I have the same issues, reading everything you have said sounda like what i am going through.
I have been to pain management who reckons its neuropathic pain.
I have been referred to a physiotherapist, acupuncture and have bern given some tablets and patches, one being morphine.
He said it will be an ongoing thing and the pain may never go, but they can help control the pain and work with me.

I am oh so on the same page as you both.
Went to a seminar on chronic pain that ticked all the boxes and was good to see that I wasn't alone. Would thoroughly recommend looking into the dynamics of this...
I had a hip replacement around 14 months ago. Had a twitch in my leg after the surgery that persisted and just when it started to go away many months later the stiffness and chronic pain began. That beauty presented itself around 6 months ago. Doctors and physio's scratching their heads. Can hardly walk, sleep or sit for too long. On a walker on a bad day.
Good luck

Look up meralgia parestheica. I've had burning, prickly sensations, numbness & electric like shocks since I had the surgery on 10/25. 3 PTs & the visiting nurse said it was normal. I can tolerate some PT exercises. Others hurt terribly. I'm seeing a neurologist soon.
Tanya,
I am blown away by the number of people that have the same symptoms as myself following total hip replacement. Almost 2-1/2 years now and everyday is extreme pain. please let me know if you get any positive feedback.
I was considering Prolotherapy but I just am so tired of tests and doctors and this point.
Also just tried a rowing machine thinking this would provide a similar body reaction as Prolotherapy, that you are inflaming the area and telling your body that this area needs attention. I think it is working but expect it could be very long before I am pain free.
It is so frustrating to have the Drs tell us that the implant is perfect and the pain has to be caused by something else.

I had surgery four days ago and have terrible biting in thigh area. Come and goes.put me on lyrics. Did. Yours get better. Thanks megan
I had my hip replaced 1-1/2 years ago and having extreme pain last 3 weeks in hip. Tuesday they injected me with radioactive dye and 3 hours later did bone body scan. I see my doctor Monday and will know what they find.
My doctor said the same thing, the pain is coming from my back. I can't argue with him because I do have a bad back but my hip hurts everyday but my back doesn't hurt so how can it be coming from my back. I had to take pain medications for my back but I'm using the same amount of pain meds but now I have to deal with my hip pain too. I can't get a break. I thought if maybe I got the nerves burnt maybe that would alleviate some of the pain. It's getting so bad I can barely walk.
All Doctors think your crazy, either because of something they did during surgery, or they are clueless !!
I had hip replacement surgery about 3 months ago and suddenly about 5 weeks after have intense pain in my foot and ankle, sometimes as far up as the knee. I don't know what to do. the surgeon says it had nothing to do with the hip replacement but I think he's just afraid of a lowsuit. Any suggestions on what tests to have done? Thanks, Pat Scanlon
