I got asthma because I smoked way to much weed. It effected my training to lose wight and my dreams to be a ball player. So If I was you i would quit now. because I had the scariest minor asthma attack I ever had !
I have had asthma my whole life. It was really bad a few years ago, I was hospitalized after a bad attack, and don't even remember going to the hospital, but now it seems to be getting better. Any way when I'm near tobacco smoke I have a hard time breathing, but weed smoke doesn't seem to effect me. I tried a puff off of a cig and had to use my inhaler and had a very rough time breathing. But I can pack a bowl with weed and smoke it, hold the smoke in no problem. I don't know why but weed doesn't seem to effect my asthma like tobacco does. However if it gets hard to breathe from weed, I shall invest in a vape. I'm 19 btw.
Since about the age of 17 i had been smoking almost everyday. One day after smoking maybe 5 blunts the day before( i wish now i would have invested in a bong would have saved my lungs imo), i woke up gasping for air. Just sitting up in my bed got me out of breath. Went to walk my dog and almost couldnt make it back home i was so out of breath. I had never had asthma before, my GF at the time went to CVS and got me a primeatine mist inhaler and omg i could breathe again. So i continued to smoke, and probably use the inhaler about 10-30 times a day. 2 years went by then the inhaler was taken off the market. The day after my last inhaler ran out i almost died. I had a bong now so i kept smoking even though i knew i shouldnt. That night i could feel my lungs closing up and my chest tightening. It felt like i had to literally force air into my lungs (first time in my life i actually thought i was maybe going to die) . I ended up spending 6 days in the hospital. i had been prescribed prednisone, advair, singulair, and ventolin. Im only 29 and i never thought id have to use all this c**p.
so maybe 2 months after getting out of the hospital, i could breath and was back to smoking everyday. i stopped taking my meds except for my inhaler i used maybe 2 times a day at most. Was breathing fine for almost a year. Then i caught got the flu and cold i was sick for maybe 2 weeks. And my weezing and asthma came back now im hopping that my advair and singulair will help me get back to breathing normally. so i can smoke again? sadly yes.
So to all of you smokers out there. Sure u can smoke with asthma ( if u can handle it). I had been able to feel my lungs get worse over the years, almost like they were getting heavier but i kept smoking. i wish i had stoped smoking blunts because i feel thats what caused my lungs to become like this. If you can afford an Oz of medical grade then u can spend a couple hundred dollars on a doctors visit. my 6 days in the hospital cost me over $17,000 and could have been prevented if i just went and got a prescription for an inhaler. And if i would have fallen asleep that day instead of going the the ER the Doctors i saw said i would have never woken up. Would have been cheaper for me but i kinda do prefer life over death.
well hope this helps someone its 5am and im to dam tired to be raving about my life story hahaha. To bad i cant smoke cause dam i need some sedative :-D .
First of all, the actual smoke from marijuana is not THAT harmful, it does do MORE good for you than harm. I have never understood the people that say that the actual smoke is bad, because it is not. Smoking marijuana actually INCREASES lung function. Honestly, the only "bad" side affect from smoking that I can think of is the fact that your lungs are filled with resin, but as long as you exercise regularly and eat in a way that flushes your system, it should also flush out the resin (for example, I have been a vegetarian for about thirteen years, by choice, and I run daily as well as visit the gym three times a week.) I have been smoking weed for about two and a half years and have always supported marijuana as a medicine and as a recreational activity, but in that time, it has actually increased the whole function of my respiratory system. I had pneumonia when I was in the second grade and it severely affected my lung function and I was diagnosed with asthma after it, and then when I was in probably ninth grade, (I am quite young, just so you all know, only 19.) I was diagnosed with tachycardia, which runs in my family as far back as my geat-great-great grandmother.) So my whole respiratory system was screwed for a while. Some point in high school, I fell into the peer pressure to smoke weed, and it was probably the best thing I did for my body. My doctors are amazed at how well I am now. I am on heart medicine and I still use my inhaler when needed, but I do feel like a new person. In other words, your friend's doctor is trying to do what most doctor's try to do which is make people quite doing something that is actually helping them more than harming them because the government says so. Your friend will be fine, regardless of whether or not she chooses to continue to smoke weed, as long as she does what she is supposed to do for her asthma.
This is absolutely absurd, bro. My mother is 43 years old and has asthma since she was 12 and has been smoking weed since she was 10. This is all BS. Not only does she have asthma, but she has tachycardia too and just the fact that she has never once has a single heart problem aside from the tachycardia, obviously, and never once has she had an asthma attack since she was diagnosed with asthma, I'm going to call straight BS on this, I'm sorry. So, you're either just really, really, really stupid or this is a completely made up BS story.
You cannot get asthma from smoking weed And it did not AFFECT your training to lose weight, what affected it was your inability to control your munchies or find something healthy to snack on instead. And it did not AFFECT your dreams to because a basketball player. Don't blame marijuana for your shortcomings,

couldn't of said it better ........
I have had asthma for my entire life of 20 years. I was always worried about smoking weed with my condition, but i have discovered that a single bong can make me breathe so much easier. it seems (for me) to open my breathing tract and i can take even deeper breaths. I dont want to go out and say weed has medicated my asthma but i breathe better after a bong that i do all day.
I'm in a similar situation, did u recover right ?
I'm 25 years old and I have asthma.
I also get high every day, as I have a medical marijuana card.
YOLO
I've had asthma for about 4 months now is asthma I life long condition
Bongs generally tend to expand and contract your lungs at a faster rate than a bubbler just because of the way bongs are made to smoke, bubblers are smaller yet it has the smoothing effect of the water, so get a glass bubbler if you can, if you really want a bong then make sure you never put ice into your water buy a bong with ice chambers if you mix water with ice and you inhale that smoke your just putting excess humidity into your lungs which is a BIG no no. Cheers!
