I had gallbladder surgey 10 months ago and for the past few months on and off I get that same pain. Sometimes it feels like a small knot right where the gallbladder pain use to be between where 2 if my scars are located. Very tender to the touch and itches sometimes. It does eventually go away. I even joke that my gallbladder must have grown back, because I have the photo from my surgery to prove they took mine out for me to see. Lol. I was also thinking that it could be pain caise by foods I eat or stress. Hoping that it is just the scar tissue from surgery. By reading all these post I'm glad to hear this is pretty normal. Thought I was going crazy with like you said a phantom gallbladder.

Same thing happened to me just a couple of weeks ago and I have a DR's appointment this week. The pain started after I wore a pair of jeans with a really tight elastic waist and the next morning I was hurting really badly in my right upper side through to my back. I think it just aggravated the scar tissue where they took out my gall bladder. I hope and pray it will get better.

I had my gallbladder removed 3 years ago and about 2 inches below my top incision a small knot is under the skin. Painful to the touch. Is this scar tissue?

I did exactly what you did and saw every specialist under the sun including a Urologist. In the ER multiple times a year and at least 10 CT scans that showed nothing. Depend a Laparoscopy They look into your stomach and inside. That's only when they found a twisted scar tissue on my colon and my tons of scar tissue on my liver. I had it removed today. In constant pain, all through my stomach and back. I couldn't eat without my stomach swelling up like I was five months pregnant. I had colonoscopy, endoscopy, CT's, everything! Nothing found it until they did a laparoscopy. Every doctor kept telling me nothing was wrong and all blood tests were normal. DEMAND a laparoscopy. It's the only true way to see what's going on in your insides. So thankful I did it and had the scar tissue removed. Never had problems until my gallbladder was taken out. I hope this helps you.

I'm having the same issue. I had my GB removed in laser surgery 7 years ago. Over a year ago, I began feeling nauseated and vomited on a daily basis. I am NEVER hungry. When I do eat, I'm full after a bite or two and nauseated all over again. I throw up a lot of bile and sometimes blood. Zofran and Phenergan don't work anymore. I went to a GI specialist, who barely looked at me and rushed me through everything (probably because he didn't like my insurance company), then said "reduce your stress level" and sent me on my way and wiped his hands of me. Now I have more symptoms...SHARP PAIN behind my right ribcage that shoots through to my back. Everything goes "through" me, either up or down. My family doctor suggested cannabis therapy so I could at least work as I'm the head of my household. I HATE HATE HATE smoking, others smoking around me...ugh..I couldn't stomach the idea. But, when I visited my first dispensary, they had meditated caramels and Kushy Punch gummies that completely takes away the nausea and gives me just enough of an appetite to at least eat a little bit. An "edible" lasts 6 hours for me, but this is just masking the symptoms. I'm still feeling pain and have the other sympt6, yet I cannot get a diagnosis ! I'd rather get diagnosed and treated so I can be back to normal, than spending $200/month of cannabis edibles.

Have you ever tried physical therapy? I did and it helped with the adhesions pain. I don't know if you have tried it but it certainly worked for me for the pain. However, I still have the same symptoms you all have with the gall bladder being removed, me too, me too. No fun and sad after we have to make sure we are near a toilet, how romantic! Again, your not alone here! I tried diets, more frequent small meals and all the little tips and it is just a new way of life for me now and I make sure I am near a tiddy bowl and I drink more water than I ever have. Pop or anything with a whole lot of fat in it or fried food will make me sick but the diet is important whether you know it or not. So is knowing you have a problem and adhesions are a real problem, they are disabling and so is the pain. So please know, your not alone friends!]

im having the exact same problem I'm 25 and had the surgery about 4 years ago and today found out I have to go talk to a surgeon to find out if there is any thing they can do, I to cannot do many of the things I use to do and am in pain a lot and horrible pain if I strain that area feels like something is trying to rip out of me. I was told it is most likely scar tissue and not shore what the surgeon is going to say.

I had my gall bladder removed 40 years ago and had odd twinges for years. Last week it started being really painful under the scar (which is huge) not sure weather too see the GP or hope it settles. It really hurts if I bend over.
