I am not sure if this is that same that you are experiencing, but I have been suffering with a tingling, burning sensation on my lips, gums, and tongue. The outside corners of my mouth are red and almost blister-like. My doctor tried a mouthwash used to treat viral infections like Thrush, but it just masked the problem. I tried all the other things like vasoline, chap stick, etc, but they seemed to worsen it. Finally I started putting an antibiotic ointment around my lips. Slowly the redness and tingling disappeared. I still have a little burning sensation right inside my mouth, but not nearly as bad. Not sure if it was the antibiotic or if it was going away on its own anyway, but may be worth a try.

Oh dear. I use Burts Bees lip balm which burns like heck and seems to make it worse. Today I started with just aloe vera on my lips. They are ugly and miserable. No white anythings. Just don’t smile and my masks for work bother it too.

I have quite sensitive lips but the color of my lips varies. Some days they are really red, and sometimes they're quite normal. What is making them red?
