In 5/2017.. I ended up in ER with acute gallbladder attack ...weighed 253lbs..diagnosed with NAFLD ( nonalcoholic fatty liver disease)and gallstones inside a very inflamed gallbladder with fluid around it...they wanted to remove the gallbladder.
Told them no way... I've completely changed my diet.. absolutely No high fructose corn syrup.. which is pure poison for your liver and yet is in almost everything that most people eat daily. Read labels.. it unbelievable the c**p they are trying to feed us. I stopped all white food.. white sugar, flour, rice, potatoes. These foods are bleached/chlorinated... poison. I stopped Vegetable oils..canola, soybean, corn.... anything hydrogenated is poison for liver. No processed foods or meats...... if you can't pronounce it... don't eat it. So... you may ask ...What to eat then? Fresh vegetables, fruit, very lean meat (love chicken/tuna/fish). Coconut, avocado and olive oils only in my diet. For healing gallbladder...drinking apple cider vinegar (with the mothers in it.. Acadia and Bragg's are good) in water with honey is awesome at dissolving gallstones and stopping a gallbladder attack.
For healing liver.. lots of unsweetened Apple sauce, cucumber, pear, papaya and lots of liver detoxing drinks... (easy google). And walnuts... great for liver.
After 6 months of good eating... had only 3 small gallbladder attacks ( mainly because I cheated and ate something I shouldn't have) . November had ultrasound of liver and gallbladder... no more inflammation... stones have reduced size .and liver is healing nicely! Plus I lost 53 lbs without exercising a lick! Doc was really impressed. But I do have the same feeling in my right side.. and it's when I do cheat... eating some kind of processed food.

I hope not, I first started having a pulsating throb on my right side below the rib cage; eventually pressure pain, it started after being in Las Vegas for the Superbowl with about 12 other crazy guys. We drank a lot. Came home and went on a cruise, had the free drink package. Yes I think it is alcohol related. Going to the E.R. today, pressure seems more intense when exercising or walking. Good luck, tks.

Has anyone tried the keto diet? It’s like once I changed over to it I now have this same discomfort.

After a year of seeing a GI doc for severe abdominal bloating a friend convinced me to go see a Naturopath, as they do completely different and more intensive types of tests. One of the tests, which I took twice because my MD's told me they are "unreliable" tests, came back positive both times for Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth. After treating me for this, I am feeling much better. My MD never would have treated me for the Bacterial Overgrowth, they've all told me it's bogus.

I personally will always get an ND's second opinion in the future. I've researched a lot more about this recently and have found that there is a whole pile of recent research that my MDs are unaware of, because it is new (within the last 10 years), and it takes 20 - 50 years for new research to become practice in the MD world.

Anyway, just thought I'd share my experience. Whenever you feel pain and a Dr. says you are fine, try an ND

I have the same pressure what at times is unbearable. I was told I had a gallstone and had gallbladder removal last June. I noticed pretty much immediately the same pressure was still there and mention it to my Doctor Who said that was normal. Now almost a year later it seems to be getting worse and it probably does have something to do with diet. I am constantly putting pressure against the bottom of my rib cage there on the right side which makes it feel better for some reason. It is slightly comforting to find other people who have this because I’ve mentioned it to my doctors and they seem clueless. I don’t want to run a bunch of tests with no results - huge waste of time and money. I will keep checking back to see if anybody has any real results. Thank you everyone for posting! I am 61 eat fairly healthy, walk 2 to 3 miles a day, yoga, swim, sail. I am active And feel healthy with the exception of that constant pressure.

