All You Need To Know About Pubic Pimples

What Are Pubic Pimples

Pubic pimples appear the pubic, breeding in the moist warm areas. They are often red and irritated. They can be hot to the touch, itching and burning. It is common for yellow or white pus to be discharged from the pimples. If the pus has a foul odor, your pubic pimples are infected. Any sign of infection should be seen by a doctor.

What Causes Pubic Pimples

Pubic pimples can appear on anyone, regardless of your personal hygiene habits. They most often happen during periods of change in the body including puberty, pregnancy, and menopause. Some people develop pubic pimples from wearing underwear that is too tight, causing friction in the pubic area. They can be the result of excessive sweating during extremely hot weather or sports. Allergic reactions to soaps and lotions are common. Using a dull razor to shave can also result in pubic pimples. Never use a razor more than once, as bacteria and body oils can be on it. Upon using it again, you will spread that bacteria and oil to other areas of the body.

How To Tell If Pubic Pimples Are Caused By STDs Or Shaving

Occasionally, pubic pimps are a sign of a sexually transmitted disease. Generally, most pubic pimples will disappear with in three or four days. However, those that are the result of an STD will not go away without medical treatment. Pubic pimples could be a symptom of genital herpes, a yeast infection, and syphilis. It is possible to get a STD that causes pubic pimples from oral sex. If you develop pubic pimples after having unprotected sex, see a doctor immediately so that the proper testing can be done.

Prevention Of Pubic Pimples

Good personal hygiene can help prevent pubic pimples. Thoroughly washing the pubic area with soap, scrubbing with a loofa or washrag will help loosen dead skin and oils that can lead to pubic pimples. Make sure you wear underwear that fits well and is comfortable. If you find yourself getting pubic pimples due to sweating, apply baby powder to the pubic area prior to getting dressed. The baby powder will help absorb the moisture. Do not engage in unprotected sex, so that it won’t be possible for your pubic pimples to be the result of a sexually transmitted disease. To look at great pubic shaving products that will leave you with fabulous results, go to Here you will find access to the best products designed to meet your shaving needs. Using the proper products will reduce the risk of pubic pimples occurring.

Treatment For Pubic Pimples

Most pubic pimples will disappear within three or four days on their own. To relieve the itching and irritation, apply cortisone cream or other anti-inflammatory cream to the area several times a day. Clean the area with medical soap, then apply rubbing alcohol to the pimples. Avoid the temptation to squeeze the pus out of the pimples as this can lead to an infection. If a pubic pimple oozes, clean the area thoroughly to prevent it from coming into contact with other parts of your body. If your pubic pimples don’t clear up in a few days or are accompanied by a high fever contact your doctor. Sexually transmitted diseases including crabs may cause pubic pimples to develop.

Ok guys, for a large portion of you it is NOT something to be worried about, all this sounds like is ingrown hairs. An ingrown hair is when a hair is broken off underneath the skin. (Ex: When shaveing your pubic area, the razor breaks the hairs underneath the skin) What happens is that the hair becomes tappered and will have sort of an edge to it. Ingrown hairs can be seen by the red bumbs or "pimples" in the shaved area. This generally happens with curly hair. and let's face it the hair in the pubic are is usually veyr curley.

What it is, is that the hair grows out of line and under your skin, causeing the area it is growing into to swell up and turn red. Causing the "pimples." DO NOT REMOVE WITH HAIR REMOVAL PRODUCTS as this may cause further irritation and will burn.

Treatment is not painfull at all, take a hot cloth and put it on the ingrown area and soak for 10 minutes 3 times a day. This should cause the skin to open up a but and for the hairs to soften enough to corect themselves. If this does not work then you need you soak the infected area, take a STERILIZED pair of tweezers (Rubbing alchohol) and gently remove the hair by the root once finished gently apply some rubbing alchohol to sterilize the area.

Hopefully this has cleared up a few issues with some of the posters in this question.

Have a nice day, and hope I helped.

Ok, so I have this same problem. I see the bumps and they look like zits to me. So I just pop them likes its no big deal. The thing is, I'm a virgin so i know for sure its not an STD. I'm just worried because i have no idea what's going on.

