ive had the a similar thing, mine first started about 7 months ago when i was swinging a bat for baseball, it came on instantly between the scapula (shoulder blade) and the spine in the rhomboid muscle area. It was not bad then it only came on when i was batting and nothing else. Then i had an injury in my lower back and had pt and never felt the paain until 4 months ago i was swinging a bat again and again it happened. It hurt really bad, but again wouldnt stay until i did something that caused it to go off 2 months ago and now its constant. Every once in a while it will get aggrevated so bad that i have had to go to hospital because it would cause difficulty and breathing and the pain was so extreme. I have seen 6 doctors ( 3 different orthapedic doctors a physiologist, a doctor in the ER, and neuroligst, and no one can tell me really what it is, they all tell me the same thing but i dont get any answers. I did PT as well didnt seem to do anything and i also had prednisone which did absolutely nothing for swelling or anything. I had 3 cotisteroidal shots in by back into the trigger points of it, again didnt even make the swelling go away. shocking.  Now i dont know what to do for it. My PT which seems to have the most knowledge of whatever is wrong believes its origion is somewhere between C4- and C6 vertbral nerves because im experiencing pain up my neck. except here is the weird thing, most of the pain is on the opposite side of the neck, although i do feel pain on both sides. Im lost in what to do now and what it could be, i hear about people having similar issues and never getting it solved for 10 years. what can i do now????

Hi,

I'm 37 and I work very long hours in front of my computer being a virtual assistant.  About a year ago i started having shoulder/neck/back pain.  Now, it's getting worse and there's a burning sensation that accompany the pain in my right shoulder.  In the afternoon when I feel the most tired, the pain radiates through my arm and fingers.  I have seen a chiropractor and it did improve my condition, but after a month the pain is back.  I have to go to my chiropractor to loosen the muscles and adjust my bones regularly. It's the only thing that helps relieve the pain.  Hope that helps.

Hi i just found this and am shocked how so many people have exactly what i have heres my symptoms:

Severe burning pain in/around my right shoulder and along the side of my neck sometimes going to the back of my neck. i find if i raise my shoulder to my ear it temp relives it sometimes but i cannot do anything with my hands/and looking down or it will flair up really bad like chopping veggies or reading a book. Sometimes i even feel my mid back kind of pins and needles. I havent read all 7+ pages but has anyone come up with the cause or solution? I had an MRI on my cervical neck and halfway down my spine, nerve conduction tests, blood tests. Right now im on strong painkillers which i dont want to be on buts its the only thing that relives my pain some i also find my right shoulder snaps cracks alot when its really sore when i rotate it or shug it to my ears. Im going crazy i cannot find the souce or the pain i press all along my shoulder and neck and cannot locate the source of the pain its so frustrating how i can feel the pain but cannot locate/reach the pain. I have been to P.T's about 20 times and 3 diff ones and 2 chiros. Please please please anyone. Im 22 yo 146lb male.

To the point it brings tears to my eyes.I am at my wits end and ready to give up.

Hi Amie,

I have the EXACT same symptoms as this post from you. Going on 10+ weeks now and have done the steriods, PT (electro-stimulation, TENS) Airrosti Therapy, and the list goes on. Did you find a cause and cure? I'm also at the end of my rope and it is driving me insane. Your response would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I am going through the same thing and my dr. The only we have come up with is that a strong pain killer is the only thing that helps

PLEASE HELP!! Having been diagnosed with TMJ for 10+ years now no one has been able to treat me.  I live in pain on a daily basis and dont even want to wake up to deal with it.  I have proof of degeneration in the jaw but every doctor I went to tells me to take over the counter meds and put hot and cold compresses on the area.  I have been to the ER numerous times because it gets to the point where I just can not take it anymore.  I have three children and their lives are effected by  this as I have chronic headaches, jaw pain, pain in shoulders, etc...  I dont know what to do!!!  If anyone knows please help as I cannot take the chronic pain.

Your symptoms are the exact same thing I have been dealing with. Mine started over 13 years ago, I would have pain a few days per month. Over time it has increased in intensity and frequency. As of now I have pretty much constant pain.
I have done over 5 years of PT, I have seen 38 different doctors, including an Ortho specialist who would not do even exploratory surgery. I have had an MRI done, they cannot find any reason for it. I have gotten to the point with my doctor where he just gives me non narcotic pain meds for the day time and Lortab for at night. We did trigger point injects 5 or 6 times, the first time gave me almost 2 months relief, since then if I get 3 to 4 days from them I am lucky. I finally stopped those.
I am so tired of being in constant pain and being told by doctors there is no reason my shoulder should hurt, that its becoming very depressing. I too am at my wits end and very frustrated,
It is now at the point where it causes my neck muscles to be so tight that I am now doing sever headaches multiple days per week.
All I want is to find out what it is and how to stop it for good!

I got my right shoulder blade pain, right arm pain , neck pain , left arm pain
and pain between shoulder blades
5 month ago after the massager push me a few times very hard between
my shoulder blades trying crack my spine.
Pain  between shoulder blades was successfully  released by osteopath by unblocking
2 vertables, but I still have rest of the pain. MRI shows the sliped disk in the neck which press
on nerve which going to arm. But I suspect that nerve also could be trapped by right shoulder blade
because my right shoulder blade cracking, poping and create noise then I rotate shoulder.
I even cannot walk more then 5 minutes because it creates pain in the shoulder blade
Is anybody have similar conditions? To which doctor I have to go to ask for solutions?
