Very true..I was a teenage Pot Smoker that played Sandlot Sports like 45 years ago..had a surfactant vomiting episode about a month after smoking Larado roll your own cigarettes every day.....couldn't breath..lost my wind..hadn't virtually any endurance during a football game...(played every night for a few hours)..vomited this foam out which tasted like cigarette filters of a smoked cigarette..God was giving me a warning ..which of course I didn't heed..spent a few years in Service where drug use was rampant..came out after smoking cigarettes for 6 months (Kools).. Was Parting all Summer...Went to College and took a swimming-life saving class..collapsed my Lung swimming in class...the air sacs got a bleb on the one lobe and air rushed out of Lung into the Plural Cavity...One of 2 lobes (Left Side) was laying on my heart making a metallic tapping sound...couldn't breathe at all..couldn't walk across the street......spent 2 weeks in Hospital recovering..They put Tube down my chest near armpit and i believe I was hooked up to a negative pressure pump to help maintain pressure and reinflate the lung..I was fortunate yet still stupid and only quit for a year..where i continued my life of decadence..until one night the spirit came to me and said words I now live by..."Drugs aren't where its at"..Words I finally live by..I don't smoke..inhale anything..and live a fairly careful life.and everyone that reads this can too..Drugs aren't where its at..take heed and get Grace by Association with me..the Spirit literally had been in my life and I never new this!! So now you can too..Live your life by the SpIrit and not this Carnal World we live in..Man will sell anything to another man to make a buck on them..regardless of Health Issues..(CIGARETTES , ALCOHOL)..Don't believe or trust them ..take it from someone who went through this..and learn by my mistakes so you don't have to go through what I did!! I'm not sure where you got your information, but cannabis can cure cancer and they found the smoke actually improves your lung health and capacity. John Hopkins also did a study that proved people around 2nd hand smoke in normal ventilated conditions have ZERO effects from the smoke.

Cigarettes are WAY worse than cannabis. They cause cancer first hand and through second hand smoke. They kill your body and anyone else's body breathing it in.

Again MARIJUANA DOES NOT CAUSE CANCE IT CURES IT!

It is also impossible to become physically addicted to it. You're body will not go through withdrawals.

I am a proud single father to my 1 1/2 yr old son, my ex and I share 50/50 custody.
A couple of months ago, my boy came back to me stoned out of his mind. I took him to the doctor, and a CPS report was opened. Less than 10 days later, they closed the case stating that they could not figure out where the exposure happened. He went back to his mothers, and I continued to monitor the presence of THC in his system with at home drug tests. A week before Christmas, he finally passed his first test in over a month. After 11 days with his mother, I got him back and automatically put a test in his diaper. It came back positive again, and the next day we were on our way to the pediatrician. Yet again, CPS had an open case in front of them. This time around I was 100% clean from THC myself, and thought I had a reasonable leg to stand on in obtaining full custody. Once again, a new case was opened. Lasted about 10 days, and they had me give my son back to his mother again claiming they could not figure out where the exposure had occurred. This was 2 weeks ago now, and the very first time he went back to her after another 10 day stretch, her new husband was smoking a blunt in the car outside of the pediatrician's office as she put him in his car seat.
He was just with her for two days. When I went to meet up with her at a police department to do the exchange of our son, the desk officer had to escort her out of the facility for causing a scene. The officer on duty clearly smell marijuana on my son's clothes, and filed a police report. This being the third time it has been brought to the States attention, I have to wonder what will come of it this time. I'm unconvinced as of right now that the state of Colorado is willing to consider a child being exposed to THC is endangerment. As sad as that is.
With marijuana legal in Colorado, the state seems to stand behind parents who decided to smoke in front of their children. I have noticed over the last 6 months my child's vocabulary diminishing from over 25 words down to 5 or 6 at best. And he will typically throw Tantrums while banging his head on the floor most of the time when he is "coming down from his high".
I am definitely an advocate for medical marijuana seeing all the good that it does for people. But when it comes to the kids, there is absolutely no reason to consume, or for you too subject your kids to being around second-hand smoke. I have not noticed any kind of emphysema, or bronchitis. There are definitely detrimental mental side effects for children whose parents smoke around them though. Especially if it is in their system effecting their development.
Take it from me, there is not a single thing in the world more important than your child growing up with a stable mindset and good learning abilities. The first time I saw him with bloodshot eyes and the munchies changed my opinion entirely on consuming cannabis around children. Just don't do it, it is not worth watching your child regress in dramatic ways!

Frankly wether it's good or not causes cancer or cures. Weed is still the best alternative. I would rather be "addicted" to something that grows directly from the ground which I myself grew than something made in a lab thats not natural and at the end of the day will "always" bring secondary effects. In most cases they even advice you of the possibility of contracting other diseases. Which makes no sense because your taking the damn thing to cure you not make you worse.

Its funny how most individuals are so quick to label marijuana as a drug. Define the word drug. You say smoking cannabis is horrible and demoralizing. But yet I bet you my entire salary that you have had a drank or two. Nicotine kills more and more humans every year and what's behind that? Alcohol. You want to ban something and get rid of Substances, get rid of the pills and the cigarettes and the alcohol. Show me one post one article in the history of the United States or hell even in a foreign county where marijuana has killed or was the cause of a death. But I can show you many articles of overdoses, ppl being killed by drunk drivers, or people dying from cancer caused by nicotine. Show me those facts.. Go ahead I'll wait...

Umm you must be around so really stupid people. I am an active cannabis consumer and am functioning everyday working and taking care of my children. My children probably have a higher IQ than you or the people you associate with. Get your facts straight. A bad parent is a bad parent.It has nothing to do with if they smoke pot. I work 49 hours a week, coach my sons football games, attend online schooling, and I still smoke weed and am very productive. Say what you said about weed, but instead incorporate pills and alcohol. Then maybe just maybe you won't sound like a complete fool.

I hate to say this to you sir. But you are completely wrong about cannabis. If your child's vocabulary dropped its because you stopped working with him. To honestly say it was because of it is a propaganda. You should really do your research. There is absolutely no way THC can enter a child's system by second hand smoke. Even recent studies show that it is impossible. You said you tested your child and he kept showing positive, that's a lie. If and I mean this is like a HUGE IF, your child did have THC in their system it wouldn't show on a home based test or even a lab test. The count wouldn't even be close to 50m which is the limit in which it shows up on a drug test. Cps would not open a case on marijuana but would definetly open a case if there was a sign of abuse or neglect. So again try another lie to jump on the marijuana propaganda band wagon.

I personally can tell u ur full of sh*t and my proof being that my fiancé is stone cold addicted to pot and all the same traits as someone addicted to cocaine. I know because I used to be a cocaine addict and I am clean now but since legalization of pot she has gotten even worse here in Maine. She is constantly upstairs in her smoke room hiding out smoking and Ive even threatened to leave her if she didn't quit or try to get help and she says she has no problem and she's not quitting. Its an absolute daily night mare and I u saw it first hand u would know. Believe me I never thought it possible either for someone to be that hooked on it but I can promise u it is a very really sinario that has single handedly destroyed our relationship and we also have a child together. It is very possible and some people have the addictive personality. She doesn't eat anything all day until she can barley stand it but smokes all day then when she's starving to death at end of day she eats unhealthy I meant no disrespect to you for calling u full of sh*t but I would hope maybe u can recognize that there are rare cases and in living a nightmare right now and the only reason I'm still in it is for my child

It is one year later, and I am a caseworker in the mental health field. The problem is the same, drugged out parent's produce messed up kids. The sick cycle continues.
