I have no idea how I got it and didn't even know what it was until I went to the doctor. I searched the internet extensively, tried all the suggestions about bleaching clothes, blankets, etc. including Epsom salt to bleach bath's (worked enough to get to sleep but back in the morning) and after finally getting a skin infection on top of the tormenting itch, it was the 2nd application of topical cream Promethrin that finally got rid of it and continued daily washing of everything for a couple weeks after symptoms where gone to make sure nothing remained. The final episode was showing after the cream treatment, I felt it itching on my lower leg and decided to turn hot water, as hot as I could stand it. The hot water felt great and relieved the itch and suddenly it felt like something popped on my lower leg where the itch was. I looked down and it looked like something exploded out from under my skin. The itch was totally gone and apparently, whatever was left under my leg skin couldn't take the hot water and burst out completely leaving tiny pop marks. Finally done!!!

I don't know your situation where you are at. But you will never and I repeat never get rid of scabies as long as they are In the house with them. They are highly contagious and if she isn't bathing, she will never rid they either. This is much worse than head lice or bed bugs.
You have to sterilize your environment. You must wash your clothes, sheets, blankets, all bedding, and anything cloth in high heat, and dry in highest setting then steam press everything before it touches you after a shower and treatment. Ironing is essential. Call your case worker and explain. This needs to be dealt with because it is serious. It can cause secondary infections. You will infect your school or workplace and anyone you have any contact with. If someone sits in your seat, hugs you, sits on your bed, or any extended contact they are susceptible. Even automobiles have to be treated.. One of the secrets to getting free and then staying free is your environment. Bag anything you can not wash, especially stuffed animals, and anything cloth. Must dust and vacuum daily and throw out the vacuum bag after vacuuming. Many people deal with them for years because they aren't diligent about their environment Clean toilet seat before and after every use, especially if someone else is using it. Clean all furniture after vacuuming. Bag bed and pillows with bed bug mattress and pillow covers. Like we have read it isn't unusual for people to have them for many years. They use to call it the seven year itch. I think they stopped at seven years because the people either died or killed themselves. I can't imagine what it would be like if there wasn't ready available treatments like we have especially through the internet. Can you imagine no running water or hot water heater, or washer and dryer, with scabies? NO WAY...Over 120 degrees is what you need to kill them. They don't like pure 3% peroxide. You must treat your neck and hair with your body and don't forget the bottom of your feet and between your toes. They turn black when dead. They are very common in Germany. They take very hot showers everyday to help keep from getting them. I have nursing aids who help me. It was one who had lived in Germany that discovered mine. I picked them up at a hospital emergency room. She said that is how she learned about the scalding showers twice a day. She still takes them to prevent infestations. I pray all goes well for you. Blessing. I just realized how long ago you posted and that you probably already have help. At least I pray you have and that all has gone well for you.

Be very careful with diatomacous earth. Inhaling this stuff can also tear up you lungs. Those sharp little diatons are sharp enough to shread the lining of your lungs. So, great, no more bug buy noe you are on oxygen the rest of your shortened life.

I almost fried doing this, and I love chillies. I don't recommend it but see how it goes. It is one of the MOST painful "firestorm" and it is still burning... I'm glad to make it out of my shower after that. Praise be to God. Prayers are powerful. Not for everyone (I'd say don't try doing this for 10mins, probably rince an are at a time, please don't be a hero like me)