So i'm not imagining things... other people feel this too. This pressure under my right rib cage started maybe 5 years ago and comes back every now and then. It mostly bothers me when i'm sitting... uncomfortable sitting at my desk at work and sitting in my car. It usually only lasts a day or two, then back in November 2017 it lasted a whole week so i went to the doctor. Blood work, x-ray, ultrasound. Normal everything. Next day it went away so i didn't complain. But i knew it'd be back. This is probably the first time it's been back for a while. In November i assumed it was from that one night of drinking too much for Halloween. This time it could be because of drinking at Easter. But i also started the Whole30 diet the day after Easter which removes all processed foods or anything containing sugar. I'm on day 5 and have this pain again. Maybe it will take a while to feel the benefits of this cleanse? Maybe it's something else? All I've read is NOT to get my gallbladder removed and MAYBE diet works. I'm all about avoiding surgery and welcoming natural ways to better myself. I workout 5-6 times a week consistently and eat healthy so i don't understand what this is. I know it will go away again but it'd be nice to know how to avoid it. Avoid alcohol? A Specific thing may be nice to know.

I noticed the same thing after being on the keto diet! I thought it was just a coincidence but now I know it’s not. I’m going back on the hallelujah diet and never going off if it. I felt better in my life while on my diet.

I am having the same symptom of a little pressure on the right side abdomen—not painful, just an odd feeling. The key thing is that it started soon after I began to cure my GERD which had become very severe due to stress and diet. Luckily I read a medical journal that listed the one agreed upon treatment for a GERD: which is to lose weight. That means diet and—if you can do it—exercise.

I am doing both and 99% of my GERD is gone. But, the detox (I believe) also causes side effects as my body is passing all the junk. I drink Aloe Vera water because it helps with both digestion and soothing the stomach lining. But... drinking aloe vera water also causes mild constipation. So my guess is that the odd pressure feeling is partially due to IBS.

BTW my blood work up to last year has always come back good with no elevated levels in any area.

I will cut back on the aloe Vera water and keep a healthy detox diet going and see how things go.

Folks I'm reading this thread and finally I'm on a thread that describes exactly what I am experiencing... discomfort under tight rib cage especially sitting or driving and the odd sharp spasm and daily a wierd feeling like in pregnancy of baby feet moving around that area. And actually in the last year it's become more noticeable, I've developed belly fat for no obvious reason and I have been told I have a grade 1 fatty liver (non alcohol related, I don't drink). Blood work and sonographies clear except yhe fatty liver. Curious.... let's keep talking and figure how to sort this out!

This is crazy.... I’ve been searching the internet for anything that could explain what I’m feeling... Nothing has come close until I found this thread.

The sensation I’m having is lower. It almost feels like a golf ball rolling around under the right side of stomach when I’m in a seated position. If I lay on my back and pull my knee into my chest, the feeling moves higher to just below my rib cage.

I’m almost certain that it’s something to do with my ascending colon. possibility gas or some other type of inflammation. I’ve already had all my blood work and a colonoscopy done. Going for a CT scan in a couple of days. I’ll let you know if/when I get it figured out.

I had the same weird pressure on the right side under my rib cage, with sometimes a 'fluttery' spasm when sitting primarily. No pain but uncomfortable and a bit irritating. For me it was a symptom of mineral deficiency (magnesium and potassium) combined with not drinking enough water. A few supplements and increased water intake and it was gone in a couple of days. Comes back from time to time, if I forget to take my supplements or get dehydrated but easy to get back on track. I'd recommend getting tested (see a naturopath if your GP isn't on board). Worth a try!

Had this for years.... its stress and bad posture sitting. Get your life in order and relax and you'll find it slowly dissipate. No smoking, no sugars, no fat foods. Just normal living and go for daily walks. Lexapro helped me a lot for the panic. Also, take some Vit D and Magnesium. Those help with slightly inflamed cartilage.

If you're dealing with serious pain, go see a doc. For the "babys foot" issue... just clean up and enjoy each moment until further notice.

I was diagnosed with gastritis, I've had multiple test and everything comes back clean. All I know is that it's a diet thing. I would recommend when you do feel the discomfort to take a Zantac and if it clears up it just might be gastritis or acid reflux related. If it doesn't get better after taking the zantac then it eliminates that. Let me know if that works. Thanks
