Hi fellow PCO ladies. I need to share my experience hope it's helpful and hope someone can help me as well. I have PCO and it's been over 2 months I have all pregnancy symptoms (period cramps, diziness, missed period on 40days cycle, nausea, vomitting, brown spotting, bloating, gas, even growing belly sort of lump inside, accelerated heartbeat, tiredness, food craving..) I am so tired after 15 negative tests, negative blodd test, ultrascan technically techincal difficult due to bloating and can't even see my left ovaries, ...so it's possible it can't detect a baby growing, plus I have a retroverted uterus, but did not show anything else abnormal.

Doctors can't find out why I am in pain or having symptoms. Medications didnt help the symptoms and belly keeps growing, my hips and body posture even change, I have a faint dark line on my belly...but they can't say I am pregnant, becasue tests don't show! I am so tired. They recommed to do a laparoscopy: to open my belly and put a camera to find out what causing all this ..I am so scared it may be hurting a baby if there is one...It's just debilating, has anyone felt like this or can suggest anything? I hope it helps other women be aware of what PCO can cause. TKS.

I really do feel for u as iv been through similar circumstances, I knew I was pregnant just my hcg levels were so low it didn't show on tests except a physical exam but it was too late by then. The earliest hpt positive I've heard of was at 5 weeks with Pcos but she was having twins. My endo guy has told me not to use hpt's at all and as soon as I'm late to go straight for bloods and scan... people tend to suffer know-it-all-syndrome talking about stuff they haven't a clue about, each and every body is different. Please don't self diagnose or let ur mind run thinking u will never have a baby, u will one way or another u will be the mam u deserve to be. Best of luck to u x

Thank you very much. It shouldn't have to be this way. If indeed I am pregnant as I suspect so it means that this whole healthcare system is failing a baby because it doesn't cater for women with PCO. I read a medical study about the prevalence of false negative 6 out of 9 pregnancy test being inaccurate after the early stages of pregnancy, Therefore if women with PCO can't have a positive test in early days they have even less chances of getting a positive test later. It's incredible there isn't more support or help on this.

As for me: I have darkening areas on my face now, which is a clear sign that there is some hormonal change in my system. My belly keep growing, I can't fit in my pants, can't even lean or sit straight, nausea, palpitations still. Nevertheless I am taking care of myself as a pregnant bird.

I have been finally been booked with a gynaecologist and will demand a thorough examination. This is crazy!

I have PCOS, I was diagnosed 18 years ago. I lost all hope having a baby. I took a pregnancy one saturday night before going out because i was late and didnt want to drink if by some chance I was pregnant. The result was negative. By monday I was so sick and smells made it worse... my mom MADE me take another just incase.. and it was POSITIVE! When i went to the doctor I found out I was already 2 months along! So yes, i believe it DOES have an effect on pregnancy tests somehow :)

update from LADYINPAIN - 5 months on still all the symptoms, even getting flutters and movement in my belly from side to side. Belly is growing weekly, uncontrollable weight gain, mild nausea, palpitations. No periods for 5 months now, even with my PCO this is CRAZY! Today's appointment with doctor they say: You have gas. REALLY? gas?? gas is getting me to have all these pregnancy symptoms Really doctors? Gas? The limitations of modern medicines are abyssal...and pregnancy test is still NEGATIVE.

This is an old thread I know, but I was diagnosed with PCOS at 13 years of age. Now fast forward to 32 years of age. I have 3 healthy boys all conceived naturally but in a particularly un traditional way. With each of them I would go months without a menstrual cycle then finally be worried about such an extended time between cycles and end up going to the GYN and low and behold I would be anywhere between 4 and 9 weeks pregnant and had no clue. I have a sensitive tummy so a little nausea wasn't a big deal. There's hope!

Hi. I am 31 years old and have been trying for a baby for 8 months now. I have always had irregular period and my GP started me on Metformin. I've been taking this for at leats 6 months and every month I have my period which has different cycle length each month. I bought lots of ovulation kits which have not helped and 2 months ago I was 10 days late for my period but then had my period. Again I am 10 days late and for the last 1 week I have had stomach pains which feels like period pain, muscle pain, extreme fatigue, moddswings etc. I have done at least 4 pregnancy tests (they measure HcG from 20) and they all come negative. I know I am not pregnant but I want to be and as each day passes I think the tests are wrong, even though 4 tests shouldn't be wrong. I feel really down as I want to be pregnany with a healthy baby. Not sure what to do :( please let me know if anybody had similar issues.

Today I went to the male GP and he said if my pregnancy tests are negative then I AM NOT PREGNANT! I was really annoyed because so many people said that PCOS anf Metformi n may provide false negative results. I was adamant that I wanted a blood test and he reluctantly agreed although he kept reassuring me that I am not pregnant. 5 minutes of dismissive GP time is what I pay taxes for!! Sorry about the rant, but I've been trying for ages to conceive and nothing works.

My mother went through the same thing and was about to get wheeled into surgery when she had a gut feeling to not go through with a laparoscopy. The nurse listened to her and on the sly told her to go home to be sure. She eventually found out she was pregnant when the doctor gave her a scan to check her ovaries again and to check for other issues. The laparoscopy will hurt the baby. Go with your guts. Reschedule it until you know for certain. Take matters into your own hands for a while. I've grown up alongside doctors and they are wrong on so many occasions. I have been taught that by a registered nurse who has seen so many unusual and individual cases. Goodluck xx
