Hello, I'm 25 years old. I searched the Internet looking for other people that had the same thing happen to them. I smoked weed for the first time when I was 17, I was not happy after my numbness would last weeks. I was scared to smoke again. Age of 20 I smoked with my hubby and same thing happened. I would tell people why this happens to me and people just make fun of me. I went to Amsterdam and bought a cupcake aka space cake. I had only two small bites just eating the top off. Now it's been two weeks and the same sh*t! I even was sitting in the restaurant yesterday and almost had a panic attack from numbness and everything around me felt so loud and close. All the times before I barely smoked, I don't drink. I already knew after my Amsterdam trip this was my last time smokin

I'm a 19 year old male who recently experienced this same reaction (panic attacks, tingling and sense-of-touch problems, depersonalization that lasted several days) after smoking a small amount of marijuana, but I'm feeling a lot better now.

Important things to remember:
1. It is extremely rare that one incidence of marijuana use would cause permanent or long-lasting sensory damage, especially if you have used it before and been fine.
2. The bad reaction to marijuana was TRAUMATIC mentally and physically. As with any trauma, your body needs time to recover, and there are some things you can do help yourself heal (see below).
3. There are people out there who can help you. In many jurisdictions, medical and mental health professionals are required to keep what you tell them confidential. If you are feeling very sick, going to the doctor can at least help to rule out any underlying medical conditions. Be honest with them about how you're feeling.
4. In most cases that I've heard of, this reaction to weed comes as a result of underlying anxiety or other personal stress. Helping to ease the underlying stress in your life can help get rid of these symptoms.
5. Worrying about your symptoms WILL NOT HELP. Your body just needs time to heal. Whenever you think about your symptoms, try to think about something else. Focus on breaking the cycle of fear and worry.

Tips for getting better:
1. DO NOT SMOKE MORE WEED, DRINK ALCOHOL OR USE ANY OTHER PSYCHOACTIVE DRUGS without consulting a doctor UNTIL THESE SYMPTOMS GO AWAY. Using more weed or alcohol may just prolong the recovery process.
2. Try to live as healthy as possible: Stay hydrated, eat a balanced diet, and get lots of sleep. Exercise is also good.
3. Spend time with friends and/or other people who care about you. Even if you feel a little out-of-it, interpersonal contact will help you feel better.
4. Do things that you enjoy to take your mind of your symptoms and stress. Distraction is very helpful in this case.
5. Try meditating. This may help relieve the underlying stress. Also, going outside may help relieve stress.

For me these symptoms did go away in less than one week when I followed the recommendations above. My friend had similar symptoms that took longer to heal, but he is better now too. If this lasts for more than a month, you may want to see a doctor. But honestly, not worrying about it is the best way to heal. Stay positive!

Guys, original poster here. (Mugen94) I'm 21 now. It's been 4 years, and I still have these symptoms.. lol. It got less severe, because I'm not anxious about it anymore. I only get the numb, tingling, delayed touch thing, but yeah it's still there. It comes and goes, but I notice I it gets stronger usually when I'm sleep deprived. I think the weed hit me so hard back then, I developed some kind of trauma.. I dunno. I want to smoke again, to see what it does to me. I actually did take a few hits off a joint a couple of weeks ago. That was in a period where I didn't feel any symptoms, and smoking didn't change anything.

Hello there. Same reaction as all. 5 years after smoking just a few times of purp. The last time it happened the day after. I woke up and it felt like a delay of touch on everything. Like my mind saw me touch things but like a nano second later I felt the touch... Weird. Bad thing is I get it in my mouth as well as everywhere else. When drinking water and touching water it feel like jello. It happened a month later as well with no weed. It happens maybe every 3 or 4 months after. It has happened 5 years later on and off. I am use to it when it happens. When it happens I can't enjoy foods because it's like everything in my mouth feels like jellow, everything I touch with my hands. It's weird. But I have found a cure when it happens. I have found when it happens that if you drink black coffee with no creamer, a full cup, and wait one or two hours. Or those kcup type of coffee, Then it goes away faster. Instead of lasting days it has sometimes only lasted a few hours or only a day. something's however that triggers this in me is drinking a very sweet very cold fruit drink that will cause it to happen when I swallow. Or if somehow with many emotions it happens, or when my neck hurts sometime. Or if I hit my head once then it happened. Or just sometime it was random. But yeah plain black coffee will work to lessen the effect duration. Hope it helps. Still after 5 years. My friend told me that he thinks it messed something up because I smoked on the strongest one that exist on my first time with a bong. It somehow messed something up. Don't be afraid though. Life is wonderful no matter what. No need to be depressed guys. It's only temporary when it happens after all. Good luck all.

Guys , I have the same exact symptoms as everyone in here and I had them from FEB 2011 and I did many doctors test and everything and it all came back fine I learned how to live with it. I still get them from time to time whenever I feel tired or when I start to think about the symptoms.

It started with me having a very bad trip in Amsterdam from eating space cake and every time I smoke after I get the symptoms

Okay.... So either, you're completly over agagerrating about your high or IT wasn't weed you smoked , Do any of you get this ... So after smoking a joint after months of not smoking while sober I get this delayness every time I step into my room , it's like I find myself doing everything fine then the second I sit on my bed I think, " wait, how long have I been sat here "

I know the solution. It's a form of PTSD and anxiety triggered. Rid yourself of all triggers. Analyze what triggers it , your train if thought and avoid them. And when you do get the tingling feeling welcome it as if you've had it your whole life and its normal. Any more questions add me on FB. Richard Vocal with a clown pic

Hey guys- I'm Zach and 2 months I took shrooms and smoked and all the sh*t you guys happend HARDCORE for like 5 hours. When I woke up the next morning I was 100% fine. I thought the reason why my hand tingling and vision was because of the shrooms but I smoked yesterday like LEGIT one little hit and it happened again. And when I woke up this morning it was back :( Luckily my girlfriend understands and I can talk to her but hell this is so hard. I'm never smoking again. My best advice is to pray if you're a religious man like myself, And just remember it's not you. You're gonna be scared but don't let it consume you. You guys really helped me and I hope this helps. Sleep, drink some water and just remember IT WILL GO AWAY. Don't let it consume you. Also my train of thought goes everywhere and gets me paranoid- don't let that happen. It will worry you more.if you get scared just show someone this page (Doctor, bestfriend, parent) get it off your chest or it will eat you alive. IT WILL GO AWAY. You're not screwed for life. You're not!!! I promise. What's holding you back from getting better is you thinking you're screwed for life. Just live with it for now and you'll be better.
