I think I have the same thing going on right now too. Mine is on my cheek actually, and there is NO whitehead that I can see for right now. It hurts super bad and if I put my finger in my mouth and go to the spot where it, I can actually feel it. Is that ok? It is also very red & swollen! Just if my hair swipes past it really quickly, it has the worse pain I have ever had! I just put some peroxide on it about 10 minutes ago and it bubbled...A LOT. I'm not sure if its some type of a pimple or something worse. Thinking of going to the Dr.'s soon though to have it checked out. I'll get back to you if I get an answer.

Hi everyone.

Trying to find answers to the same thing with no joy. I'm 24 and the same in that I hardly ever had spots during teens. I started with this about 5 months ago when a small red blotch apperared on my cheek. It then spread further on my cheek, as red dots and lumps, and then onto my other cheek, forehead and sometimes on my chin. I went to my doctors as it was really getting me down and the only thing he could think it would be is Roseacea. Only thing is that it doesn't normally hit until 30 + so he was a bit baffled (didn't give me great confidence!!) He gave me agel to use calle Acea (there's 2 types so you have to request one for Rosecea) and said to try it 8 weeks. If after 5-6 weeks no difference go back to try anti-biotics. I'll be honest I used it for 3 weeks twice daily and found it wasn't doing much so stopped. I haven't been back yet, but just over Christmas and when I have had a major work load the redness came back with a vengence and I know have quite a big lump on my cheek, again with no head, and it hurts. Not overly, but irritatingly. Before I never had any pain.

I'm going to go back to doc's (although i don't want to be started on a course of anti-biotics for the wrong thing) but I definitely definitely think it's down to stress. I have gone through so much since August when it all started, and although I don't feel stressed out, your body can react very perculiar. It may be worth you all looking at the signs of Roseacea to see if it relates to you as there are many factors which trigger it off. Stress is number one along with cold weather (coldest weather we've ever had where I am at the moment), hot weather plus so many more so you could try avoiding some to see it helps reduce symptoms.

Don't know if this would've helped but I hope it has. I'll let you know what happens when I go back to doc's.

Im am 23, have always had clear skin maybe a pimple or two during my cycle but nothing more about 2 months ago I began getting these sore red bumps on my face that do not come to a head, they stay for about 1 week and flatten, leaving a blemish, and I do not pick at them. I have changed my detergent, stopped wearing make-up, I always work out, drink water, and still nothing has changed. i am very embarrassed and frustrated with this. I have seen a dermatologist and the medicine I recieved was two creams and a pill, after a week, no change and one of the creams burned my face, I stopped using the meds and I need another solution. If anyone has any help please post. Thank you.

hi i am only young a lot younger than you guys so
i may not be right but i have a big red spot on my chin for months that had no head but was sore after
about 4 months it went and i got 5 on my cheeks my mum said they look terrible
and one day she said i think they are blackheads she got a squeezer and they all popped
this was only a couple of days ago and already 2 have dissapeared and they all look better
but at first they were just red pumps that stood out and if you picked bled but would never
get better so hopefuly you can try my advice of don't wear make up for a week and get a
black head squeezer and pick them all until the heads out then put cold water on them and
don't wear makeup for a week after well until they have heeled !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This sounds exactly like my problem. The doctor thought it was an allergic reaction first to makeup, so I stopped wearing all makeup and took the cream for 4 weeks. No luck there. So I went back and the next doctor thought it was a form of acne, and said that he didn't think it could be rosacea as I'm only 21. So now I'm on a "once a day" acne gel. Which has made my skin start to peel and bother me even more as I can't even cover the red skin up as my skin is dry and peeling. It's so embarrassing and is really getting me down, as I've always had a flawless complexion in the past. I think I'm putting it down to stress too though, from uni and finances. It's been like this for a few months now, and I'm dreading summer as I'm going on holiday and don't want to walk around with a red, sore face! Have you had any more news on your skin? Doctors seem to be pretty rubbish around this subject to be honest :-S

Im 22 and had mild acne through most of my teens that has tappered off and become very minor in my late teens to early 20's. However recently I've had a bump that was unlike any acne I'd ever seen. It started out like a regular pimple but eventually turned into more of a calous like red bump on my face. I was perplexed that my usual treatment did not clear this up. Then I decided I'd had enough of whatever this thing was. What I found out was that this is actually a pimple that grew skin over it too quickly trapping oil underneith but not allowing it to come to a head like a regular zit. The fix may seem extreme but it' the fastest way I have found to get rid of it.

First you need to determine that this is what I am describing. Take an ice cube and a tissue, wrap the ice in the tissue and apply the ice directly onto the affected area for 5-10 minutes. This will sting a bit at first but eventually the area will become numb, once that is done inspect the area, you should see the surrounding redness area descrease in size leaving a small upward bump in the middle, this is where the oil is.

Next you need to get a needle. Sterilize it with alcohol or peroxide before doing this next step. You need to then insert the needle into the area where the oil is trapped. You'll know you've hit it when you feel a small pop under your skin (this does not hurt). Once you've done that drain it as best you can by gently squeezing the area, dont push to hard or you'll end up bruising.

Once you've done that, gently clear away the drained oil with a rag or tissue and apply peroxide to the area. You may have to do this a few times throughout the day but I noticed an immediate difference in the size and redness of the lump almost immediately.

