I too have the same pain that all of you here are experiencing. I work for a doctors office and have had almost every test available. The few tests that we have not done are a colonoscopy, an EGD, upper and lower GI series. I am very up to date with medical info as I am a dictationist for a doctors' office. I have found this site to be informative in layman's terms about the gallbladder:

http://ezinearticles.com/?The-Functions-of-the-Gallbladder-and-the-Gallbladder-Disease&id=297011

I truly believe we have body parts for a reason and they should not come out for malfunctions such as stones. We don't remove the kidney when we have stones so why should you remove your gallbladder?

Here is another site that you may find helpful.

If you will look at the picture of the large colon, it travels straight across the back at approximately the bra line. has anyone been checked for polyps, Crohn's, right sided diverticuli disease or even this disorder

You know your body better than any physician. Insist upon a colonoscopy or an EGD. EGD (Esophagogastroduodenoscopy) is the examination of your upper digestive tract. It is more accurate than an x-ray. Sometimes, an EGD is used for treatment, such as the stretching of a narrowed esophagus, removal of polyps or swallowed foreign objects.

Colonoscopy is the examination of your lower intestinal tract or colon. It is a major advancement in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of colon cancer. It is the most effective way to detect and remove polyps that can develop into cancer. Before Colonoscopy, major surgery was necessary to remove colon polyps to determine if they were benign or malignant. Now, most can be removed easily and safely without surgery. In addition, many other conditions can be diagnosed such as diverticulosis, colitis, inflammatory diseases and infections.

Everyone over 50 should have a colonoscopy but if you are experiencing any pain in the abdomen you need to be evaluated by your family doctor or a specialist. If you need a referral talk with your general practitioner and insist that they listen to you.

Thank you and have a great day.

hi,

ive been living with daily/nightly bloating for few years now. its a pain in the rear to have, since there isnt any let up. although i tested positive for lactose intolerance, i do not have diarrhea or constipation. my bowel habits have always been normal.

not long ago i put myself through a radical diet of season/marinade free diet. all meats/veggies are either baked, broiled, steamed etc... ive found onions are huge contributor to my bloating, not to mention meat! yes that includes fish. all kinds of meat not only increase the bloating, but i end up with acid reflux as well. broiled trout worsen the acid reflux.

sometimes our bodies need a break from certain kinds of foods we eat. its interesting because im a health freak; all my foods are home grown nothing from a jar or can. meats are always fresh kill. yet i ended up with all these GI problems.

presently im on a vegan diet; no dairy, no meats, no honey; which i cannot tolerate either. there are lots of digestable yummy recipes on line for vegan people. i must say im feeling much better and the bloating is lessening each day, my energy is strengthening too. one day i'll try to reintroduce the foods i couldnt eat once again in hopes my body had ample time to regenerate itself to redigest them again.

Have you looked at Aortic Dissection or Acute Intermittent Porphyria?

My husband is 44 and has been experiencing all the above symptoms. It's actually taking over his life. He had tests done last summer and nothing showed in his heart, liver, kidneys, gallbladder or stomach. He had blood tests done last year and he had slightly high cholesterol. He's worried sick because he doesn't know what's making him feel this way. He's very irritable all the time. He works second shift now and that just makes the conditions worse. All he wants to do anymore is lay around and sleep. Before this started he was a very avid hunter and fishermen. If he wasn't working you could find him in the woods or by a roaring river. NOT ANYMORE. The doctors don't seem to concerened about these symptoms taking over his life but I do. We aren't us anymore because he's constantly sick and hurting. Prostate cancer runs in his family on the men's side so last year he also had a PSA test done and it came back fine. Are there any doctors out there that actually take pride in finding what turns a very enthusiastic person into someone who just wants to die rather than live with this pain ?

Hey all! I too am having same symptoms minus the vomiting. Every time I eat or drink something I have nagging pain a little below my shoulder blade in the right hand side of my back. A pain that lasts forever and does not get better over time. I suffer from back pain and muscle spasm already but this is new pain and wondering what is going on with me. I was asked if I suffer from Acid Reflux at one point, but not sure, never tried over the counter meds for Reflux. I do have stones in my kidney and I wonder if it causing my pain, i don't have any problem going to the bathroom. I was also asked to tell the doctor to check for stones in my galbaddler......so we will see. Hopefully they find something quick, I don't want to go through what all you peeps are going through....flank pain really hurts. Hurts with activity, eating, sleeping, standing, sitting, everything! Nothing gets rid of it....not one for pain meds. I took a muscle relaxant but doesn't seem to help....looks like I will be heading to the doctors office tomorrow! I will keep you all updated. Good luck to all!

