I've read all the posts. This is the third day of having a large husk of a popcorn stuck in my throat. My throat was dry, and I remember feeling a husk in my mouth and then, arbitrarily, I swallowed it. The moment I swallowed it I remember thinking it could get stuck. And it did. I've gargled with Pepsi, but it was regular Pepsi and it was cold. I've drunk two cups of tea tonight and ate one apple. First it was stuck up to the right back in the throat, now it feels like it's a bit further down, still to the right, right by where I feel when I swallow. It feeIs like it will never go away on its own, I'm going to the doctor tomorrow. I will stay away from popcorn in the future.
HICCUP! worked for me. Just make a hiccup-esque sound and it will dislodge. Coughing and swallowing may work, also.

You cam tell when it's a popcorn husk and not an infection, silly doctors. I have one too. I'm about to take some garlic and primrose which will make the swelling go down and hopefully allow the thing to be dislodged.

This happened to me once with a bay leaf. The only thing that worked was gagging myself. Kinda gross but it worked.
Just had this! I could feel it on the back of my throat every time I swallowed. But when feeling the back of my throat with my finger could never find it. Turns out the husk was on my tongue right at the back! Try rubbing your tongue at the back! Worked for me!
CLIF BARS!! Nothing was working for me, food or drink, and I was freaking out. Finally a Clif bar did the trick. (A harder, drier bar might even work better.) Just chew a good-sized bite very little, and swallow as big a bite as you can. Repeat if necessary.
I just kept working at it with my finger and flexing my tonsils (however the hell you do that). Plus a combination of all the other stuff and chewed up jolly ranchers. Mf was half the size of a kernel.
I have a popcorn flake thing in my throats and I don't know how to get it out
I used a waterpic and it worked great! Works great to blast your gumline as well for more hidden kernel skins.
Waterpic will do the trick.
I actually get this quite often. I should probably stop eating popcorn. But I've found what always works for me is to take a drinking straw and poke it so the husk is in the middle. That way it dislodges and gets trapped in the straw.
I felt something scratchy in the back of my throat, I thought for sure it was a popcorn shell. I tried chugging coke, eating bread, pudding, coughing, even tried a toothbrush, but I still felt it. Until I tried something strange. I did a tongue roll and tried to swallow my saliva, and after three tries, I coughed out the shell. Give it a try it may help.
If you have a popcorn husk stuck try gargling with water or try eating a spoonful full of peanut butter. It worked for me.
You saved my life
O M G I have had this husk in since yesterday, and it is driving me up the walls! I have gargled with water, and eaten bread, and I am eating a granola bar right now to try and get rid of it, and I need help!
