I have the same problem. I'm 29. About 6 months ago I started having issues with my prostate.  I took multiple courses of antibiotics (Cipro) for 4 weeks and then again for 6 weeks. I still have issues with my prostate depending what I eat (caffeine especially seems to agitate it). I never had this problem with penis pain after ejaculating until my prostate issues started so I can't help but feel they are related. I'm planning to go back to see my urologist as this is really effecting my quality of life.

I'm a 22 year old guy from Holland. I've had the exact same problem for a very long time, atleast 6-7 years, maybe longer.
After i've ejaculated my penis feels realy sore from the inside the next time i have an erection within about 12 hours of ejaculating.
If i ejaculate while my penis is sore, the soreness will also be there when my penis is not erected.

For the last 2-3 years ive also had the feeling my balls are more pain sensitive than they were before that period. Like, i get the typical kick in thr nuts pain, but way less intense, but still there, if i touch/or squeze them. This ive noticed independantly from the soreness in the shaft, because i've only recently found out that not every guy has this soreness and before that i didnt give any attention to it.

Also have any of you done a fertility test lately? maybe it has something to do with this (this is just random guessing).

Also my penis is curved to the upper left, and i've noticed more guys with this problem saying they have a curved penis. So maybe thats a common factor.

Also ive recently heard about this genetic defect that makes some guys feel sick (literaly, like headache, stomach ache, shivers, sligth fever) after they've ejaculated. Seems the body of those guys react to their own sperm as if it were some outside unwanted organism/virus/bacteria/whatever. Not that im feeling sick after ejaculating or anything, but it might be a milder case of the same (or atleast common) condition.

These two sentences are exactly what I have. (my penis is only slightly curved, by the way.) The soreness is in the upper middle of my penis, where the wee/cum tube runs through the shaft. It is especially sore after I've had a hard, prolonged erection and I cum really hard.

my recent discovery- If I have an erection for, lets say, an hour (long wank i know!), and I DON'T cum but let my penis go soft instead, it can still feel a bit sore that way... in the same place too. so maybe ejaculating isn't really the root cause...
any doctors on this site to help?

I have the same problem as everyone else. I'm 24, have a window of about 8-10 hours after orgasm where another erection is painful, and I have had this problem for as long as I can remember.  I do wear a retainer every other day or so, for the person concerned about BPA, but am unsure if it actually does contain BPA.

My theory has always been that for some reason blood gets trapped in my penis after orgasm causing the pain.  Maybe the muscle spasms cause it, which is why it doesn't occur if no orgasm occurs even if I've had an erection for a long time.  I came up with the idea because I always thought that it was a somewhat similar feeling to blue balls, but in my penis instead of scrotum.

The "toothpaste" method kind of goes along with this theory, since it would help message new blood to the area.

I've always had some problems with this line of thought, like why it lasts so long (8-10 hours seems like a dangerous amount of time for oxygen-depleted blood to stay around), but it's something to think about at least.

I've thought about it some more and have laid out a series of events that I think may cause the problem.

Again, I think the problem is caused by extra blood staying in the penis after orgasm.

This blood sitting in the penis in some way damages or inflames the surrounding tissue after about 20 minutes.

The severity of the damage or inflammation can vary and may only cause pain when an erection is achieved (and the tissue is stretched) or, if it's more severe (maybe after a couple orgasms), could hurt without any provocation.

The damage or inflammation heals after about 8 hours or so, returning everything to normal.

The reasons for thinking this is what is actually happening are that first, I am pretty sure there is more blood in my flaccid penis immediately after orgasm than in it's normal state (it feels different then, a little harder and actually heavier).  And second, that messaging my penis after orgasm (getting blood to flow around and not settle) seems to really help the condition, as it seems to for others too.

This is all PURE SPECULATION, as I have no medical training or really very much knowledge of biology, but just something that makes sense to me.  It would be nice if a medical professional could comment on the feasibility of this line of thinking; if the basic premise of blood getting trapped is possible, and if it is, could that trapped blood somehow damage tissue.
Does this makes sense to anyone else?  Anyone have any symptoms that conflict with this explanation?

Hi, I am 28 and I have had this problem for years now (too many to count), It basically comes after I finish and last for 8hrs+. The way I have found to help solve the problem is if I clear out my penis after by having a pee it definitely relieves the pressure and also allows me to have sex again without the throbbing pain. I must add though, that it is very hard to reach climax the second time, and near impossible the third.

I have never been to see a GP/ doctor about it. This is also the first time I have contacted/ posted a comment on any topic board, but felt that other people needed to know that this happens to a lot of Guys.

Hope this helps.

This has already been solved for a lot of people. Go back to page 2 and read the solution (it's like the first one on the page or something), and then read the whole thread. It involves squeezing EVERY BIT of semen out of your penis right after ejaculation. Go read the whole thread, it's all enlightening. I have yet to try this method, but will perhaps report back once I have my results.

I'm 22 years old and I have the same issue everybody else is reporting. After I ejaculate, whether it's from either sex or masturbation, there is some soreness in what feels to be the entire shaft of my penis and the pain even extends close to the testicles. This soreness lasts until late that day (if I ejaculate in the morning) or the next morning after 6-8 hours of sleep.

