I have exactly the same as above - it could have been written by me. I now have a scar (vertical also) which has had a recurrent infection and am on antibiotics at the moment again for this. I feel 'dragged' on the right side under my ribs and am in a dreadful state as regards my bowels and bloating is a really big problem. Clothes i own now have to vary by three sizes depending on the day and what size my stomach is! I would love to find the answer as my life is so miserable with the pain etc.

I am thankful I found this post since I have been experiencing the same symptoms: pain and tightness on the right side of my abdomen. Sometimes nausea at night. My GI doctor promptly prescribed a CT scan. I would like to advise everyone here to avoid having CT scans without researching side effects of this procedure. The amount of radiation released into your body during a CT scan is several hundreds of times that of regular X-rays. This can lead to cancers later in life. I opted out and decided to have a blood check to make sure liver function is ok. If all ok, my pain is probably caused by scar tissue or adhesions formed after emergency gallbladder surgery. Not much to be done about that..

Hi, I had my gall bladder removed 2 yrs ago also and 2.5 yrs ago I had surgery for acid reflux. I have been experiencing pain in my chest and back, severe pain! Was to the Dr. today and it may be my heart but the Dr. also said it can be scar tissue causing the pain. I was put on 25 mg of Amitriptyline every night at bedtime. I am to call Dr. in 10days and let her know how I am doing. She said it can be increased to 50mg. Also sometimes this particular med does not work for pain and in that case they use Nuerontin. She also told me that surgery will cause more scar tissue and its not an option (which I dont want to do anyway) Asl your Dr. to put you on one of these meds and see if it helps. Good Luck!!

Wow, your story sounds exactly like mine. I had my gallbladder out laparoscopically 2 1/2 weeks ago and have had constant upper right quadrant pain and nausea with an occasional lowgrade fever. I'm not hungry. BMs are infrequent and irregular even with "help". I've had three follow up visits with him and he finally mentioned adhesions since he told me that he had to scrape adhesions from my stomach to get the gallbladder out. I didn't even know I had a gallbladder problem until a week before surgery when I thought I had appendicitis. After the surgery he told me that the lower pain was from the pre-surgery adhesions. Since the surgery I feel sick all the time. I went five days without pain meds because I had an allergic reaction to the last ones he gave me (and thus no sleep) because my surgeon didn't call me back either for several days. Finally got in today and got some new meds. Hope they work. But yeah, I feel like doctors don't believe us. Neither do my co-workers who have repeatedly told me that I should be fine by now because their uncle/grandpa/mother/whoever had the same surgery and they were fine in a week. I also think I went back to work too soon (5 days after the surgery) because I am a teacher and could sit most of the day. I have been out on and off since and am told to "take it easy" which is easier said than done when you live alone.

I have the same pain7 months after my gallbladder removal. The pain is exactly under one of the scars from the laproscopy on the right side by my ribs in the front and the pain radiates in the back too. The surgeon said she removed scar tissue when she did remove my gallbladder. This was from removal of my cecum from colon cancer two years prior. I have acid burning in stomach all the time and bouts of diarehha along with the pain. I'm ready to go back to the surgeon and ask what's up. Miserable!

I also developed pain on my right side & my surgery was Jan 2014. Three months before that I had a gall stone flushed from my liver duct. I wonder if I have scare tissue from the 1st procedure? I recently cancelled a CatScan because of my high deductible. Now Im sorry & will have to reschedule. Nothing is perfect is it?? Sorry I have no answers only questions

Many times I have wished I had my gallbladder back. It was not as much trouble as this.

This is all too familliar. I had my GB out 5 years ago lathrascopically. About 6 months after, I started noticing the pain. It comes and goes, and sometimes months go by where I don't notice it. My Dr. says it is possible it could be scar tissue. The pain is right under my ribs on the right side. Not tender to the touch, but radiates straignt through to my back, and over on my right side. Sometimes whe I lay down, it feels like I am laying on a golf ball. I shift a little and the sensation goes away. Sometimes the pain is bad, and other times it is just annoying. Sometimes the pain seems closer to my belly button. Dr. Says next step is a CT scan to make sure it is nothing serious. Lately I don't seem to be able to eat as much, and feel full sooner than I used to. Also, very nauseous from time to time. Hard to live a normal life.

I have the exact same symptoms! The doctors can't find anything wrong. They have done countless xrays, CTs Ultrasounds and endoscopy but can't find anything. They have said I have a lot of GERD and weak stomach muscle. I have had this pain since my gallbladder has been out. When the doctor took my gallbladder out the doctor said it was very scarred. What makes me think could there still be scarring causing the pain? I too can't eat without feeling nauseous. I feel so full after eating just a little bit. The doctors have kind of given up because they have done all the possible test. They are afraid to do the ECRG. My PCP thinks it should be done but it's very dangerous. I just want something done because it is getting in the way of my everyday life. How have you made out?

It's nice to have this community of people to talk to and feel like we are not alone. For me, the side pains are still here. They come, and they go. Hard to know what to do. The stomach issues have gotten better so that is good. I have another Dr visit this morning so we will see if he wants to move forward with the CT scan or not.

Exactly the time span of the removal of my Gallbladder as you and I have every symtoms you described!! It is so extremely painful, I can only wear elastic banded or tie pants around my middle section. Over the past year I have steadily gained weight too. I know the pitching pain of " something" when you bent over as I experienced that also. I can not have a bowel movement on my own therefore I take a very expensive drug that moves me, but it just runs out without much control. I eat one small meal a day and no snacks for fear of bloating, nausea and pain that follows. My Gallbladder surgery incision is vertical just an inch from my belly button and runs to the top of my stomach and is very painful. If there is scar tissue it can attach to the intestine and bile ducts. I if that happens the bile the Liver releases to the stomach for aid in digestion is impaired and unable to digest "fat"!! What is wrong with these doctors today that we have to search for clues and possible answers to our pain and misery!?? I am 64 and I believe they think we are hypochondriacs! I have virtually become housebound, we should not have to live like this. Today's doctors are "all for Preventative Medicine", eat right (water even makes me sick), exercise,,,right, when I can't even bend over, I'm past the preventative stage! I feel your pain!
