There is a new program on NBC about medical mysteries. They investigate and solve medical mysteries. One of us should go on that show and present our problem, and see what they come up with. Any volunteers?

Neither. I feel this condition has more than one cause, for example the prostate, REM related illness, GAMA receptors and perhaps spinal problems. But the cause is by far a combination of more than just 2. If it was only one condition that is causing SRPE, then alot more men would be suffering from SRPE, not just us unlucky few.

In your case, I have read it is called Post Finasteride Syndrome (PFS). Have you tried out medication like Paroxetine, Propranol or Clonazepam in order to get rid of this nightmare condition? For the hyperactive bladder you can use Oxybutynine. None of the doctors I have visited has a clue of this disorder. Wish you good look and don't give up!

Have you tried out PDE5-inhibitors (i.e. Tadalafil, Viagra) in the morning to get rid of this dreadful condition? you need to take them for at least 6 months. Or other medications like Paroxetine, Propranolol or Clonazepam? Some investigations about Sleep Related Painful Erections (SRPE) have suggested those drugs. I wish you good look finding the right treatment.

It is a very complex medical condition, but if you are perseverant I think you can overcome this situation. The illness is called Sleep Related Painful Erections (SRPE). I can occur at any age. Different causes. Different solutions have been proposed. From pelvic floor physiotherapy, PDE5i therapy, antidepressives like Paroxetine or Clozapine until drugs like Propranolol and many others. I hope you can find the most suitable medication in your case. Good luck.

Perhaps bad habbits like frequent masturbation before bedtime and drug addiction (cocaine) are triggers of this medical condition. This thing doesn't come up magically.

To me, the problem initiate when men get into frequent masturbation habits and porn addiction. It changes the biochemistry of the brain. Thus, body automatically learns to correlate pleasure with that. SRPE is like a "natural"/automatic drug to drop symptoms of depression. Check out if your masturbation habits were above normal just before the onset. Hope you get better Eugene.

I know hoy you feel buddy. It's a total medical mystery. But in my case I think it came up because of a frequent masturbation habit (mostly in the night, before bedtime). It was compulsive, so I guess that the biochemistry in the brain got screwed up. Hve you guys checked out whether or not your masturbation habits were above normal just before the onset of the symptoms??

The changes in the penile appearence is called "Hard Flaccid". You may also have visible swollen veins. You need to go into anti-fibrosis therapy: Pentoxifylline + Arginine + Tadalafil (at the morning)