Hello, I've got symptoms like this myself and have been doing some reading. I also have high blood pressure and on meds for this.

I get random discomfort like a dull ache, in my back, just below the right ribs and have had severe bloating in what seems like forever. Also symptoms of IBS.

I have also had a metal taste in my mouth recently and have had some pretty nasty bouts of fatigue. I am also menopausal so all of these symptoms could be random, however after doing some reading there is also a possibility of kidney problems.

I would urge anyone who pain in the back, just below or behind their ribs, along with bloating, etc. to do some reading too, and make sure to mention all symptoms to your Dr. He can't diagnose if he doesn't have enough or correct info. Remember you are own best advocate when it comes to your healthcare!

I would ask your doctor for a hide a scan procedure which is specific to see how well your gallbladder is functioning. I had the same problem, small amount of sludge with lots of pain and nausea. Turns out my gallbladder was only functioning at %10 so my Dr. took it out and things have been much better.

I have been going through the same thing for years... I had my gallbladder taken out a week after my son was born 5 years ago... then I developed more problems with my pancerous... and ended up with acute idipothic pancertites.... now i'm have simlar symptoms to your and my dr. is screning me for cancer of the pancerous... This scares the c**p out of me I am only 33....(the vomiting after you eat and feeling like you are going to die and the someone is stabbing you are the symptoms I went through with my 5 pancertitus attacks) worse than childbirth...when you have one of those attacks go to the ER and ask them to check your Lypase and Amalyse levels.. these rise when the pancerous and gallbladder are malfuncioning..it is lifethreating... I don't want to scare you this is just my own personal experience... but the loss of weight without trying is always a concern... and these days you almost have to tell your Dr. what you want to be checked for.... I was sent home 3 times from the ER after my first 3 attacks.. they dismissed me because I was young and had no risk factors for this... now I find out I could have died after anyone of thoes attacks and almost did after # 4....I developed blood poisning from that attack and they finally figured out what it was... I was given a 5% chance to make it through the nite....a preist came to see me and my children and family were told to tell me goodbye... I ended up suprising them all I was in ICU for 2 months.....that was 3 years ago...I have since had only one minor attack but am on Viocas enzymes to help with food digestion to keep attacks at bay...and hv to stay awasy from high protien meals (with read Meat) and caffine.. (they can trigger an attack) I do hope yours is nothing but I wish someone had told me what to look for before I suffered so much...this all could have been prevented and taken care of early on after my gallbladder was removed... they never told me the risks because they were small and I was young..goodluck and godbless

Cindy, from the symptoms you have, it sounds like you have an inflamed liver. The sac that surrounds the liver has nerves, and pressure put on the sac can cause severe pain, i could be way off, but i have had experience with this before. If the liver is inflamed, it can release fluids into your abdominal cavity, which would cause distention (expansion of the abdomen) which causes all kinds of complications related to digestion, and certainly after eating you could very well be nauseous, and vomiting can occur. The pain in between the shoulder blades in your back is what points to an inflamed liver because that is one of the signs of hepatitis, or some kind of problem where liver enzymes are above normal levels. Like i said before, pain in the abdomen has dozens and dozens of causes, also, there could be issues with your gallbladder which is in the liver basically. sometimes the most severe pain hints that the cause of the pain isnt serious (a lot of the time, it is not serious); because organs do not have nerve endings, but when you start adding other physiological symptoms to the list, there is great validity in being concerned.

Has anyone been tested for gluten intolerance? Gluten is the protein in wheat, rye and barley. I stated getting very sick everytime I ate. So bloated. Right under my sternum was painful to the touch. I found out that I am gluten intolerant. Stop eating gluten for a week (it should start improving in a few days) to test it out. The bloating went away in a few days. The constipation took awhile. Its worth a try.

hi cindy, ive had same symptoms but only been sick a couple of times altho feel it. I thought it was due to me eating breads and fats (Im vegetarian) but have had all the symptons today and have hardly eaten but i have drank lots of coffee.

My blood tests were fine and a scan showed nothing wrong but on monday im going for the camera down the throat to check the stomach. My doctor thinks its gall stones which if small enough can be broken down easily apparentely.

Get your doctor to refer you to hospital for some tests.

Good luck