Hope this helps!

Hello, I'm 28 and I have the same problem as you all do, these red pimple like bumps that don't come to a head. This thing, whatever it is, I think it's some kind of new desease. I say that because it's contageous. I have this thing for like 5 years now, don't know how I got it, well I have a feeling I got it by kissing a girl , I notice she had red bumps but I just thought it was pimples, silly me right, so it's reoccuring. I say it's contageous, because I notice my friend having it too after me, and she and I always had great skin. Now it's definatly not herpes ( got tested, it wasnt't it) if that's what your're thinking. Ok, I urge people to respond to this message, because we all gotta have a common factor of how this thing got in our body's. Now , the doctors have no f*****g clue what this is. I believe it's some kind of bacteria , or some infection, or maybe a virus, that gets in our body and lives in our nervous system, or maybe the brain. I say the nervous system because I notice every time I stress out really bad, within hours I start to see the redness on my face and within a day it turns into a red bump. I'm sure there must be a cure. It's as if this thing sleeps in you until you wake it up, with stress, or lots of caffine, or hot drinks like tea or hot soup, it also doesn't like spicy food, ( by the way it's not rosacea ), let me see what else have I notices, too much alchohol will make it come out, ( basically you must maintain your body well hydrated at all times ). In males, if you have sex too much, they will come out, thinking too hard ( stress ) will make them come out. There also lots of foods the will make them come out, but it's hard to pin point all of them, olives is definatly one of them. I noticed that sleep, is the best way to make them go away. It's as if IT goes to sleep too. So readers, we must form a group, society, and speak out about this, so these smart scientist people can start to do reseach and make some drug, that either put it to sleep forever or for a long time, or just kill it, that would be great, wouldn't it. Oh yeah , also, this is important, I went to a dentist for root canal, so the doc had to shoot me up with that pain anastetic to numb my face and after that I didn't see it for about a year, as if it got put to sleep. Ok, This maybe be wierd but I think this thing, whatever ever it is, doesn't like cats, I noticed when I go to someones house and they have a cat and I get close to it, the same day they come out, but usaully leave in a two or three days , not a week or two like it does usually. We have to give this thing a name as well. The public must be aware of this, because I see it's spreading. And if you go to a doctor and he tells you oh it's just a kind of a pimple, punch he in the face because the f****r is lying he's clueless ass off, it's a desease, I am sure of that one. All these people having the same problem, come on now, be smart. Hopefully this helps.

Hi all,

I'm 30 and I get pretty much the same thing you are all talking about. I always get two of these 'bumps', one on the underside of my chin and the other on the right side of my jawline. In my experience these are definately stress related without a doubt as they always flare up during periods of stress..... i.e. moving house, etc.

What needs pointing out which I don't believe has been mentioned is that stress needs a release. In Eastern and Ayuverdic medicine what happens to our bodies is merely a physical manifestation of what is going on in our minds. Therefore if you are breaking out in these type of bumps it is almost definately your body attempting to release that stress via a physical outlet as you have not been able to 'dissipate' or negate the stress mentally.

Heart attacks are an extreme example of a stress response. If you examine yourselves and your own personalities you will perhaps realise that you are the sort that tends to take on more on board that they can handle or perhaps underestimate a situation and then realise that they have let themselves in for more than they bargained for when they are in the thick of things, but nonetheless you are determined to see the whole thing through. My suggestion, take up meditation, yoga and practice a sport, I have found that squash works wonders for stress release.

Anyway, peace and love to all and hope my post has helped.

I've had excellent skin all of my life, until two years ago at 29yrs of age I started getting these large painful red bumps. I get one at a time, usually on the cheek on either side of my nose. It'll swell, pulling my skin so tight that it hurts a bit, then go away after a few days sometimes leaving a scar. I have a few scars from them and it's really annoying. They keep popping up on different areas of my face. Wish I know what the heck was going on.

Hmmm, sounds like I'm not the only one with those mystery sores. Got one on my right jaw line right now. I am 42 (yay, new highscore on this thread) and the sores started about 14 years ago. Doctors came up with pretty much nothing so far. Started as sores that i got at sensory organs - mainly inside the nose or ear, later neck and recently even shoulders or back. Red, painful to touch and get real bad when tampered with. My only pattern is stress or sleep deprivation. They tend to disappear after a few days but then pop up somewhere else the next day. Usually just a single sore at the time. Very, very frustrating....

I have them too. . . ugh, I think they're from not washing my makeup brushes, stress, smoking, bad diet, diet pills, and hormones...

Most of these stories I can relate to. I am 23. Always had beautiful skin. Then in January I notice these weird bumps that have all this redness around them. I thought they were a cluster of cold sores, which I already get. Then it got them all over my chin, red, bumps with what looks like puss. Not it is right around my nose. I have gone to an estetician and she said I had roseaca, or however you spell it. But I have never had skin conditions before. Nothing makes it better, nothing makes it worse. Its just there. Red and horrible. I have had microdermabrasion, helped for like the night. I have expensive creams and masks, but nothing freaking works. I am so embarassed, especially always having nice skin. No one know what the heck this ***edited by moderator*** ** inappropriate posting** is. Why won't it go away? Never had anything like this.