I would like to share my scabies story with everyone because I assume it is a common one and I hope I can guide a few people in the right direction. I was told by my family doctor that I had scabies and needed to treat my 8 week old baby and 2 year old son as well. Over the next 3 weeks I was seen by FOUR DOCTORS who TOLD ME I HAD SCABIES. I had to put Lindane and Permithren on myself (2 separate treatments), permithren on my 8 week old and 2 year old and treat my house. I STILL could not get rid of it! I did everything I could try to save my babies from this horrible plague. I was convinced they had travelled to my scalp, so I cut the 10" ponytail off my head one night (compliments to the side effects of Lindane), took bleach baths etc. I FINALLY WENT TO A DERMATOLOGIST in tears because my now 11 week old was developing scabies on her eye lids and the pediatrician said it couldn't be treated. I went through 3 weeks of completele hell and in the end the dermatologist concluded that I had poison ivy, my 2 year old had chiggers and my infant had a rash from the permithren. I beg you if you're reading this; put away the bleach, empty your Amazon shopping cart and put the ceyanne pepper back on the spice rack and have your diagnosis confirmed by a dermatologist. He said he gets at least 70 cases a year of people who have gone to extreme measures to rid their bodies and homes of a disease they never had in the first place. Remember I saw FOUR family doctors before I saw him and they ALL misdiagnosed me.

THERE HAVE BEEN PEOPLE THAT HAVE HAD SCABIES FOR MONTHS OR EVEN A YEAR WHO HAVE BEEN CURED BY DOIN THIS ONCE. ANYONE Almost can do this. 1) Start boiling all the water you can fit on your stove in the biggest pots you have on the highest heat you have(may not have to if water gets hot enoug. 2) While they're getting to a boil, Get a timer vapable of 20min countdown. Also get 500grams (17.85ounces) (2cups?) of salt. table salt like you would put in your food (I think sea salt has also cured people of scabies). 3) when the pots are at a boil, Get in the bathtub and start the water on as hot as you can possibly stand it while having on the fastest output of water you can with the drain still unplugged (so that you can start with the hottest water possible when you plug the drain) Then 4) once you have it as hot as you can stand it, plug the drain to start with the hottest possible water flowing as fast as you can. 5) let the water fill up enough to add the 500grams of salt (about half of your foot should be sticking up out of the water, toes pointing towards the ceiling while half submerged in water. This is the stage you add all 500grams of the salt to the hot water and mix/stir it all in as thoroughly as possible. 6) Then, as you get used to the heat and are capable of making it hotter, turn the heat up more as hot as you can stand, then get used to it again and turn it up to as hot as you can stand again and keep repeating this while periodically relaxing down into the bath at small intervals that you can handle. The goal is for you to be able to fit as much of your body as you can under the water while getting it hotter and hotter and being at the point where it's as hot as you can possibly stand with room enough for you to add the stove water later. 7) Now start the timer for 20 minutes. 8) when you are as used to the water as you are going to get, start adding the stove water SLOWLY without burning yourself (pour it as far as you can away from you) until your tub is near full or you run out of water. Relax slowly into the water a little bit at a time until you have as Much water as you can over your entire body. 9) This is the hard part. Force yourself to Stay all the way in the water until the timer runs out. Scream, grunt, cry, or do whatever you have to to stay in the tub. 10). If it's possible at some point during the wait, move the water around you for extra heat. There will be an intense itching when it's really hot but if you go past this point it can start to feel so hot it feels good, like scratching. 11). When the timer is done get out and drip dry NO TOWEL DRY (TO allow salt to be on you and working as long as possible) but if you must, then pat dry with clean cloths. Don't wipe yourself. 12) cool off and enjoy your immense and immediate relief from that horrible itching, wait until you have fully drip dried enough to put on fresh clothes. 14) consider similar less harsh treatment for your face and head while using a snorkel or some sort of breathing under water thing. 13) repeat once more as needed later or the next day if you need it. 14) Kiss those mites AND EGGS good bye that were literally boiled alive and dehydrated to death by the salt (sometimes possible to look at bottom of your tub and see all the c**p that came out of your skin from the heat and pressure). The salt gets really deep into the burrow air holes and the pores of your skin when the water is that hot. It kills surface mites almost instantly and gets to the mites underneath and eggs and dehydrates them, robbing them of the moisture in our skin that they need to survive as well as sometimes being brought to the surface by that level of heat right into the salt death trap insta-kill. heat treat the ENTIRE BODY THIS WAY. Some have reported all wounds healed within 24hrs. THE ONLY WAY THIS FAILS IS IF YOUR WATER IS NOT HOT ENOUGH.
