Did you ever receive any help? Are you still in pain? Your symptoms sound just like mine. Have been to chiro, PT, and now accupuncture. Had MRI a few days ago, but w/ Christmas, I'm not sure when I'll get results. Thanks for any info.
I feel extremely discouraged as I read all these posts....I had told my Dr for a few yes I had horrible low bk pain he said nothing showed in MRI than I had bad hip pain which all of a sudden I had bursitis and tore my butt muscle in 2 places. Due to bad doctoring they actually missed that my si joint was jammed and it could have been fixed by a chiropractic adjustment but to much time has past and they put me on bed rest and pt from muscle tear, now 18 months on bed rest cuz it got worse and worse I can't walk at all the pain never stops and I just cry always..finally I have a good Dr but I'm in so much pain going through all the hoops and correct tests r killing me..my Dr literally just touched my hip and I guess they said I let out a noise that was horrific and a well of tears followed...I thought he hit me and can't even really remember the rest..there is way more to this story but I'm screwed and so tired. Death would b a sweet relief. Than I c these stupid people with excellent insurance cry and complaint over bs I'm so sick of it...I am so tired.
i am so sorry for your pain and totally understand how you feel. mentally coping is torture and doctors just keep passing the buck. ive come to realise that ive only got myself to help myself and i just do everything possible to make my life pain free. pain management is the key and i know from experience relying on diagnosis is making things worse. keep faith and know that you are not alone and theres always someone worse off, even though it dont feel that way. embrace the help and love affection of your loved ones and do whatever it takes to make your life easier. i feel like a failure most days as i cant be a normal mum to my 4 kids but they remind me how strong i am to be coping, hope this helps take care xx
What kind of surgeries have you had?
HELLO I AM 24 YEAR OLD, i am sufferer wih right hip pain, i do some exericse ,but its not workings, this pain start when i seting on the chair and when i standup it is stoped, plz advice me but i do to stoping this pain?
Hi Sonu, Sorry to hear about that much pain in someone so young. My 25 y/o son lives in horrible chronic pain and lives on vicoden. I've tried to avoid opiates, living on ibuprofen or naproxen for years. Will probably pay for that down the line w/ liver or kidney damage. Have you considered Chiropractic or physical therapy? Ice or heat? I found out that my pain is due to end stage osteoarthritis ~ bone on bone, no cartilage left. Probably need a hip replacement. Have you had xrays or MRI?
Hey Guys, I've been in a similar condition for years. I am now 24 years old and it all started with lower back pain and stiffness which my chiropractor at the time would just keep adjusting. That started when I was about 20 years old and it stayed that way for 2 years before my hip started to get pain as well. It got to the point it hurt too much to sit and too much to stand, pain in my lower back, hip, groin and shooting pains down my leg. I saw many chiropractors and physios until I came across one physio who did wonders. She did pressure point physio and would bruise me during sessions but she got the pain down to being bearable and onlyy needing to see her when it flared up. I tried personalised pilates sessions which also helped a lot but this was rather expensive!!! So I have stopped going. Now I have a new chiropractor who thinks the problem is due to an alignment problem between my coccyx and the gap between the pubic bones. I also have straighteneing of my upper spine and a sharp apex in my lower back which contribute to the back pain. I am a lot better than I have been with only pain when dancing and after strenuous activity like cleaning the whole house in one go. I reccomend you find a really good physio or chiropractor to get the pain down, buut if anyone finds out what the real problem is I would be greatful as I really want to be at my best again with dance. :)
Hi JadHag,
What is a physio, a physiatrist? Glad you got help. I know what you mean about the bruising. My physical therapist is "effective" as she calls it ~ I call it Brutal! My chiro & a friend that's had a hip replacement have both recommended the same ortho surgeon who only does hips & knees. I have an appt. at the end of January. My PT also thinks I have some IT Band tightness, which causes alot of the hip, leg & groin pain. Has your physio said anything about that?
Hey atvrider,
Yeah a physio is a physiotherapist...I'm an Aussie lol. Yeah I do have tight ITB but I use a foam roller to loosen it off...very painful but works. I'm not keen on going down the surgery path. Since I have seen improvement, I feel there should be a way of making it better without surgery...my Chiro thinks a break from dancing would be beneficial too, so I've stopped stretching so much and only strentch a little now. Let us all know what the surgeon thinks about your hip :)
Hey Jayzgurlie,
everything ou explains sound just like me...except the torn butt muscles. But I think the fact I get the muscles in my butt masaged a lot may be the reason they haven't torn and also that I stretch it a lot. I hope you find some ggod help :)
My back pain and leg pain started after I had been taking statins for about a year. In fact, the whole cholesterol and high blood pressure cocktail of drugs which state as a side effect muscle soreness and weakness. Now I am off of the statins and on beta blockers and other bp drugs. Some mornings the pain is so bad, I can hardly get myself to walk. The most pain is on the right side quad, groin, gluts and lower back. I have no pain while sitting still, but muscles very sore when I rub them. I have tried stopping a couple of the drugs for a day or two and that helps, but bp goes up. Bananas and sport drinks help a little. Hot shower also provides some release. I still can not bend enough to put a sock on my right foot. I am overweight and the pain makes excercise highly undersireable. When I tried it, my pain got worse. Personally, I think the problem is chemical and would be better if excercise was possible. Cardiologist does not give a rip about my pain. I take muscle relaxers to go to sleep, My mobility has gotten very limited. There is a difference in the pain level depending on what I eat, but the connection is very vague. There are a number of ads about homeopathic pills, I have not tried any of them. Sound like rip off to me. I am a 64 year old male, who has been very active until the statins started the pain.
Hi Doug,
Have you tried physical therapy? Alot of our pain sounds the same, but mine is more from arthritis. Bone on bone, so a hip replacement is in my near future. But PT helps me learn stretches that I do at home daily. Being overweight doesn't help, (I'm in the same boat). But I do a bike warm up at PT for 5 min., and after the first minute, my leg & back don't hurt. Is walking painful after the morning has passed? How about a recumbent bike? Or massage? Hope something helps soon ~ pain sucks.
This could be due to prostate problem, tell your urologist to check the prostate. Even i have the same symptoms from 2 years.
I have had the same thing since 2006. It is now 2013. I went everywhere and did everything. They finally took an xray and said it was severe hip degeneration and I need a hip replacement. I don't have insurance. Not working. They have new stem cell therapy where you get the stem cells from your own blood, then they are injected into the area around the joint and you heal yourself. I am going to try that if I can. Good luck.
