Just tried thre peanut butter, Hope it works, Been in agony for three days.
Ice cream works like a charm.
This has happened to me several times before. Unfortunately, I have no remedy other than sticking your finger in the back of your throat and attempt to push it out until it finally dislodges. It's worked every time but it does take a few attempts.
A good way to diag that is... IF IT HAPPENED WHILE EATING POPCORN!!!! Thanks..
I always get it stuck behind my tonsils. I found honey helps because the hull sticks to it as it goes down. Crackers work too, by scratching it out.
Just had a hull in the back of my throat for several hours. Walking around yelling at myself to calm down all the while paranoia growing and that awful sensation you might choke. Read all the suggestions tried gargling with salt water no joy. Brought up a Luke warm bottle of diet decaf Pepsi and filled a glass. Stood over the kitchen sink with water running and gulped down a swallow. Nope. Then I realized I needed to gargle long deep and hard and keep from gagging. The effervessance just bubbled that kernel loose to my tongue and within a moment I had the culprit in my hand on my finger. Biggest damn husk I have ever see a solid 1/3 inch in diameter. The soda should be warm and freshly opened as you want that bubbling action to lift the kernel as its like a suction cup. You may need to try this several times but it worked for me. Moral no more popcorn ever and my wife doesn't think I'm nuts as I was talking to myself anguished and really not wanting to go to the ER but this raised my BP dramatically... Good luck and may he on high grant you relief....
Hey guys, I know how to fix this.  So basically all you do if you get a cup of water or juice or any drinkable liquid, then you put it in your mouth but don't swallow it but put it all the way in the back of your mouth but don't swallow. Just nearly put it at the end right when your about to swallow then kinda move it around. I tried it and the husk was gone.  Hope this helped, Have a great day.
Omg....I gargles with Diet Coke ...it loosened it and it got where I could get it with a qtip.. Has some gagging but,,,did get it off. Bless you who suggested gargling with Pepsi
THANK YOU!!!! It worked immediately and the relief - well, you know - it's amazing to have that sharp, annoying thing out of my throat!
That is highly unlikely since we all got it immediately after eating popcorn.
So, I got mine out within a couple of hours, but those were LONG HOURS. First of all, remember that it WILL COME OUT. It is a questions of when, not if. The Serenity Prayer helped me stay calm (seriously), which is really important. I tried several of the combinations, but the most effective was a combination of carbonated soda and a granola bar (REALLY CRUNCHY). It took two to work and it came when I gargled after eating the second one. EUREKA! Just stay calm, it will be gone.
I just gargled some water then afterwards I just ate some breads.... It works for me. But if it does'n't work for you then I really don't know..
I tried eating rice to gargle it out! Nothing worked. Mom laughing hysterically. Not helping
At first I tried scraping it out with the end of a spoon for awhile but that didn't work, then tried gargling with Pepsi and eating 6 crunchy nature valley granola bars and I thought it worked but nope. I decided to shine a light and couldn't find anything at first, but after closer inspection I saw the little bugger lodged to the front of my tonsil and had to reach in with tweezers. Took a couple of tries but I got it out.
What works for me is doing the following several times: mix a 1/4 tsp salt, 1 tsp olive oil, and 2 oz water (the oil won't really "mix" in there, of course, and that's fine). Take a swig into the back of your throat as as if gargling with mouthwash, and begin to gargle normally. Then make an "nnnngggg" sound while gargling. You will feel the liquid bubbling differently in your throat. Repeat until dislodged. Also, the peanut butter on bread or crackers tips sound like good ideas as well, but I've never had to try those, the above has worked for me.
