I had my GB taken out about 3 years ago. Before leaving the hospital I told the nurse that three out of the 5 incisions were seeping and they discharged me anyway as it was a laperscopic outpatient procedure. Two days later I was vomitting bile and couldnt move the pain was so bad. Was rushed to ER where I was given admitted for 4 days with antibiotics and etc. Now, I have been to my PCPhad x-rays, ultra sound, CT and a visit to the ER. Have seen my Gastro doctor as I have pain under right rib that goes into the back and also down about two or three inches below the right rib. I have also been having major diarrhea and havee lost a lot of weight. Have been nauseous and have had stomach and intestinal spasms. I will wake up with major back pain in the right rib area. All tests are negative. She put me on some more meds for the spasms but doesnt help the pain or the diarrhea. I have been complaining for well over a year and now all of this has me on the sofa married to my heating pad. I am very active and have just been down for about 8 weeks. Have a recheck appointment with gastro doctor in two weeks and she said I might have to go to a general surgeon as it may be scar tissue. Would that cause major diarrhea too? So tired of this. Yes literally tired also. Try to keep a smile on my face aroud my family but end up yelling at everyone as it hurts but I don't mean to. Hope they can fix this and it is so nice to know I am not alone. I don't take pain meds as I have a 26 year old autistic son and need to be alert for him. Have to say. I have been scared. Happy to have found this site

I also had my gall bladder removed about 25 years ago, same cut about 5 inches long just above the naval. I have had digestive problems, acid reflux, hardened stools in my colon, open sores in my stomach from the acid reflux, stomach bloating like I was 5mths pregnant, vision problems, among many other symptoms, and the past 6 years sick all the time, I told the doctor it was like my body was poisoning itself. Lots of lab work, lots of scans and no answers. So last May I was told I had two small hernias and the surgeon suggested getting the repaired. So I pleaded with him to go up in the gall bladder area and look around and see if he could see any thing abnormal, his response was "it's very rare but it could be scar tissue causing the problem". So after surgery he came to recovery quite excited, here is what happened. My colon had attached itself to my liver with scar tissue, the liver was lifted and twisted. So he cut every thing loose, and I am now 95% symptom free. Turns out my liver wasn't working right because it couldn't, the colon being pinched off, of course didn't let my bowels work correctly(which only added to the problem). Bottom line trust your instincts, trust what your body is saying.

I had my gallbladder removed October 2011 and started having the same symptoms a year ago...dull ache, with a twisting and pulling sensation in my RUQ with severe bloating, constant digestive problems. I went to my GP and when I told her my symptoms she dismissed it all saying that it was normal after gallbladder removal and attributed my symptoms to being over weight. Needless to say, I have not gone back to her since that day. I was referred to a different GP by a friend and he said it sounded like postcholecystectomy syndrome and he referred me to a Gastroenterologist. I hope he can fix me :(

Hi there,
Did you get relief from your symptoms with massage therapy? Has anyone had success with myofascial release or the Wurn Technique? Thanks for any help you may provide.

I have had all these same symptoms. Took me 3 months here in Canada to get in to see the surgeon just for him to tell me that I had a pulled muscle, he wrote a script for a drug that has high side effects and told me to come back in six weeks.  since then I have been working at finding another solution.  I have been to an Osteopath who has told me that my liver is hooked on the scar tissue.  he has been working at manipulatiing the liver away from the scarring.  After 4 treatments I finally have some relief.  I am also following a fodmap diet from thr naturolpath staying away from food that cuases gas.  The sad part is I have temporary relief, but not permanent

I could have written this post - I have exactly the same symptoms had my gall bladder removed 27 years ago and have suffered right side pain bloating on the right side (my scar is about 8 inches long - doctor thought it was inflamation of the rib cage but my chest wall hurts too down to my back. The pain is intensified and lasts for weeks, sometimes months when I am stressed!

Had my gallbladder out 21 years ago..tests, test and more tests. Pain..........CT scans, x-rays, liver biopsy, more tests...adhesions. Nothing to do about it. I get these flair ups once and a while. Some mild some severe...some last a few days, some a few months.......they seem to get worse as time goes but, there is no other difficulties; e.g. intestinal blockage. Just hang in there.....

Let me ask you a question...do your pains come in what I call flare ups ? I'll be symptom free for months then all of a sudden I get these adhesion pains where the gallbladder once was........same spot.Right through to the back. Sometimes these flare ups last a few days or even a few months......sometimes the pain is mild, sometimes worse but not too sever, At times I feel as though it spasms or pulls, like it's tugging on something. All my tests over the years since I had the gallbladder taken out 21 years have been negative. It seems as if with every flare up the symptoms; pain gets a little worse. When I'm not having a flare up all I can feel is this little pull where the gallbladder was. Just wondering........

Did you ever get yourself checked out. It sounds like you have a hernia, I have just had a hernia repair with mesh. I had Gallbladder removal 20 yrs ago and this weakened my abdominal wall which over time resulted in a hernia.

Man, it has been 9 months since I had 55% of my liver removed and my gallbladder removed. I am having tightness, pain on and off, muscle contractions, and unable to walk any distance. I have had 3 cat scans. My doctor and the emergency room have given up on me I think. So frustrated. It has been going on for the last 2 months. How are you doing now?

For breaking up scar tissue, even very old tissue, check out Rapid Relief Technology, a small hammerlike electronic device that has shown great results breaking up scar tissue. I have no affiliation with the company so this is not a biased post, but saw it in use with someone and it may just be what you need
