Hello,
I just read your comment and it sounds exactly how I am feeling and looking right now. I just wanted to ask as this post was over a year ago, did it get better and how long did it take? I'm really upset at the moment I feel like the nose looks piggish and I look like the grinch. I got mine done 8 days ago and now I'm wishing I'd never gone ahead with it.

After a nose job, people usually wear a nasal splint for the first week. You can expect swelling and some bruising around the eyes after surgery that will begin to improve after the third day. It can, though, last up to two weeks.

Expect your nose to have a little swelling, which probably only you and your surgeon will notice. This will go away over the next six months. The final shape of your nose will be apparent after it has completely healed.

I would really love some help. I see no one had written in a while so I probably won't get any feed back but I'm hoping. I just had my nose done 8 days ago and I look just horrible to me. It looks very lion like and even bigger than before and my tip is droopy. I wondering if anyone has felt better about there nose job now and did it get better? I know it's swelling they say but it's still similar to what it's supposed to look like right?. I can't seem to stop crying about it which makes it swell more. I just wish I wouldn't have gotten it done now and scared of my reflection now. I've been keeping it covered with a mask so that I don't have to see my reflection and have a panic attack. Please any feedback would help.

Reading all of your experiences really puts me at ease. And even though this topic isn’t that active anymore, I do know that there are a lot of worried people frantically searching the internet for similar stories with a happy ending right now (I did the exact same thing). So I really want to share my story here in the hope that somewhere, someone will feel comforted by the thought of not going through this on their own. Bear in mind that my story doesn’t have a happy ending yet. At just 9 days post-surgery my nose isn’t anywhere near what I want it to be, but I have regained the faith I lost when my cast was taken off and I want to post updates here to show my progress.
On Thursday July 20th 2017 I underwent Septorhinoplasty. My severe deviated septum was corrected, my hump was removed, cartilage was placed in the space between my eyes to help straighten out my nose, the tip of my nose was upturned and more defined/narrowed. So it’s safe to say that I’ve had a lot of work done. When it comes to bruising and swelling on the eyes and face, I think I might have been one of the luckiest people out there. I woke up Friday morning with two 1 cm bruises under my eyes, which were gone when I woke up Sunday morning. The swelling that also started on Friday, was gone by the time Monday rolled around. So I’ve had bruises for 2 days and swelling for 3 days. Which is absolutely insane when you take the amount of work I had done into account.
It was mostly this that made me hopefully naive. You see I was perfectly informed about the recovery time. I knew the whole ordeal; 6-8 weeks until 80% of the swelling is gone and the remaining swelling will subside in the following year, the tip of the nose being the last that will fully recover. And to be honest, I was prepared to be unpresentable for at least 4 weeks. But I subconsciously (and wrongly) assumed that because the swelling on my face was so minimal, it would also be very minimal on my nose. And to be honest, nothing prepares you for the disappointment you feel the first time you see your new nose in the mirror. Sure you know it’s not the end result, but you still hope it’ll at least be a step in the right direction. It wasn’t my surgeon who took the cast off seven days later, but a nurse and when she told me I could look in the mirror, I couldn’t get there fast enough. You can probably imagine my shock when I saw how horrible my nose looked, I absolutely hated it. I might be a tad dramatic but it literally felt as if the clock stopped ticking and the world stopped spinning. I looked (and still look) like a duck, nothing more and nothing less. I’ve wanted Rhinoplasty since I knew that was a possibility in the first place and I spent a lot of money on it, this wasn’t the outcome I hoped for. The bridge of my nose is way too high, the tip is enormous and quite frankly, my nose basically just looks like a piece of meat that was just slapped onto my face. No shape or definition whatsoever. And the worst part: It’s still the first thing you see when you look at me.

Now 2 days later, I can’t say much has changed. The last couple days have been an emotional rollercoaster but I’ve slowly been regaining faith. It’s a long process after all and I have an amazing surgeon who I completely trust.
I’m sorry to the people who weren’t exactly waiting for a novel-length post but I just had to get it off of my chest. And if anyone is interested in updates I’ll gladly give them!

I had a rhinoplasty but only alar trimming and tip plasty since my bridge is quite high already, all she needs to do is to make my tip a bit higher but it turns out she made it higher than what I expected. My nose never bruised but it swells a bit, it's been 5 days now and 50% of swelling is gone. Im very nervous and upset because I can see the possible outcome of my nose and believe me it looks horrible!! My sisters and mom keep making me feel good by telling me it will look good. Now, i feel like I want my old nose back...So upset. I have bulbous nose. terrible :(
