him up. He leaves my home happy and healthy, every time I pick him up, he has cuts on his face which I'm told is from his finger nails, but a cut them and his toes regularly, he smells sweaty, so he only gets bathed here. He has bug bite lumps, a goose egg on his head, which I'm told is from his playpen is against a corner. Dirt under his finger & toe nails, and diaper rash if you can call it that his poor little hinny is beat red and has places around his rectom where its raw like a layer of skin has come off, I know its painful for the little guy, when I clean him his 1st day here it usually bleeds just specks here and there on his hinny, but there is no need for this, it just pure neglect, not changing him after a poop. He freaks out if he is left alone. I always ask when did he eat last and what did he have , they're never sure and its always a bottle and he is suppose to be changing from 1st stages to 2nd stages of food.
They lived here with us until 3months ago, I through my daughters boy friend out he is rude, ignorant, and spiteful. So he took my daughter and grandson with him to his mother's house, who also smokes weed, and has an autistic son.
I know they smoke daily, because the girl they smoke with has a big mouth and is always telling other peoples business. So they get high and leave him in the playpen, that is abuse and neglect. I don't remember who or when I heard this but I was told weed kills brain cells and if your an avid smoker your mental development and maturity stops at the age the constant use began.
I did my share of experimenting when I was young, but once I got married and had children that was it. My daughter is 25yrs old and hasn't smoked weed since high school.
I don't know what to do to help the baby I keep his as much as they allow me to. I'm afraid if I say something to her about it that her boyfriend will keep the baby from me and my husband. Any advice?

The whole legalizing thing about marijuana has made it such an epidemic. Our society is justifying a reality that only condones people to do wrong and become empathetic to their actions. It's a drug within a drug that makes one's addiction to it increase. What balanced and healthy parent would want their children exposed to any kind of artifical substance that can affect a normal growing child who later on didn't even ask to be exposed. Marijuana is not like it was years ago. Not really knowing what your getting from a supplier can put the smoker and child in harms way, healthwise eventually. The goverment has legalized it in some states. Yet will classify it in a case in court if children are involved in a negative recourse. It's a money making game with them and parents are falling into the "parent trap" stop justifying the addiction. However society has definitely been in denial way to long. We wonder why its spinning out of control and the youth generation are so out of touch. A child is like a recorder what you put in them will come out.

This is a sensitive issue especially with you keeping the baby from time to time. Reach out to some support groups and seek advise. Possible legal to see what you can do. However if the law gets involved the child could be in harms way by being taken out of the home. This is unfortunate for the child. Yet the parents need to wake up or reality will wake them up. The mother is following her boyfriend to the degree of child neglect and endangerment. I hope you get help and your sibling also. Best of luck

Cannabis is not physically addicting in any way. All cigarettes are physically addicting and cause cancer and kill hundreds of thousands of people a year. Cannabis has never caused any cancer, and has killed zero people in the history of the world. In fact cannabis has cured cancer and destroyed several brain tumors and infants and children alike. cannabis cures cancer and destroyed several brain tumors in infants and children alike. Why don't you do your research before saying something stupid like secondhand cannabis smoke is worse than secondhand cigarette smoke. The only reason secondhand cigarette smoke is worse than first hand cigarette smoke is because cigarettes have filters in them. It's been scientifically proven millions of times that cigarettes have exponentially more carcinogens and poisonous chemicals in them than marijuana that's why you need a filter and it still kills you

Cannabis is just as natural as any other plant.

The reason smoking weed is illegal in the great USA
, the Gov can't make a profit off of it. Its as simple as that. Think about how easy it is to grow a plant? Also how 1 person can profit off of it without giving any of the $$ to Gov..

I like playing with my kids and cooking for them and spending time with them the most after a good joint. Makes me more calm and patient so I can address their issues without getting frustrated.
