Just spent an hour choking myself trying to get this out. Finally had to use my finger and dislodge it. I'm never eating popcorn again.

When you scratch your uvula it feels like the piece is still there but it probably isn't. Leave it alone!

I agree none of these are really helpful but its nice that there were suggestions
I just had this problem it was so bad it was making me gag. I tried everything but nothing worked until I ate a slice of dry bread. I think its gone now so if anyone else has this trouble would give bread a try :)
Thanks for the granola bar advice. It worked like a charm!!!
I have the same thing right now. I tried to feel around with my finger and i dont feel any thing hard or somewhat like a piece of popcorn husk
I just suffered through this for a few hours. It felt as though it was stuck at the back of my throat or somehow above my uvula. However I finally said AAHHH! pushing down on my tongue and the it was on my tongue but deep back. I couldn't see it until I pushed down on my tongue. I guess its just impossible to feel where it is. try sticking your tongue out far and say AAAHHH!!
Try to brush again till inside the throat. It works !!!!
This just happened to me, and I remember that I didn't eat popcorn most of my childhood because it happened then once and freaked me out. So I relearned this lesson - NEVER again! Anyway, I took the admonitions to try to get it out immediately so it doesn't get further adhered/engrained in your throat, so for the last two hours I have done the following: seltzer water, 7 cups of herb tea with tons of honey, the last of my almond butter in the bottom of the jar, trying to reach with finger (too far down in the throat - not in back of mouth or near tonsils but down in my esophagus) coconut butter, and what I finally think worked - at least it's feeling different, so I'm assuming it's gone and the residual sensation is just from the irritation - anyway, what I did last was wolf down two Moonpies one right after the other in huge bites. I LOVE Moonpies, but thought I was going to throw up I ate them so fast and it was so MUCH sugar at one time. Anyway, I think the marshmallow in the center and the graham cracker crust was the right combination because it definitely feels different. It's late and I'm drinking one more cup of tea (will be up all night peeing) and if it is still there in the morning then I'm going to get granola bars and ice cream as someone else suggested.
Thanks for the laughs!!!
I am at a sleepover and I woke up from eating popcorn last night with a kernel stuck in the back of my throat. It is very early in the morning and I keep gagging! All of my friends are sleeping what do I do???
Granola bar did the trick thanks you my wife is relieve yaaa
day 3 of having this peice of popcorn stuck in my throat... this is the millionth forum ive read and i have accepted my forever irritated fate. ive lost all hope, this popcorn kernel has become one with me now
As I was reading this, while having a popcorn husk stuck for maybe 7 hours, which has caused me to generate a lot of mucous, I decided to head up some almond milk and eat a couple of tablespoon of dried goji berries. I think the berries did the trick, perhaps like granola bars. I was reading this out of curiosity, but have generally felt that over time they will dislodge. I tend to just accept that it takes time. Thanks for the tips!