I have noticed that if I urinate shortly after ejaculating that the pain isn't as bad when I have another erection, but it still exists. I have also noticed that the strength of ejaculation depends on how long I have gone since the previous ejaculation, and that the soreness isn't nearly as bad as when I ejaculate once per day. As a result of this, I believe the power of the 'shot' helps clear the tubes of semen even more than urinating after ejaculation because they are two separate systems entirely that combine at a single point before the shaft of the penis. When I ejaculate once per day, I have a decent amount of residual semen that I have to squeeze out because if left alone, it seeps out and dries, virtually gluing the tip of my penis to my underwear which results in painful detachment. o.O

I visited a urologist yesterday and received no answers. I explained my situation in great detail and after the doctor tested my urine sample and physically checked my genitals, he stated that my problem "isn't uncommon" and was extremely vague in even explaining what the condition even is. He basically said that I could go a step further and he could have a cystoscopy performed, but he felt it was unnecessary.  His overall nervousness took me by surprise and because of that, I hesitated to ask more questions and left.

I've felt completely unsatisfied with the urology visit and have already scheduled another appointment with the same doctor, because when I asked for a new one, the office stated that he was the head of the department.

This problem that I have and that we all seem to be experiencing, has been crippling my sex life and my overall quality of life. The theory about too much residual semen being stuck in the tubes sounds somewhat harmful and would definitely explain the pain. If this is the case, I wonder what could be done in order to increase strength of ejaculation.

I'll try the massaging and post results. I'll also make a follow-up post after my next appointment. :-|

I'd like to add that varying lengths of time of masturbating and sex has all resulted in the same amount of soreness, whether it's 5 minutes or two hours.

I have had this same condition since my early-teens (currently 32yo) and I'm 100% certain the cause of the pain is residual semen in the urethra. I was recently prescribed FloMax for a trial period due to trouble urinating. FloMax is designed to relax the bladder sphincter to aid in increased urine flow/stream. Because of this, one of the side effects is a thing called "retrograde ejaculation." Upon climax, semen--like any fluid--will travel the path of least resistance. Normally it should exit through the urethra and out the penis; however, while taking FloMax, my bladder was so relaxed the semen would sometimes be diverted into my bladder. The feeling of orgasm was normal and pleasurable, but I would not ejaculate. This only happened a few times, but each time it occurred my penis was able to achieve a pain-free second erection. The times I was able to climax normally, the pain would be present during any subsequent erection (for up to 12 hours) which was the "norm" for me. I have since stop taking FloMax and the post-climax erection pain persists. I can live with the condition; I'm just glad to know the cause. I find taking a very hot shower following climax while expressing as much residual semen works well. I hope this helps!

I've had the same thing for years and squeezing out the semen doesn't work for me. I also have a host of other problems in the area including tingling in my scrotum and a muscular bulge between my testicles during erection and ejaculation. For me I can avoid the soreness if i sit down or lie down after ejaculation. But if i get right up and go out and about I can expect to be sore for a while after. It feels like its my urethra but its hard to distinguish from the rest of my penis. But it actually feels like its bruised. It doesn't matter if I ejaculate immediately after starting sex or if it takes a while.

So it obviously has something to do with the actual act of ejaculation. I've found info on Chronic Pelvic Pain Sites that claim it could be due to flexing the pelvic muscles during ejaculation. And sure enough, I do flex them either as a response to the excitement or in order to stay erect during sex. And while I haven't been able to completely erase the soreness this way, I do find it to be decreased. Don't know if anybody has thoughts on this.

But what I really need is to find a cure for the tingling I have in my scrotum. It all seems to be related since I've had all the symptoms for about the same ammount of time (13) years but I can't figure it out and neither can the experts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

At first i also tought the cause might be related to residual semen inside the penis. But, like the coment above, i read about chronic pelvic pain and i'm starting to think it is something muscular. Maybe the "toothpaste method" works because it helps to releave the muscles. Every urologist i've asked has told me that residual semen can't be the cause.

("I spent several years practicing certain Tantric techniques before this problem manifested. Basically I would stop stroking right before the "point of no return" and relax all the muscles down there. I would do this over an over and if the timing was just right, I would ejaculate about half the normal amount. A minute or two later I stroke more and then ejaculate the rest. Perhaps my muscle relaxation techniques permanently messed up my ejaculations so that more semen than normal would be left in the shaft. Perhaps other guys with this problem just naturally don't eject all the semen properly.

The guy in the other thread theorizes that the pain is caused by the sperm hardening inside the shaft and that's what causes the pain. I'm not sure about this. It's possible. It's also possible we have some kind of infection and the infected sperm is causing the ache. In any case, thanks again for jumping into this thread and sharing. I've been troubled by this for like 3 years and it's been really hard to find an answer. I hope this technique continues to work. I'll be checking back and posting my progress. I'm sure this thread will help others.")

OMG this is totally my case!! zenman!! i did the same thing too! im wondering if other people did this type of masturbation too? i actually started doing this since i learned how to masterbate and have been having the same problem ever since i can remember.. but what i really wanna know is if anybody has any solutions on how to get the hardened sperm inside my shaft like for example not ejaculating for a specific amount of period and drinking something to get it out and finally return to being normal?? what zenman's saying for me makes perfect sense because ive recently heard about a guy whom the doctor told him that he had a condition because he didn't let his sperm out while he was masterbating.. i wish to shed more light on this matter please if anyone can add more information about this?