I just asked my dermatologist about this today and she said it was something really scientific (I do not remember the name) but to treat it with hibiclens, she said its hereditary from either side of your family, and is like a pimple, red and really painful at first then it pops and lots of gunk comes out then it feels better and heals. It is not a disease, and is similar to acne, but face wash will not help, even when I was on antibiotics for another unrelated issue I had the "breakouts" so antibiotics do not help.
It's not ingrown hair because ingrown hair does not pus. The hibiclens is found online or at a local medical shop, without a prescription. This is only when there are no STDs suspected and my doctor said it may get worse with irritation and wetness/humidity and sometimes gets worse when the seasons get warmer. This is only when the pimple is similar to acne pimples: painful and red at first, then pop and leak pus and blood then heal and feel better. So hibiclens is the only real solution my doctor recommended and is not a prescription and is about $20 or so I found online.
I am not a doctor so if the breakout is not similar to this you should probably see a doctor, especially if an STD cannot be ruled out. Hope this helps and if you are able to talk to your primary care physician if you have one and just double check if you are unsure

I am experiencing this same thing. First off, I am a hypochondriac but with good reason. I caught chlamydia a year or two ago from a dirty girl and i was kinda drunk so i didn't think to wrap. shortly after i had a bad bout with chiggers which i was sure was herpes but it ended up being... well chiggers. About a week ago i shaved my pubes and yesterday i found this little bump with the lump underneath that you were talking about and i popped it like it was a zit. from what i've read, herpes dont really "pop", it seems that they kind of just form and hurt, itch, burn etc. Being the schidzy person i am, i assumed that it was something much, much worse. hopefully it is just a "pubic pimple", which sounds like it is just a zit but around your junk.

also keep in mind. even if you wear condoms you can get genital herpes very easily, so easily that 1 in 5 people have some form of it... IT IS CONTRACTIBLE THROUGH INTIMATE AND NON-INTIMATE SKIN CONTACT, KISSING, HIGH FIVES, AND SHARING DRINKS, CIGARETTES, AND FOR THOSE WHO CHOOSE A HEALTHIER ALTERNATIVE, JOINTS, PIPES AND BONGS.

Don't be so self-assured. You can contract herpes from kissing, sharing drinks, and from bath towels.

I think its from sweat or lack of showing or what-not, I have the same problem, it could also mean you have alot of pubic hair and should shave it, see if theres a difference, it can also be hard to clean with alot, so just try cleaning better or shaving.

I'm going to be 15.. I have a pimple too it happens every once in a while I think I got it 3 times in the pubic area....

Just curious, do you happen to shave in that general area? Little red, irritated spots with a white or lightly yellow goo inside (which may remind you of the consistency of popping a zit) can be something as simple as an ingrown hair or the result of one being pulled out incorrectly. I get them bad after shaving. Unless it looks like anything other than a zit, I wouldn't be too concerned.

I have the same problem. im outside nearly every day skating and i sometimes get pimples in my pubic area. Im 17 and i think it may be from the sweat and lack of oxygen to the penis. For example i showerd this morning before going to skate and my pubic area was pimple-free. when i got back from 6 hours of skating i noticed a couple of these pimples. What do i do!?

Hi i am a doctor and i would just like to let you know, these pimples are perfectly normal, it isn't any sexual infection as long as they don't appear on the genital area itself (vagina/penis), think the area around the penis or vagina as if it were your face, if not cleaned properly or sweating occurs near the genital region a lot, this will cause pimples or zits", but if more than 5-7 pimples appear, i recommend seeing a doctor about this, as it wont be a sexual infection, but may still be something that can be just a bad, these pimples are normally easily to brake, but as like normal pimples, it will spread and cause rashes, don't reuse objects like underwear, pants or towels, and only try to pop them in the shower (NOT BATHS), as the oil will travel over more of the body in baths.
i also suggest if playing sports for long periods of time, every hour or so, go to the toilet and let the pelvis region breath fresh air, and wipe area with a wet cloth (if you have none, just any type of cloth will help e.g. toilet paper).
if pimples accour after sexual intercourse, don't worry, as this is just the build up of oil from either sweet or fluids from the woman OR man if having unprotected sex
ill say again though, NO pimples should appear on the penis or vagina, as this is a very high chance of being a STD such as Genital warts or HDV (HIV is a more common name used)

I hope this helped a lot of people out there with this problem
