sore throat with ear pain

Oh wow, I have an infected tooth, root canal scheduled for next week and I have these same symptoms on the left side. I hope it all goes away after I have it fixed.

Me again! I visited my doctor, and he said it was some sort of inner ear infection, because I felt something like liquid inside. As for my throat, he said it was an INFECTION as well! He said we couldn't do anything about my ear, but it would get better in a couple of days. I took Strepsils for my throat as well, and it got better.

Ahh! I think this is the correct diagnosis for me. Now that you mention it, I do have a wisdom tooth that is currently erupting.

If you have dizzy spells I had them to it is an inner ear infection and nothing you take or do cures it

I realise this is old but I have the exact same thing - soar throat, with pain in my left ear. I'm scared it may be meningitus. I'm only 14 and although my doc said it was only a sore throat its getting worse and he hasn't goven me any medicine. I'm also a bit dizzy, tired and have a small headache !

Just be careful on what you read on the Internet because almost everything = cancer if you look long enough!! Also doctors aren't miracle workers either, sometimes they get it right sometimes they don't that's life. Some just pure suck!! The best thing is to write down ALL your symptoms, what you eat , when and how it started and how long , then go see a doctor. He/ she sucks and got it wrong ? Go see another one and another one until your fixed. ENT as well if needed! I'm in the same boat as all of you by the way throat hurts left side and ear. And jaw. I'm on antibiotics but it's not working so on the 14th august off I go to ENT! Am I worried it could be the big C of course! But there is only one way to find out if it is or isn't and that's the ENT. I'm 36 and don't want to live this way either so I'm doing something about it. Internet has few select good tips but reading too much too long = depression and thinking your gonna die !

totally agree with u. had the symptoms of sore throat and earpain. read too much on internet and went into depression. turned out to be simple ear infection with swollen tube. still have a litte pain but manageble with nasal spray. recommends to see doctors rather than making your own conclusions after reading on internet.

zzz every now and again i get same . Sore throat find it almost impossible to swallow my own saliva let alone swallow food. And i get ear aches with it aswell. garr happned 2 me a few times now , usually last a couple of days . =( ..

Im 14 With swelling on my left throat gland, which makes it hard for me too swolllow or eat anyhting. I also Have a ear ache in my left ear. My Throat started off completly swolen but it did hurt to drink. My Parents Refuse too take me too the doctor and I have problem sleeping due to stiff neck and a head ache. This Has been going on for 6 days where I strugle to sleep but the throat was swolen before Then. What should I do, And What do you think it is? x
