sore throat with ear pain

Hi, Im also one of it who having a same pain like you guys. Its get hurts and by day to day, it getting much more worse and worse. I even can't concentrate to do my daily job in office especially when it comes to calling people and Im having a sore throat on left side since last week friday and continue to affect my left ear and now Im calling people using my right ear to listen now. Everyday Im also having porridge due to I have difficulty to swallow food. I think doctor cant help anything especially on antibiotics. The doctor just saying that Im having infection to throat and ear.

i had this same issue but on my left and i went to my doctor to see what was goin' on and he said nothing but strep throat said its HUGE this year and one of the biggest out spreads since the 80's so i would suggest being checked out and getting antibiotics

I'm experiencing this right now! Pain in the right side of my throat and a little pain in my right ear.

It started about three hours ago after eating a Burger King Whopper Meal...

It hurts when I swallow (even my own spit).

I'm worried because I've never experienced this before (I'm a male, aged 33).

I'm going to drink plenty of water and have an early night - hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow. If not, I'll have to book an appointment with the doctor.

I have same symptoms. Sore throat and ear pain on left side. Worse at night to the point that I am waking up boyfriend from my whining! Mild cough, but the cough just makes my ear and throat throb! I would have to say it is super painful! I have been sick a lot over the last couple of years with bronchitis and other respiratory infections. I would take that any day over this horrible feeling! Been tired a lot too, but sleeping is almost impossible without dosing up on ibuprofen but it seems to take too many for the pain to subside and wears off too quickly. Catch is... I had a tonsillectomy! No tonsils... So what is that about?

My best friend had the same experience as you Corina Faith and was scheduling surgery to deal with sinus cavity infections when she moved out of her apartment. Cleared up right away. Turns out it was the mold spores in the apartment bathroom. Take a look around the places where you spend the most time, work, home etc.

exactly the same for me left side ear and throat, im so done with cruises ive had since dec 18, we were in south america but i know i got it one night aboard the ship same evening it came hard and quick, stay away from those bacteria bath ships!!!

I went to the Doctor this morning with the problem of pain at the left back of mouth / top of throat, swollen painful glands on front neck and face as well as ear pain. 

The stabbing pain in my throat made it extremely difficult to swallow both solids or liquids and it wasnt improving over several days despite constant mouth washing with salt, Vit C, and throat lozenges. 

So the Doctor diagnosed it immediately as Tonsillitis and prescribed me a 5 day course of anti-biotics; pro-biotics, throat spray and pain killers (MYPRODOL). I took my first dose at lunchtime (2 hours ago) and already I am feeling a hell of a lot better. I reckon I should be feeling fine by tomorrow. 

 

 

 

Hi. I'm 14 and my throat really hurts when i swallow however my ears don't hurt. but my left ear hearing problems everything is muffled

and that also led to lack sleep because I'm in so much pain. I still am.:-@

 

I had those repeated infections. After 7 years of illness, turns out I have combined ammune deficiency . Blood work by a lung dr found it. My immune system isn't working. I need infusions every month one.

I know this post is extremely old; however, I just wanted to respond to this in case someone happens upon this site. I've lived through meningitis, and I can say with 100% confidence that if you have meningitis you KNOW that something is really, really, really wrong. It may start out as a headache and sore throat, but it gets WAY worse- somewhat quickly. For me, it was to the point where at about 6-8 hours after I started feeling 'a little headache', all I could do was lay in bed/sleep. There was no ability to sit up and surf the Internet for symptoms.
Now, I will give some flexibility on the diagnosis portion of it. I was originally misdiagnosed (it was just too early on), but the doctor told me exactly what to look out for; and low and behold within about 5 hours after seeing the doctor I was in the emergency room with a diagnosis. If you've been able to focus on ANYTHING other than your head pain (watch tv, play on the Internet, read, etc), then you likely don't need to worry about meningitis, especially after a few days. If you have bacterial meningitis you would've probably passed away by a few days. I'm only saying this to help people calm down. No need to get worked up over something too quickly! :)

I recommend not using web md for anything

I have a really sore throat. I've had it for at least 3 days now and it hurts when I speak and swallow. It also kind of hurts my ear. Can anyone tell me what it is?
